Well, the way his cannon is made, it's not so much a barrel as much as a chamber for fucking shittons of plasma energy, or something.
I guess I should mention this is Cyborg from Teen Titans (that's also my reference)
It's going to be glowing to a point where you wouldn't see down the "barrel" anyways :P but thanks for the input :D

Also, @Iamsofuckingcool: thanks :P

Very special thanks to Lovingthedark for helping me fix him up. It has undergone many, many changes (some more noticeable than others), and now I am very happy with how the lineart is. So much so, that I have moved onto flats.
Not much progress, per se, but i've been working on the background, which shall be unveiled soon enough ;)

So I'm eating stuffing for breakfast because my teeth hurt and that's the first thing I scavenged but its cornbread stuffing and so its disgusting, but I usually like stuffing, but it's usually chicken stuffing.
I don't actually know what the difference is, ingredient-wise, since its a "pour-water-into-the-damn-thing" stuffing, but the taste is horrible different D:

on the last pic you posted its a bit weird that the outline gets lighter towards the top while the fill gets darker... Typically i'd suggest having both get darker/lighter, but you can actually play with increased/decreased contrast between line and fill to highlight the important parts of the drawing. You would want to have decreased contrast at the bottom and increased contrast near the head then though.

Thanks! I had tried to copy something I've seen somewhere (from memory) and... well, it turns out I was doing it wrong anyways. xP

I guess it's how you want to go about it, but usually boulders aren't a perfect circle. You can just draw your best attempt at a circle, and then move the pixels around from there to get desired roundness.
What program are you using?
Also, I shall link this again: Shading Tutorial
It goes over how to shade a boulder, and may come in handy for your game.

Response to: Pixel art, how do I create you? Posted June 27th, 2011 in Art

A good pixel art program is GraphicsGale. It's free, and you can also create some nifty pixel .gifs.
As for tutorials, Gumby has a nice tutorial on isometric pixel art, and you can also find some pointers on fur, rocks, and shading. You can also browse through other pixel tutorials on deviantART; there are some handy ones.

Of course, google is a great way to find tutorials as well :)

There aren't many "professionals" on newgrounds, and, judging by what you have submitted to the portal, I don't think professionals would even bother.

Response to: Critiques Posted June 27th, 2011 in Art

Yeah, I really like what you have going here :)
I can't say much more than what Kuma and Melmo mentioned, except for what really sticks out like a sore thumb to me is the girl that is pointing (wearing generic japanese school clothes I think?). Perspectives are really hard to accomplish successfully (many people have the same problem, myself very much included). A useful tool is to draw a dot where the vanishing point is, and extend lines in all directions (using a ruler/line tool :P) and work from there. It won't magically fix your problems, but it should be easier :)
Just in case what I'm saying here is gibberish, here is a quick tutorial on perspectives, and, while I'm at it, foreshortening (also here)

Post more art too :P

In other news, I *might* take on a solo project, similar to Dave's art forum thing, but with gijinkas (omg dont kill me ash!)
Because, you guys all know how the collab failed, I dont think Danopus is coming back, I cant run a collab (even if people were up for it), and, frankly, I've sketched out around 30 already, most of which have already been drawn for the collab. That isnt to say expect anythin soon (except perhaps sketches and wips in my thread), plus I have other obligations with animations (what? Oh nothing...)
Just an idea! :P

I expect to finish my flash by the deadline, and if not, well, would the short clip (+ what I am working on now) be sufficient? That would total around 5-10 seconds for my part. If i finish what I want to, though, it may be anywhere from 10-20 seconds (I'm trying to keep it short :P)

Response to: Im Just Starting To See Colors Posted June 25th, 2011 in Art

Well, seeing as you're going for a lineless approach (at least, that's what it looks like), you should probably elaborate on Warbrain's answer. Make a new layer above your sketch, and lower your sketch's opacity, then trace the lines (it doesnt have to be a really refined sketch), block in your colors, and paint from there.
While you're at it, you can use your hands or stock photos to get the anatomy down. Your painting may be great but if the anatomy is off (or vice versa) then the result will be unpleasing. :)
