Reason 3.0 is a set of softsynths, samplers and sequencer. Very powerful stuff, but you need to know quite a bit about music to get into it.

I'm going to be a hipocrit now.

If a track in the charts sounds like video game music, and you go (naughtly) to a music download webpage what will its genre be? It won't be 'video game', thats for sure.

Response to: Guitar Simulators Posted March 26th, 2006 in Audio

Not true. One time, I recorded a 'guitar' by playing all the chords one by one while being taught from a website. I then just glued them all together and made it sound sweet.

While newgrounds was down, I started and finished an 8 page piece of coursework.

If newgrounds was up, I doubt I would have even started it.

You can buy each of the tracks for a dollar each ammounting to 6 dollars, though you can buy them all as one for 10... wtf.

Self advertising is bad for you.

Zenon, you should know better.

Fact:

It's cheaper to buy a guitar and a quality mic than a guitar synthesizer with the same quality output.

I actually understand reason, but I just hate using it. It just takes too long... I could do a piece that would take me 2 weeks on Reason to make that I could have done easier and faster on FL in 2 days or less.

FL all the way.

No song i've ever made on reason has taken me more than 3 days. You must be doing it wrong :P

Seriously though, think about what it would be like if you owned the rights to a national anthem, and could charge loyalties each time they were played...

Either you would:

1: End up with a country paranoid over playing their national anthem

or

2: Become extremely rich.

Same applies to christmas songs.

Start saving for an SM58 microphone, they're perfect for micing up amps, also get a soundblaster live, which has the ability to live preview all audio input.
Actually, the SM-57 is better for micing amps because it's uni-directional ;)

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen anyone mic an amp with a 58.

In all honesty, most of the concerts I prepare are on a tight budget, and 58's are all that are to hand. Either way, they'll both function.
