I agree completely. I've even had good friends give me shit for not being religious. They treat it like it's so taboo not to believe in a fucking deity, because to me it's about as logical as the fucking tooth fairy. But on the other hand I have met some really cool people that are religious, and they just stay away from the subject. I don't mind people that are religious and don't treat it like it's the end all be all of everything. If we can have an intelligent conversation without it having to be about religion, then fuckin' a.

Spent 3 years as a protestant, and about 5 as a Catholic (baptized, catholic school, all that good stuff).

I went to catholic school up until high school, I decided the whole religion thing wasn't really my soiree.

I just never believed that some almighty being was listening to my prayers and watching over the whole universe.

I was baptized too, Confirmation, ate the cardboard flavored bread, all that jazz.

And the dodgyness of the priests answers to my questions ("can god make a burrito so spicy that even he cannot eat it?" wasn't one of them...)

I never understood how after making Moses walk up a mountain to get the Ten Commandments, and then go down the mountain to bring them to the people. He decides that he doesn't like how everyone is behaving and makes them kill each other.
