Response to: Did You Lie About Your Age? Posted February 11th, 2013 in General

I can't recall. I was 10 when I first found the site and signed up when I was around 12 or 13 back in '05. I most likely did lie about my age.

As you can tell, this is a newer account. I'm 21 this sunday.

Response to: Taking the blame Posted February 11th, 2013 in General

Taking the blame depends on the situation.

Example:

My best friend and I are at his girlfriend's parent's house. My friend breaks something valuable or sentimental to the parents. In order for him to not be in hot water with his girlfriend's parents, I take the blame.

Then there are extreme circumstances where you should never take the blame.

Example:

My friend kills someone and wants me to take the blame.

Why would I ever take the blame for that? I may keep my mouth shut about it because they're my friend, but I'm not going to take the blame for it.

If you have a good friend who just made a mistake and the punishment is not going to be as harsh on you than him (circumstancial); you should take the blame. It's called being a friend.

The Firefox UI can easily be changed to replicate Chrome. And the latest UX build has updated graphics for tabs.

That's cool man, thanks. I'll try it out.

I dunno. I liked it. 12 Monkeys, Time Bandits, and the Adventures of Baron Munchausen are all better, though.

I thought 12 Monkeys was very good. Haven't seen the others though.

You should do it. It may give you more ideas for the story during and after illustrating.

I do the same. The key is to stop thinking about it and just do it. If you aren't being productive you're going nowhere.

And you have to stop caring what people are going to think of your work. If you keep trying to fix everything in your head according to whoever is going to be watching it, you'll never finish it. Make peace with yourself and do your work.

Go for it; they're pretty good games. The newest one, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, has a yellowish tint to the whole game which is what I picture the Newgrounds city looking like. Cool stuff, dude.

Response to: Firefox Versus Chrome Posted February 7th, 2013 in General

I used Firefox for years until Chrome came out with a decent version. Chrome was bad at launch but improved over time. I say there isn't much difference between the two; I prefer Chrome's look to Firefox's, that's probably my biggest concern.

Also, I've found Firefox can be slow for no reason sometimes.

For casual people who know nothing about the technical side of browsers and whatnot (this guy), I say it's personal preference.

Response to: How many hours of sleep do you get? Posted February 7th, 2013 in General

I try to get 8 a night. Sometimes the hours fluctuate between 6 and 10. All I can say is that I'm not tired during the day. That's also because I drink a lot of water during the day.

Remember to drink your water, kids!

Unpopular opinion time:

The movie Brazil by Terry Gilliam. Nothing against Gilliam, but I think the movie is a steaming pile of shit. I cannot for the life of me understand why the movie has received any sort of praise. It's boring, confusing, bizarre, and unnecessary. Please tell me: What is the movie symbolizing in the dream sequence of the main character dressed as an angelic knight fighting a fat gigantic samurai? I'd like to know. That's just one part.

The entire movie makes no sense. Gilliam took 1984 and other dystopian ideas, mixed them together with fertilizer and then recorded it.

End rant. I felt like expressing my anger instead of critically analyzing the film and sounding less one-sided.

Maybe that was a bit harsh.
Response to: you ever get that feeling? Posted February 7th, 2013 in General

I don't understand what you are trying to say. Use proper grammar and syntax if you want to express your opinion.

Response to: A Fiction About The Ngpd Posted February 7th, 2013 in Writing

I like it. The main character is cool and Newgrounds as a city works well, now that you have it in writing. It reminds me of Deus Ex and Blade Runner.

A job well done, sir! Proceed with chapter 2!

At 2/6/13 03:16 AM, zag wrote: Music tends to be a fairly large part of many of my characters, and thus, with certain songs, I can't help but think of them.

That's particularly the case with Visual Kei, which makes me think of my character, Samantha Bell who is the lead singer in a visual kei band. Dark Cabaret, constantly incites images of Elsbeth Laye (an actress)

Technically Elsbeth isn't my character though. She's my partner's.

That sounds similar to how I write with music. I get montages and images of characters or stories in my head with certain music. The song Ulysses by Franz Ferdinand, for example, always has me thinking of an opening montage to an action movie with a James Bond type character.

Yep, pretty much this. There's also a free script formatting program called Celtx you might want to look into.

I second this. Celtx is an excellent program. A lot of the pros use Final Draft, which I've tried as well but I find Celtx to be superior. Celtx is easy to use as well.
