Last time I skipped school, I was stuck outside of my house for 4 fucking hours in the cold before anyone came home to unlock the door.

Posted: 11/16/09 10:54 PM

Forum: Video Games

So you're saying they should add some RTS or maybe FP elements to the game? That does sound cool, but I honestly think Pokemon doesn't need gimmicks like that to stay fresh. Back in the day, I felt so proud of myself when I finally beat Gary and became Pokemon champion and I still get that same feeling whenever I play the next generation.

Also, I really didn't like most of the original Pokemon for some reason, so your idea kind of bores me.

The swiss army knife, perhaps the most useful tool ever up until the invention of the leatherman aka multi-tool.

I'm talking about the level icon, if you didn't get it by now.

Doesn't it look like it's bigger than hand-held use? Like it could be used with both hands and it would be the size of a medium-sized dog.

If anyone remembers this (fat chance), there was an episode of The Tick cartoon series where Arthur and his date are attacked by a mercenary group called The Swiss, and they all carry giant Swiss Army Knives that hold swords, guns, bottle openers, etc. Anyway, that's what I think the level icon would look like. Picture for reference:

Good Bye Lenin! is one of the greatest German/Indie films I've ever seen.

It tells a dark comedic side to a boy's life in Communist Germany before and after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and it shows what he has to go through to keep his mother from dying, who was once a powerful figure in Communist Germany.

I recommend it if you like dark humor and subtitles.

It's like in the 5th element when they scanned Korben's fingerprints for identification. Basically, IDs are used for entering school and getting lunch, nothing else.

Now I don't know if your school does this, but my school requires that all students must wear an ID to school or else you get kicked off the premises. Now today, my mom was rushing this morning and we left fairly earlier than usual. The problem was, on my way out, I had forgot my ID card and I didn't realize until I was dropped off at school.

Because of this fucking rule, I wasn't aloud to enter the school until I got my ID back and thus had to walk back to my house (which is across town, mind you). By the time I got home, first period was over. When I tried to open the door however, I had forgoten my mom locks all the doors in the house and I had forgotten my keys as well, so I was stuck waiting in the cold for 4 hours until she came back from work. By that time, I had given up hope of going back to school and just stayed home that day.

The point of the story is, I fucking hate this ID policy. If you forget your ID, security doesn't let you in, regardless if they know you or not. You can buy a temporary ID, but they're five dollars and I was flat broke at the time. The state of my school system has really gone downhill since freshman year. Does anyone else shares this problem?

It's simple logic in this: If you were working for Hitler in Nazi Germany, but you hated everything about him, wouldn't you want to give the middle finger to him instead of the Jews, despite the punishment?
