I agree. Instead of cussing out everyone and whining about the economy, how about actually getting off your bum and enjoy the holidays for a different reason other than corporate sponsored bullcrap?
Man, I bet you also cut yourself because you think the world sucks, OP.

More than likely your card's an integrated one. You won't be able to play graphic-heavy games, but you'll still be able to play some good games. If anything the Source engine will work on it, so games like Half-Life and TF2 might work well. And Goldsrc games will definitely work on your system (the original Half-Life, Counter-Strike 1.6, etc.). Again as someone else posted we won't be sure until you tell us the graphics card. But there's still a wide variety of games available to you even if you have a crappy card (like me; mine's an Intel GMA X4500MHD, a balls-tastic card but still able to play some gems).

If only there were a website that scanned your specs and told you which games are compatible with your machine.

Oh wait.

Hey, guys, let's derail yet another thread over PC/console supremacy!

Back on topic, I haven't really played much of Castle Crashers to fully enjoy it. Just looks like another beat-em-up game to me. It's definitely challenging, though, and has replay value.

It depends highly on what you mean. I.E. - extremists. There's extremists for everything: theism and atheism. Those kind of beliefs are dangerous IMO because they will go to any means necessary to get you to believe in them, even violence. It's not so much as "is religion a bad thing" but "how much is too far". And extremists prove that there is a thing as taking religion too far.

Still, I sorta agree with you. You have to admit that whoever wrote the Bible had some pretty dang good moral fiber. But seeing how this is Newgrounds and that 99% of them are atheists, I doubt anyone will give a crap or call you a dick and that "u belif a lie".

So inb4 when that happens.
Response to: Longest time playing a game? Posted December 24th, 2010 in Video Games

I know I've spent a lot of time with each Pokemon game (except Ruby and Emerald. For some reason I really hate Ruby and Emerald), probably 40 or more hours.

I've also clocked in TF2 for a total of 34 hours. Pretty good for me seeing how I'm not all that into FPS games. And God knows how long I spent in Forge Mode in Halo 3 and modding Half-Life.

Mature game =/= good game. Games don't have to have blood or guts to be fun. If you really want to see Miyamoto's dark side, play Majora's Mask or Twilight Princess. That's all the darkness you'll ever see from Nintendo, to be honest.

Response to: Christmas overload Posted December 23rd, 2010 in Video Games

Hey guys, let's derail yet another thread over PC/console supremacy!

BACK ON TOPIC, I'm going insane with these sales on Steam. I've already got Super Meat Boy, Counter-Strike (1.6 AND Source, as well as Day of Defeat and Ricochet in a bundle), Monkey Island 2, and GTA Vice City for hardly nothing. And I also got Onslaught from WiiWare to dust off my Wii. Pretty decent arcade-type shooter, it's a tad repetitive but still fun. Might get Reach and Wii Sports Resort later.

Response to: Nintendo 3DS Posted December 23rd, 2010 in Video Games

I'm getting it. That's actually why I'm not getting a new DS. My old DS Lite was broken. At first it had that cursed hinge break, but it didn't affect gameplay so I didn't do anything. Then the top screen failed and was solid white. THEN when things possibly couldn't get any worse the battery is dead. Even when I charged it and plugged it in it still wouldn't turn on. And then the top part completely busted apart. So then I'm like "Screw this" and threw it in the garbage.

So instead of getting a new DS, I thought I'd wait for the 3DS (since it's just around the corner) and kill two birds with one stone: I get a next-gen handheld from Nintendo and can play all my old DS games again.

Response to: Must have games on steam Posted December 23rd, 2010 in Video Games

Any and all Valve games (Orange Box, Counter-Strike, Left 4 Dead, Day of Defeat, etc.) are a must.

Also, I'd recommend some of the indie games. They're cheap and hecka fun (VVVVVV, Super Meat Boy, Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, And Yet It Moves, etc.).

Good graphics =/= good game. It's a game from 1998, what do you expect? All games to magically support 1080p and have 5.1 surround sound and ultra-realistic environments? Half-Life did a pretty good job without those.

Response to: Video games are devolving Posted December 22nd, 2010 in Video Games

There's PLOTS in games now?

jk

Gaming rarely focused on story as their main shining point. It's always been like that. Some genres like adventure and RPG have decent to great stories (seriously, play Monkey Island and you'll know). Every other genre... meh. I mean, it's just until the late 90s to early 2000s to which FPS games had a plot that didn't involve mindless violence and became more Hollywood-styled with it. Developers focus more time on the actual gameplay than the story.

This. Nobody ever agrees with anything. There are people who hate good popular titles and people who love terrible games that no one likes. Everyone's "perfect game" would be different. Some it's a platformer, others a hi-res GTA which the OP wants, and others just something different.

My perfect game is already out, too.

Hear hear. I hate FF12. The battle system was horrid and felt like a boring, broken MMO. That's what killed the game for me. That and the art style, while it was okay it didn't appeal to me.

Your PC elitist attitude is really starting to annoy me. You hate on both consoles and now handhelds. Geez, is all you play PC? Playing only PC and claiming it's better than everything else doesn't make your dick any bigger. Yes, it's much advanced in graphical power, that's because it's running on technology of the now instead of hardware available five years ago.

Also, laptops are bloody horrible for gaming. Even if you manage to snag an Alienware laptop (which are balls expensive compared to what you can get with building a desktop with the same specs), it would have horrid battery life and a short life span than those of desktop PCs. Don't get a laptop for gaming. Ever.
