Key words extracted from copypasta. Only if it's with the intent of making them unfit to be reissued. If, however, you do it with the intent of being able to track it across the USA, it's not an offence.

Or that's how I interpret it.

Well, you typed that the sun is the centre of the universe, what an idiot you are!

What I'm trying to say is that you need to look at the context. For all we know the book might've said something in the lines like:

"When Copernicus postulated that the Earth isn't the centre of the universe, many scholars didn't believe him. His theory became more widespread and soon the whole world and soon everybody thought that the sun is the centre of the universe. Thanks to discoveries by Newton, Mach and Berkeley, we now know that this isn't true."

At 2/16/09 10:39 AM, WATCHurFLAG wrote: No one has ever said the sun is the center of the universe.

What about Copernicus? And Tycho Brahe?

Also: Wikipedia is sending out mixed signals here: the Dutch version of Heliocentrism says it states the Sun is the middle of the universe. The English version says it states that the Sun is the centre of the Solar System.

Response to: Wishes don't come true... Posted February 15th, 2009 in General

But what if the wishes did come true, but after a series of events that were pseudo-random? Like you wish for a skateboard. But instead of instantly appearing, you find one in the bushes or whatever and you decide that your wish has come true. What the wisher doesn't know, is that if he didn't wish for it, it also would've come true.

When I do that, it slowly takes a picture, that ends up being blurry...
And I want to get rid of autofocus? I thought I wanted it, so I wouldnt need to focus it myself...

Example:
When you press half way down and hold it, the camera takes a second, then focuses, then you can move the camera anywhere you want and quickly take a pic after its been held down.

Ah, well I don't think it can be done any other way.

Second: on my Fuji camera (S9600) there's little button with several camera's behind each other. This can be used to change the amount of pictures taken. It's located near the shutter button. Maybe try looking somewhere in that region?

Well, my grades are in. Three or four second chances: Cultural history, Descriptive geometry, Materials and Sociology. Also, 17 on my philosophy exam. Woo! Since this and Sociology are combined (although not in a 1-1 ratio, but more 2-1 Sociology-Philosophy, I think) I've got a 12 in total. The biggest bummer was that all of my exams where I failed, I failed with 9/20. It was a serious 'aww, fuck...'

This also remains the problem with the Big Bang. What was before that? And before that? And before that? It keeps on going, and turtles all the way down isn't the answer.

If you had to choose between your life as it is now--you'll never be any better off than you are at this moment--or a life where you would become President of the United States (or whatever the highest public office is in your country) but you get assassinated a year before leaving office, which would you choose?

Life as it is. I doubt I would be able to change much in only three years.

2. Would you rather be the greatest genius of all time but so beyond people's comprehension that you'd never appreciated until long after your death or a person who is perceived as a genius in his own time but is later thought of as a mediocre hack who was overrated?

The first. I don't want to be famous in my lifetime. It's only a hassle.

3. Would you rather have an ugly sexual partner who was immensely satisfying in bed but embarassing (in that people know you're fucking someone so ugly) or a beautiful lover who sucked in bed but made others deeply envious of you?

I have no clue. If I love her, I don't think it would matter much.

4. Would you rather be the lead singer of an extremely mediocre but popular rock band or the world's greatest poet with a small fan following?

The poet, again, being famous is annoying.

5. If you had a chance to open one of two doors and one door led to the fulfillment of all your dreams and the other had an ax murderer who would chop you into pieces as soon as you you opened it, would you choose to open a door? (You don't know which door contains what)

No. Fulfilling dreams is about working to have them fulfilled. Otherwise there is no point in having them.

6. If by killing yourself all of your enemies would be destoyed as well, would you kill yourself?

No. I don't have enemies.

7. If you had to take a car trip with either vietnam vet with serious mental health problems and had a gun on his person at all times or a conservative Christian who passed judgment on everying you did, who would you choose?

The Vietnamese vet. I think I could still becom friends with him whereas the Christian bloke would be downright annoying.

8. If you could obtain immortality by stomping a little girl's pet kitten to death before her crying eyes every Christmas, would you do it?

No, immortality is overrated.

9. If you loved someone with all your heart and they hated everything about you, would you shorten their life by 10-years if it meant they would love you in return?

No.

10. If you died and went to Hell and it was every bit as horrible as the Christians say it is and the devil offered you a one year reprieve from the agony of Hell for each person you tempted to damnation, would you take his deal?

No. This agony is eternal so it wouldn't matter if I did: eventually there would be no people left for me to tempt, so it wouldn't be worth the hassle.
