I am continuously surprised by how gullible people can be. It seems to me that unless someone is given a reason to become skeptical it is human nature to believe what they are told. This year's NG April Fools was a good example.
Especially rich people who lived sheltered lives, people who grew up with a lot of money. You could be shocked at how gullible these people can be.
Children are the most gullible of all, and I was no exception. When I was very young a girl I knew, Rose, played a trick on me. It was a long time ago but basically she took me into this tent and shook it or something and said that we were traveling to a different dimension or something. When we came out of the tent she told me that even though everything looked the same we were actually in a different dimension and everyone in this world was actually an identical imposter, an alien.
The point is, I believed it and it kind of freaked me out. I forget all of the details because it was so long ago but that incident, among others, is one of the reasons I have become so skeptical.
Now the point of this thread is to describe incidents where you were tricked into believing something or you tricked someone into believing something. Or just discuss an incident showing human gullibility. Try to avoid ranting about religion, that is not the point.
