I'll try to make the mouth a bit bigger and I just saw the video, he explains it pretty well and I will be watching more tutorials about head angles before I start on my next face

I think it needs a bit more highlights as it is a bit flat at the moment and a little bit of shading would be nice as well. Overall it is quite decent to look at, just a bit lacking regarding some details. Are you planning on coloring this? Everything looks better with color in my opinion. Cheers!

This is what I have so far with colouring, tried shading it a bit more but it still seems flat
Or is it just because I've been staring at it so long that I keep seeing mistakes

I was originally not going to colour it but I might as soon as I'm satisfied with the grayscale

Can some1 please point out some things I missed maybe?

Good way to get inspired ? Posted September 5th, 2013 in Art

The last couple days I have had the feeling that I want to draw, the only issue is that I don't know what to draw. Nothing comes out not even when I try to randomly let my pen flow.

Now I was wondering if any1 knew a good way to get inspiration

*swoop shotgun away with left arm, grab brass knucles with right hand , punch to the throath turn to the left still holding onto the shotgun disarming*
I win in my perfect little world

At any rate, these forums aren't too kind to different tastes, 90's master race and shit. I personally don't care and think its rather unfair to judge an opinion like this but still, you might want to stay on YT. Sorry about all the hate posts though, it's kinda embarrassing really, wishing rape on someone for liking something you don't, that's just shameful.

That's how the crusades started, they didn't like their religion so they started to pilage and rape till they did

It wil never leave, well at least there's no pillage and raping going on on these forums just people try to strongly opress their believes on others

I would like to quote the Internet Rulebook of Rules
#34 If it exists, there is porn of it.

If it exsists, there is a porn of it, if there isn't there will be, there is NO exception to this rule as of now.

If they will ever block it on here it will exist somewhere else
If they deleted it off the internet there would be a page called bring back (enter here what they deleted)

Don't think there's anything you can do about it except block M and A in the art section

Ill just buy the nibs than don't wanna risk scratching

I personally wouldn't risk it though. And really; how long till you've worn out a nib? even if you burn through one each month, you should still be done with 15,- yearly... not really that big a deal I'd say. (you'd be spending more on paper if you used traditional mediums)

True I guess but a long time I read on an artists journal post that he found an alernative and it was much cheaper , just don't remember what it was and can't find the post anymore, also can't message him

Wacom pen nibs Posted February 25th, 2012 in Art

Not sure if this is the right forum this should be posted but i checked the others and it's kind of an art related question so...

So I have noticed that I burn through my regular black pen nibs rather quickly (even tho I work with the settings that pressure doesn't affect the drawing etc...)
Now I have a question is there a way to get new pen nibs real cheap because I only found packs of 5 for 5$ and that doesn't even include shipping
And I find this rather expensive so can I get them for cheap somewhere else ?

I'm working on a Wacom Intuos 4 if that matters

At 1 day ago, Double-Walker wrote: I'd just like some criticism on this piece as well as any feedback anyone could offer up to help me improve. Right now, I'd like to figure out how to make drawings a bit darker, grittier and slightly less cartoonish. I'd also like to know how to draw noses and feet better.

Thanks in advance.

Done in Autodesk Sketchbook Pro 2011 with a Wacom Bamboo Connect.

Use more shades of a colour and mix it, sometimes a small overlay of a colour you wouldn't think would fit in could help
Just as an example, a fleshtone (of a caucasian) is not pink, it has shades of red yellow pink and even blue... yes blue amazing huh

Don't use hard lines,
I can see an outline around your drawing even if sometimes this gives extra character to your drawing it often makes it look cartoonish
Now if you work on very big scale and use a small line people probably wouldn't even see it and you could finely paint it out

Use different opacity and or colour mixing
Now what I mean with opacity is the seethroughness of a layer of colour you applied
That way you get a more gradient like look and if you use that with different shades you don't have hard lines, you create depth and shadows which gives your art a more realistic look
Now on Photoshop cs5 (maybe on previous versions as well), you have a brush called "Mixer Brush Tool" which allows you to mix colours together lets say you have a black surface and you want to give it a metal like shading (with gray and white)
You can either use opacity and put on different layers on 3% opacity over and over eachother
Or you could use the mixer brush put some white on the black and then mix it together

Layers
I don't know if the program you use uses layers
But layers are very important for effective digital painting so you can put different things you work on, on well different layers... Like I'm working on a sniper now and i need to paint in big parts with green and others with a black metallic look
Because of layers i can overlay them and edit stuff thats overlapping without harming the other layer of lets say the scope

DO NOT GIVE UP
Yeah well I've been experiencing this a lot while working on something but if you can see your progress it gives you courage again

You can always use picture references like now with your robes on the image in the forumthread
Go on googleimages or something and look for robes or torn robes and study the way gravity affects them and how the fabric falls down and the fold
Try to understand what the material you try to draw is like

If things don't go the way you want take a break, draw on another part or just save your progress and go do something else and come back later

Well that's everything I can come up with right now that could help you
Hope it helped you
