I assume today or tomorrow, as July was the promised release date, unless thies died or something, in which case, we film his funeral and release that.

no point, it'd probably get blammed by NG anyway

Not enough boobs or cock jokes

Response to: Review Request Club Posted July 31st, 2010 in Clubs & Crews

hmm cool idea but don't you think you should review the reviewers before you just let them join?

Because you don't want arrogant douches who vote everything low because they think they're better than everyone else or retards who vote 10 because of a little cock jock in a flash.

Or just an idiot in general...

Response to: The MS-paint thread Posted July 29th, 2010 in Art

lol just saying. I used to use MS paint before i got flash and i thought it was horrible.

the pencil tool was really thin and the brush tool was kind of messy looking. Wasn't smooth

well that was my opinion until now

HOW DO YOU GUYS DO IT?! THESE ARE AWESOME LOL!

Response to: Pencil tool is hated? Posted July 29th, 2010 in Animation

The brush tool is great if you want to go for a very...painted style

i guess thats what you'd call it

Response to: Pencil tool is hated? Posted July 29th, 2010 in Animation

i honestly dont know why either. I find the paint tool really stupid and annoying.

with the pencil tool If you draw an outline of (for example) a person and screw up at one little edge you can click that edge and it will highlight seperatly from the rest of the outline

with the brush you cant highlight specific parts of a same colour outline. You have to either use the lasso tool to grab it or erase it with the eraser and either way looks really messy in my opinion

The brush looks kinda messy, while i think the pencil looks very clean

i love the pencil tool :D

By the way. If you are getting annoyed with it being a bit more difficult to colour in drawn objects because one end isn't close enough to the other. Just make your pencil lines thinner that way you can see when they aren't connecting :)

Response to: Animation practice Posted July 29th, 2010 in Animation

i dont know...it seems like its quite slow when hes getting ready but when he throws/smashes it all of a sudden speeds up. Add more frames to make it slower/smoother

the zapping with the lighting it great though in my opinion

Ièm gonna sound stupid, but do these rules apply to art collabs too?

Okay so im doing this project for school in flash (which is completly pushing over my personal project...as if anyone cares)

we are suppose to make a parody of a fairy tale and my group thought itd be best to make a flash animation compared to a video

anyway. I am saving the fla/swf on a flashdrive (thumbstick, memomry stick, G drive whatever you want to call it) and its plugged in at all time. As i was saving i accidently tipped it with my foot and it unplugged. It all of a sudden gave me a message saying i can't save it because it is either a read only document or open in another application. It won't let me save, whether i change the name, change the location.

what can i do to get this file saved??? i have a lot done since my last save so im not restarting

help

updates anyone?

Hey. So how would you make a button in flash (using AS2) that hides a layer.

For example: You're making a music vid and you have a subtitles/lyrics layer. But you dont want it to show all the time, you want the option

what code would go into a button that would make that layer appear and not appear when clicked. So that the user wouldn't always see that layer, only when he wanted to.

Ya i think i explained it enough...

oh okay thank you.

Do you know why its only in small?

NG store problem Posted May 19th, 2010 in General

I want to buy the new Kenstar Shirt in the store but i simply cant

I choose my size and then click add to cart. Sometimes all it does is make me go to the top of the page, which at first i thought it would say something like "out of stock" but no. It just scrolls me to the top of the page and continues to load.
However most of the time when i click add to cart, it instantly in the left part where my "cart" should be says error

not anything specific...just "error"

Yes ive tried refreshing and yes any other shirt works but not this one. Is the shirt sold out or something? Cuz it isn't telling me if it is.

Response to: How to begin a novel... that's good Posted May 9th, 2010 in Writing

im barely a good writer but from all the good books ive read it seems at the beginning it just jumps in to an actiony part (usually).

For example. If your character is kind of a rebel or atleast gets into trouble, start with a security guard shouting something that would imply the character is in trouble. Or if the character is running away try saying something like "I push through the door at a break-neck pace" (that is of course if you write in first person)

If its a narrative, pretty much same idea. Im sure your not stupid enough to realize that you need to start off with a hook, im also sure a lot of people have told you that already...

but ya im saying it should maybe start off with some action, and then after the pace of the story has calmed down, ease your way into explaining the situation, and the main character. Personally, i try to avoid stating what the character looks like in the beginning since it just doesn't seem to fit. Have it kind of come out through the course of the first chapter/few pages. If you know what i mean

ya thats all i can really say. Sounds like a cool storyline from what you've revealed so far. Keep at it man!

Response to: Procrastination Posted April 14th, 2010 in General

Oh people of newgrounds, you make me lol

and ya ThePeanutShark, that's good advice...fuck I should really start working on that project tommorow

Procrastination Posted April 14th, 2010 in General

So I'm working on a project

I've got a decent amount of work done

but I keep finding myself procrastinating majorally. I will just put it off and say "I'll do it at 8:00". Then next thing I know, it's 8 and I'm still playing mw2.

So I'm curious to how people are so determined(or so it seems that way) when they are working on a flash. How do you guys not get so distracted? And when I've been working on it for a while I find myself wanting to just stop working and "finish" it later.

So ya, how do you artists avoid procrastination, and be so seemingly determined? Lol I hope I spelled procrastination right :P
