I want to learn Java Programming

Please help, I have tried time and time again over the course of a year to try and learn java game programming. I know the basics of java from thenewboston, but his game development tutorial is unfinished. I have tried others such as eddie vanhalen's tutorials with libgdx, I couldn't get it to install. I tried other tutorials on youtube but I couldn't find any that I could understand. Do you have any suggestions? Please I'm absolutely desperate. Ever since I was a kid I wanted to learn how to program games and I don't want to have come this far just to run into another wall. Thank you to any that answer.
