SO the easiest way for a revolution in Iran is to do nothing...

I would love to see us leave Iraq and for the Iraqis to attempt to construct their own government, I'm pretty sure that it would be a catastrophe, and if they were to set up a communist government I would wet my pants....laughing so hard.

they're government would be like that of Iran's... THEN the US would have a much stronger Iran to deal with... since it now owns iraq...

but it wont happen... everyone is forgetting the politics behind the decision to stay... and until the body bags start rising the US will control Iraq...

we wont leave... if the US leaves Bush looks real bad... for talking all about installing democracy in the mid-east... then leaving when it gets too hard... not going to happen...

i give the US backed democracy 5 years tops... until the people overthrow it and set up an iranian govt...

Typically I see only young teens and the like argueing that cheaper drugs/legalize drugs etc... is the way to go----I find that they are so stupid--we have enough difficulties involved with alcohol and yet they want to introduce something that is far mor potent?

fine... this is just for u FUNKbrs and that guy that said he sees few if any people being able to debate both sides rationally and not get all emotional...

drugs are used to keep people alive, since more people are alive, there is less resources to go around for the world... (i actually started a topic like this about a month ago) Thomas Malthus, stated the worlds population would increase to fast that the worlds ability to provide enough food for everyone would fail...

without the use of drugs social security would be a lot better, since less old people would mean less money needed for social security, and a whole bunch of other programs that help the sick wouldnt be needed...

50 years of hatred all summed up into one thing, surrree. And why exactly were they demonstrating against the shah? Could it be because he was oppressive?

thats what i said... that was my first line: 'iranian shah was quite oppressive'... hence them demonstratiing against the shah... but the PM wasnt pro-west, so the CIA paid for a demonstration

thats what started the hatred which exploded in the 1970's... and IF the admin keeps its mouth shut... within 10 years the pro-west students will be changing the system of govt...

That why were called DEVIL's advocates. You dont have to disagree with people who are right, you just have to give them enough oppostion to solidify their beliefs. The same rules of respect and ettiquette that are followed by the PC apply to the DAG.

hey u get into an arguement about abortion and play dag... and the other person will dislike u for about a week... and thats if they liked u to begin with... not that im against taking the opposing view... just saying...

how would you go about running the country... NOW keep in mind that politics is politics so if ur idea is too radical (kiling all muslims, circumventing the constitution entirely, replacing legislature with muppets, ), it will get shot down...

im just curious to see how some people calling for the destruction of welfare will go about doing it...
First, I would have a "carry a big stick" forigen policy.
Anyone who fucked with the country would be blown off the face of the earth.
Don't like it? Then I kill you too.

i really enjoy the lack of having free speech in ur world...

I would also return Isreal to the Palestinians, By force if it came to that.

easiest/bloodiest way to solve the problem...

Secondly, I would eliminate affirmitive action, but still keep a government watch out for racisim.
Jobs and places in college should be earned by merit and merit alone.
Nothing else should matter.

it'd be nice... but it wont change... u will still need to know the right person to get a job... and that is something that cant be taken away...

Thirdly, I would crack down on things like gangs and drugs. If push came to shove, I would see how those gangsters liked a couple of armored battalions in "the hood"

good ole martial law never hurt anyone... except those jews in warsaw but who gives a fuck about them...

Also, I would go to war with the major drug producing countries, Completley wipe out their government, and put in someone who wouldn't smuggle shit into america.

good idea... sadly wont happen... y risk american lives to stop drugs... and there will always be a way to smuggle drugs into the country... always...

To help clear up un-employment, I would restart the public works program.

ok... now my mind hurts... everything up until this point was pretty right wing... then this... a socialist program... i need to lie down...

People would get jobs building things and whatnot.
One of the projects would be a line of defenses across the mexican border. I would then gaurd it with 10,000 troops at all times. They would have orders to kill anyone who tries to cross the line without a passport.

ah good back to the right-wing stuff... now it all makes sense...

I would deny all illegals citizenship, and force them to go back to their own countries.
It would be illegal to give a non-citizen a job or admit them into a school.

yeah wouldnt want to help out the less fortunate or anything... and about the jobs... how many wanna be a landscaper? show of hands people?

I would strengthen social security, and enact a law so money could not be taken from it.
Seniors spend their whole lives working for the good of the country. They deserve something in return.

hmm.... again with teh jumping on the side of socialist programs... but hey it will be broke in 20 years so either way

I would push for alternative fuels such as Hydrogen.

have fun...

I would consolidate our allies, keep good relations with them, and listen to NATO.
I would also work to try and pay back our national debt.

well that seems to be the more left-leaning thing to do...

I would raise the fuel tax, while lowering oil prices, thusly bringing lots of new money into the government.

super-duper leftist thing to do... this is weird as hell... u do know that the companies would make less money right... and im sure they would be quite happy with that...

This money would be used to bolster the sagging education system.
I would put a great emphisis on grammar, spelling, history and geography.

the money that u get from putting more taxes on gas, but have cheaper prices...

does anyone understand economics... would that work? other than being politically impossible...

Oh, and I would make the national anthem "Engel" by Rammstein.

yeah nothing like a bunch of very right-wing GERMAN guys writing the AMERICAN national anthem...
