I'm just recognizing the site which inspired me to create TxMafia. Everyone can complain that it is a rip-off. I do it for personal gain, and I enjoy doing all the php coding and graphic design. Hacha.

Is this still going on? What's wrong with healthy competition? Would you prefer that McDonalds was the only place to get burgers, simply because it was the first the fully market them? Or the banning of all Linux and Unix systems because Microsoft was the first to license a GUI OS. It's just silly. In the end, it is about promoting the artists. The best way to promote your movies or games is to get it out to a lot of portal sites that cater to a variety of tastes. That's why other portals exist.

It isn't that hard, first off. Sites such as PHPBB even have hacks to start your own flash portal. I think the major hurdle is obtaining ample webspace to host all the movies. Bandwidth is also a major issue. Take some time to learn PHP or PERL, readup on MySQL or SQL. It'll eventually come naturally. You can't expect to build one in a day. In the mean time, visit newgrounds.com and txmafia.com! *wink*

To think I was such an ass 17 months ago. Seems like not that long ago too that I started TxMafia. I thought this post was 4 years old until I saw the date and I was like, 'Woah, I was a jerk then!' Now look at me, I support NG and like it.

Every place has bad members, its the nature of life. 90% of the world is full of ass holes. And even if they weren't assholes, they are still people who will disagree with your opinion.

I actually don't recall being upset. But thanks for fessing up that you did it. Tom was waiting for me to get a list of who did it. He promised to erase the accounts of those people since he doesn't want to be responsible for the degredation of other sites.

Its funny because I'm a level 10 NGer, I'm a well known Clock and own TxMafia. I spread them all!

Well obviously, some of my members are going to not like NG. Can't be avoided. I personally don't dislike NG, its just hard to frequent this site when I have several of my own to keep up on. I am sick of some of its members though and just kind of bummed I can't ever run into all the classy NGers people don't notice.

Hopefully Tom will take the initiative to delete your account after wasting my time and his. I didn't appreciate coming back from vacation to have to clean my site.

The fact that you don't even have grounds for this behavior. You can't copy and past server side coding just like that for one. For two, they use PHP and my Cell Block is coded in Perl. So before you let your ignorant self wash over my site again, put an ounce of thought into your writing.

Ah, yeesh guys. I never started NG to be an NG clone, so stop talking about it. The ideas of portals and message boards were around about a decade before NewGrounds. NG wasn't even the first Flash portal, it just became the most popular. For all you guys know, I could of been cloning Flash Kit. In fact however, I never cloned anyone.

And despite what you all say, I still take pride in coding the system myself for my site. It comes down to a simple fact, if you love NG, participate and spread the love of NG, if you love another site, spread its love.

You all are just being malicious to other sites who are trying to do something they enjoy, host movies and have a community. Just stay in your cage if it doesn't suit your every need.

I'd like to personally thank Tom for clearing the posts that talked negatively of TxMafia or accused it of being the site.

Though we don't show any links to NewGrounds anywhere on the web site, I do encourage my members to post on NewGrounds if they wish to get their work out to the grand public.

My site is run for personal reasons, and the desire for a new community. Not for money. I have no intend of prohibitting the word of NG on my site, nor do I let my members talk negatively of it or any other site.

Sounds very cool Tommy Boy. Just make sure that replies or reviews with pictures don't show the pictures on the page where the link to movie is (just bogs it down and makes things unnorganized). Also, if they aren't reviewing and just talking, make sure that one doesn't show as well. You already thought of this so I'm just blabbing.

I had the benefit to talk to Tom the other day and see his perspective on the progress or decline on NG. Makes you feel sorry for the guy. You work so hard to be stopped by something such as server space and bandwidth.

Yes, TxMafia is doing great lately. Several clocks have earned the respect of TxM and vise versa. Many new movies are out and I am working with another guy to code the XML Flash chat system. Hopefully it will all go as smoothly as planned.

The second server which TxMafia will be moving too crashed again (SQL reasons, but SQL never crashes, ask NG or any other site! *SARCASM*). So I had to take a few days to fix that.

I'm reworking the site to be more story based to pull you away from the real world.

Latest issues. The www.txmafia.com seems to be masking some of the flash access files so I need to fix that this weekend. SQL running great now. Still no Cron Jobs!!

Well, SQL is taking longer than I would have hoped. I'm still working on setting up a lot of the stuff on the new server. Working with the DNS nameserver today. Loaded up the SQL server yesterday.
