nope - simply being on the site for 4 years doenst make you a regular - regular participation does :P - it usually takes at least a year of constant participation.

But, you said you taking virginity makes me an audio regular, and according to you about the toronto meet up, I'm now a regular. What the hell is up with that mang.

and the first regular just gets sex. It can go either way :P

The key has literally no significance if your working in a DAW.

However playing on the guitar means you're going to be forced to play very generic, beginner-based chords unless you REALLY practice hand maneuvers and transitions to very awkward positions.

Hence why country is all based in the keys of C, Amin, Amaj, and G.

And by God's all mighty power, never openly denounce accidentals (notes out of the key) in songs, because their important in every type of music EXCEPT generic rock.

I find it funny you should say that. I taught myself, but I tuaght myself PIANO. And most of what I said was jsut stuff I picked up as I played. i had, very basic theory, like hit the white notes only and nothing will sound bad, and what a cmaj chord was. The rest I developed as I played. Odd that you say this seems like guitar. Thanks though.

MONTHLY audio contest.
That name is way too misleading.
I think that maestrorage was too busy with the last MAC. To be honest, I'd prefer to have them bi-monthly, I like having the whole month to work on things, whereas if it's on a month by month basis, it won't be as exclusive, and people would probably rush to submit something for each comp.
That's what I think anyways.

It's not that, he just can't think of anything to come up with. I was trying to help him with it at the NG toronto meet up. But nothing came of it. Either way. I TURNED 19 TODAY!

At the moment it seems you have no idea how to make music, but like to do it nonetheless. Refer to the link in my siggy on how to make music, then send me a pm when YOu come up with something, even if it's simple, it can still be good. best of luck.

I wonder how long before this thread gets rucklo-cked. and on that note...zero bombs...well whether it's just him or hundereds of others, the fact is, it evens out the ratings, if no one zero bombed...well there would be too much highly rated stuff, pretty much, it would be the exact same as now, just that instead of the top music artists having 4.51...it'd be like 4.8 and the crap ones would have in the 4.5 range...Nonetheless This has half turned into an audio advertisement thread.

Yeah I'm sorry for not posting a link, I was trying, but I run dial up (it's hard enough to upload music...dear god) and every time I tried to open the page, my browser would freeze on me. I'm pretty certain it's canadian citizens residing in canada Nintechno. Besides that, I figured I would submit originally, but I don't have the sounds or quality capable of making something worthwhile, I mean I might try, but I figured I should at least give myself some major competition, with their beautiful sounding VSti's and soundfonts and such. But yes, once again Best of luck, and for once america shall miss out. Wohoo!!!

So for those of you who are too busy being locked up in there rooms makin music on the computorz, CBC canada is hosting a contest with a grand prize of $100 000 for the next person to make a theme song for hockey night in canada. I'd link a site, but my internegt is being ghey atm. Pretty much, It would have to be a 30 second song for the program. Best of luck to everyone, and don't forget to share.

For me, I use emotion, Literally, my best songs come from times when I"m angry or sad or something along those lines. I got to my piano, I hit a note, and play without remorse. Mostly it's random stuff, but at the end I feel better, and my most amazing songs I've wrriten come from that style of. And don't worry too much about theory, it comes as you play. Little things that you recognize after awhile and you know that you can do certain things and you can't do others. That's how I learned, and I mean, I"m gonna take some advanced stuff that I wouldn't understand no matter how hard I tried. But ya. Emotion is a great inspiration to make music.

It flew off but he just got it's tail. :P The next two weeks are going to be huge anticapation for the upcoming collab song. ANd he still has to go to the other side of the country.

Ya...But he made up for it today remember? He kicked the one by Dundas square?

More details:

First off, I had my first expierence with VST's and I think I orgasmed about 9 times just lstineing to the works of layering etc. So far...The Collab sounds beyond amazing. NO teaser or hints though, YOu guy's will just have to wait until it's done. NOw back to details of people and such.

Brandon: Random guy Dan decided to bring along for the trip. Overall he's not a bad guy in the least, Except that he DOESN'T play music and thus had no purpose in the past two days. But still kept the hilarity flowing.

Milkman Dan: Quite a cool guy, Has some sick equipment that blows mine out the water, almost the Same keyboard though. I'm now inclined to buy Cubase and do some kick ass recordings. He's a joker for sure, and many a great ideas were spawned. Like making a drum kit with nothing but sushi plates and, chopsticks. Great great person Overall.

Chronamut: Besides the cockiness of calling my on EVERY NOTE that I messed up on, He's also a really fun person, and is great just because gay jokes are made from him, and to him. made the days just that much funnier.

And he's gay.

MaestroRage: I should make a song about him. The Audio artist of the year himself. He has the best possible exagerated asain accent in the world. oh, and he can make music too. Him and Chron, both were the two mouseclikers that came, but definately showed promise when the keyboard was needed. Him Shawn and I stuck it out while waiting for Dan for the first 5 hours because he messed up the plane tickets. and We had some very fun times. More hangouts with me and him shall be had.

Me? Well, I'll let the other guys say what they may about me, When the collab comes out my self whoring may bring me some publicity. but besides that, I just had one of the funnest times I've come across in a very long time. I came home, and adreaneline was literally runing through my body from the music making that was going down. and would LOVE to hang out with any one of these guys again. This has been one of the most eventful weekends of my life.

Thanks for everyone coming in this, and giving me such inspiration to continue with music making for my life and onwards. It was that great.

Last I checked I did my best to convince shawn, nd now he's coming, I'll be there for sure, and I'll try these VST's...but I'd really prefer to bring my own keyboard and cords for latency issues. Besdes that, I can't wait. I'll see you guys all on saturday.

Milkman, Give me a shout and ask for "Young Brad" when You call. I'll grab the details from you then.
Can't wait to see all you guys!!!

I haven't checked my actual range. But I know my voice is effed up for sure. I can hit a baritone/tenor but there is a certain section in my range where I can't sing, then At higher notes I can once again. but anything below "inbetweeen" or above that range, I pretty much suck. I'll release a song soon enough once I get a mic that has me singing in it. :P

What do you have to lose by trying out :D?!

I was just saying, Say you make an Album, Then get concerts going. Jazza's got me there though, Because those are my favorite pieces. It's what I stive for as well.

I found out a bit later that My dial up is NOT gonna load three of my best songs up in near enough time for my computer to last through. So if anyone Wants to make an account and uload my songs I'd love you all to death.
