Just remember the awfulest terrorist act in this age, do you remember any weapon in the September 11? I just remember with pain a couple of planes.
And don't forget: you can't say Bush's war for freedom, but Bush's war for oil
this guy is saying:
what is the point of the war over weapons of mass destruction IF the reasoning behind attacking IRAQ 9-11 the only weapons were box cutters, and planes
and he said the war is for oil not for terror.

you're right but they are... and throughout high school people will be having sex so i mean abstinence isnt really that great of an idea...

I thought sex ed was taught in 9th and up... but hey, although THEY SHOULDNT be haveing sex, many people's first time is when they are like 13-14... which is 8th grade...

Kerry has huge name recognition so far he is the 'front-runner' according to the important people in the party... every poll has lieberman on top though... which sucks cuz he's a republican in disguise.
Braun if Sharpton drops out will grab teh black vote thus making her a winner in south carolina... (winning means doing better than expected)
Lieberman is a great guy, and would make a decent president, for a dem, but he wouldn't win simply because he's jewish, and his religious obligations would be viewed by the citizens as a hampering on his ability to do his job.
he's a republican in disguise... he had a total make-over during the '00 elections... braun and kucinich jumping in along with the half dozen still thinking (graham-FL, clark, dodd-ct, biden-Del and 2 more) the more moderate/conservative wing of the party may get lieberman elected...
Sharpton is just an idiot, and we'd be better off making Chris Rock president like in "Head of State."
Gephardt is the only one with a real shot at beating Bush...but he probably won't.
gephardt is a bron loser... only thing he has won is his district AND iowa in '88... and in '04 he's not even guaranteed victory in iowa... which would cause his chances to disappear faster than a plate of french fries in front of a fat kid...
The democrats really are calling in the B Team for 2004, the only heavyweights they have left are Gore and Daschle, and neither of them are going to run.
B team my ass... let's not forget clinton was a no name from a small state then he was president for 8 years... dont underestimate the power of a democratic contender to never be heard of until the election year
not only that how many people knew of W. in texas before 1999 when he said he was going to run? lets not forget he did screw up 2 businesses and was only governor of texas for 6 years before running... i mean not exactly the strongest of guys to run... whereas mccain was in a war, and a 2 term senator... so ya know, expect the unexpected in political primaries and caucuses
Oh yeah, Clinton needs to be removed from power, NOW.
which clinton??? cuz in case u didnt notice bill has no power other than the fact the media still loves him... hilary is running in '08... cuz ya know thats what she's waiting for...
why not call it pro-war...

well hey, gimme a call if u want to run...
personally, i think soliders are the craziest people... think about it, no matter the reasoning for joining there is the possibility of ya know being in a situation that you're being shot at... doesnt seem to sane to me.
although i have to say while watching the news i hear the same thing from amry men all the time, when asked about a pending use of force... something to the effects 'we will be ready if and when we are needed' OR 'if we are told to go into battle then we will be ready to do our duty...' (ha du-ty) anywho to anyone that signs up.. enjoy and thanks, and to anyone that doesnt just remember soliders are protecting your right to not have to join the military...

Bush's ability to turn the world's eyes from Osama Bin Laden to Saddam Hussein in such short time is one of the most amazing feats of political flexibility ever. I have to agree, though it's really not a good thing. Now Bin Laden is alive and mad that we've forgotten about him.
well if i were a smarter person i would figure bin laden has to do soemthing to get his cause back on the forefront ...
but if u really think about it how would a terrorist act really help his cause? any attack would most likely be fuel to war fire bush has set... giving him the reason to attack saddam...

We've seen what dishonest politicians and people like that bring. I'll run a fair, no-negative-ads campaign. You'll all be around to see it.
sadly, if this is the case then u would lose... the more people say they hate negative ads the more they work... not only that what makes u think your opponent will play by the same rules?

so like i said before, YOUR theory is SCREW EVERYONE ELSE
so u'll help people when its in ur best interest...
well taxes are what funds the country... they let the military function, the satelites in the sky work, everything the gov't provides is from taxes... and its not your money, after the government takes the money from the PAYCHECK... money that you never see, it becomes teh governments money...it doesn't matter when the government gets to your money, that doesn't make it any more right. the government currently takes way too much from paychecks to fund things that not everyone needs.
well the government does a ton of stuff, personally I dont see the big deal in paying taxes it sucks yeah but if we dont pay taxes WHERE will the government get its money??? UR generousity???
The theory that the government has your money is like going to a store buying somethign then asking for money back. Next time you go to Wal-mart or something buy an item, then ask for 50% of the money you gave back (that doesnt mean $20 for a $10 item... i mean of the money that pays for the item)that little analogy might apply if i was forced to buy something. since i choose to buy something from a store, your example is irrelevant.
you're belief in choice is odd... im going to say that you are pro-life BUT are all about YOUR OWN CHOICE... makes sense...
and you choose to pay taxes, by living in this country you know taxes will be taken out of ur paycheck... so if you don't like it then leave...
basically what ur telling me is screw everyone else...
do you have life insurance? car insurance? or health insurance? Life insurance isnt used until you die, car insurance isnt used until an accident and health insurance isnt used until you're sick... so why have these things if you arent using them???you truely are an idiot. you choose to buy life insurance. you choose to buy health insurance. you don't choose to use government health care.
hey there guy, dont start with the name calling... its the first sign that a person has run out of valid points of their own...
you're views are much like that of a libertarian
the governments purpose of being is to protect its citizens, by doing this and having welfare programs, America protects the poor.i hope you're not saying that the rich shouldn't be protected as well. you are nothing but a moronic crying democrat. the government is there to govern. it's the people's job to provide for themselves. it's not my or the government's fault if they fail to do so.
again name calling thus making me think you have run out of valid points... MY point it what about those that are trying their best to provide for themselves BUT just can't seem to make the leap into middle class... their are people that actually need welfare cuz they are working 2 jobs and still cant afford things... remember for every 1 ass using the system there are many many more people needing the system
i'm not saying screw everyone else, i'm saying you are not my resposibility. why should you pay for me? why should i pay for you? the reason, no matter how "compassionate" it may seem, is unfair and should be taken out of all law.
but u dont control where taxes go... unless u are on the finance/appropriations committee in the HOUSE but my guess is you arent, so either vote for people with ur views, live with it OR leave the US...

what would kim jong il have to lose by nuking LA? obviously if he knows he's done then why wouldn't he jsut say fuck the US, if im dieing im going out in style...
:If they fired one nuke at us, you can be sure that we would completely decimate their country. I say we call their bluff, and make a show of force. I'll bet they would back down.
but how do u risk it? this situation is worse than the IRAQ situation...
perhaps a trade is in order... we give teh country food and energy, and oil along with them giving us their nukes and let inspectors back in...
personally i dont see how this would make the US seem weak, and BUSH could say I put the AMERICAN people in front of pride, because they are most important...
also you state: "Does 9/11 still ring in your ears?"
it was Al-Qaeda that flew the planes into the buildings not Iraq...
"Apparently, the loss of over 3,000 innocent Americans was an acceptable loss. It is insulting, hateful, and a spit and slap in the face to anyone affected by 9/11 to let that day go without taking action."
then lets get Osama, the mastermind behind 9-11... that is something else people are protesting 'get Osama not Saddam'
"How do I make the connection between 9/11, and Iraq? If you've studied even the NEWS recently, you know that the U.S and even the puppet-leaders in the UN have evidences which prove that Iraq has ties to al-Qaida."
Like the fake dossier that britian provided teh US and Powell read to teh Security Council? That paper was stolen from a british student and handed to Powell to read to the UN...
"Not just ties, in actuality, but blatant support."
The US supported Al-Qaeda when it was the muhjahaddein in Afghanistan fighting the Soviets.
"to uphold international law"
like when the US invades a nation (Iraq) that has not done anything to the US...
Bush is using 9-11 to get this war to happen... personally i've given up trying to stop a war in Iraq cuz a)its inevitable and b)i honeslty don't care... but what happens afterwards?
my prediction: US invades, Saddam uses chem weapons, US nukes baghdad, Iran sends in troops to protect teh Shia in the south, the US attacks Iran saying they are invading... then Iran says no the troops were for humanitarian aid only... causing Iran's leftist movement in the students (the groups that 30 years ago put them into power, is beginning to try to unseat them...) to a halt... saddam is killed, Saudi Arabia praises this, Al-Qeada (called a different name) cells in Saudi Arabia revolt against the monarchy, the monarchy flees, Saudi Arabia is called teh Islamic Republic of Arabia, the new govt promises to trade oil with the world and does, but then buys 3 nukes from pakistan... then shuts off the oil... and OSAMA comes into Arabia claiming to be the new ruler... and that is wehre we will stand, in 2006...
At 2/18/03 12:36 AM, Thorfalcon wrote: 1. will you please prove to me your claim that this war is about oil?
there are a few reasons
1) Bush and Cheney's past are riddled with connections to Oil
2) Iraq is on top of the 3rd or 4th largest oil reserve in the world, North Korea has no oil and everyone knows they have nukes, yet the US does nothing about this.
granted they aren't super great but they help make a logical connection (despite what u think)that we are going after Iraq purely for oil.
2. how can you possibly call bush stupid?
yes he went to Harvard and Yale and was quite good in the national guard during 'nam... but his daddy went there (granted im well aware of the 1250+ Bush got in a time of not inflating grades)
also the Bush= stupid thing is something Bush uses to his advantage... in his first National Correspondence Dinner (something to that effect) he showed his old report card, saying 'to all you C+ kids out there, you too can be president' which is true if their dad was a president and u have the ability to raise massive amounts of money...
3. Why do protesters take to the streets when they don't fully understand the situation... for more on this one, read the comment posted at the bottom of my rant by clicking on the little text that says "1 comment"
granted their are some people that don't fully understand the issue... but lets not generalize it into every protestor... there are many that believe that a war in Iraq is wrong, and they were doing their constitutionally given right to assemble peacefully to protest.
In you're rant you wrote: "They do grotesquely unspeakable things to the human body. Saddam is making these gasses, and testing them on the Kurdish people, AND on his own people."
This reasoning is null and void in any arguement for a war... on september 10th the Taliban beat there women... and we did nothing, for 3 years before 9-11 the US shrugged its shoulders at this inhumane practice... (personally i feel that the Kurds should have their own country but that is a different story for a different day)
what do u mean there are no intelligent posts??? there are they just disagree with ya...

well let's not forget the purpose of the UNITED NATIONS is to protect small nations that can't protect themselves... what you suggest is voiding teh UN, which in course would make teh world even more dangerous then it is now...
I will laugh at the French after we're finished, when the Iraqi people are dancing in the streets, happy to finally be free, and our troops are uncovering massive numbers of weapons of mass destruction. I really hope the French will be proud of themselves after that.
the French wont care... just like everyone after saddam is ousted... way to go best military in the world against Iraq... then what... that is the key question no one thinks about, do we help the new nation or not??? Also, what happens to the old governments trade agreements, cuz France and Russia have tons of money involved in Saddams govt... and who do we attack next?
I have a question to everyone saying Saddam has killed his own people... AND??? granted it sucks for the Kurds and Shia are being killed for no reason, but against the Taliban, the guys that beat their women we didnt care... FOR 3 years noone did a DAMN thing againt the taliban then AFTER the US is attacked then we take out the TALIBAN... Saddam is a menace to his people, let them deal with it...
Also still hasn't been proven that Saddam has any WMD weapons... and don't even think about telling me that Powell going to the UN sec. council with that phony dossier from Britian is proof, they stole it from a student and he did it on the Gulf War...
they will abstain, if and when teh new resolution comes to the UN security council...
they aren't stupid... the US invades Iraq, the US will win the war, then the new Iraqi gov't comes into power and France and Russia with their oil contracts will pay for the this new government... my guess is the new government will be weak at best...
