Yeah it's called rolls.

when you pic your calling (Rogue, Warrior, Mage or Cleric) there's 8 different specs you can choose, you can choose any of them up to a maximum of 3 per role and you can have 4 roles.

So if you were a tank you could switch to fully defensive, or if someone else is tanking, switch roles to a more DPS friendly spec.

Overall I'm not sure about the game, I've played the beta and enjoyed it thoroughly, but it does have many downsides via lots of bugs and stuff, however this was only in beta and could be drastically improved in main release.
