physics at the early universe were weird but not godly.

The potentiality (spark inside a vaccuum; which by definition is not yet a universe) ..at the beginning of measurable time caused by a leaking into our dimension of stupendous ammounts of hydrogen atoms which are in turn the result of the spearation of matter and anti-matter.

Basically, a spill in the cosmic ocean from a universe existing in along another plane of reality

i dont reckon there is a natural link between single party polotics and dictatorships or communism or poverty.

Imagine a in perfect world, where every aspect of ownership is dealt with by digital voting. Every need fulfilled by robots (or whatever ya dream world is =)

Martix-1 "We made a perfect program in the matrix, but vast crops were lost because humans rejected the concept of perfect world" ...koz "we gave birth to artificial intelligence - AI"

So the main lesson left to learn from our massive artificial digital intellects and us humans is - how to maximize the yield of world resources, and not just the narrow vision maximization of profits.

Global Culture ..hardcover titled "How to master concensus in a perfect world", or for all the negative thoughtsters, a paperback version called "let's all sing a sad song about our ugly 1-party flag"

That's much in the style of groups; to think out one's territory or approach for an attack or defence (or hunt) ..and DAG logic wins hands down every time.

Me? I joined PC soon after they started snooble (joining was a pre-requisite for posting) and followed the PC [S.T.F.U] edited-pic forum, but never felt i had to obey those amusing pics, even thou the seniority of PC membership is for all members to represent their leadership. Finally was booted from the PC for doing little less than not posting on snooble (it's also a pre-requisite to staying a member ;)

Their loss, is DAGs gain! :D

** votes "no" to voting publicly or secretively **

being political is not just about voting. Maybe most political problems stem from voting, group voting, delayed or mis-represented voting.

"there's more than two ways to skin a cat" and i just trust that the DAG will find the Third-Way faster than than any other group on NG.

yeah, but "SUPERPOWER" - that's one major misnomer of last century. Nothing super will change with America heralding this new era of Global Imperialism by waging Tech War on all it's perceived weaker enemies.

F'off!

"COMBINED" ..(all other countries military spending) < USA!

2002: "On the military in general, the USA spends more than the rest of the G7 countries combined "

"The US military budget is more than six times larger than the Russian budget, the second largest spender."

"It is more than the combined spending of the next twenty five nations." (2002)

"The US military budget is more than twenty six times as large as the combined spending of the seven "rogue" states (Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Sudan and Syria)."

"The seven potential "enemies," Russia and China together spend $117 billion, less than 30% of the U.S. military budget."

"Global military spending has declined from $1.2 trillion in 1985 to $809 billion in 1998. During that time the U.S. share of total military spending rose from 31% to 36% just in the Fiscal Year 1999"

"The U.S. military budget request for Fiscal Year 2003 was over $400 BILLION" ..which didn't include the iraq war!

Your Digital Wealth? Posted May 29th, 2003 in Politics

*disc-lamer: talk of "pirate warez" may get you banned.

Estimated Digital Worth is a complex subject..

It could include stuff you've made (coding, audio, and design) for companies.. BUT what proportion is yours? Or is most of what you create is classed as the "intellectual property" of the company you work for?

It could be a massive collection of shareware and freeware that you've gathered over many long years on CDs (not able to be sold, but still valuable to you as an archive collection)

It could be games or software you've paid real dollars for, but you feel those titles are depreciating in value as fast as your hardware does (ie. 30% per year)

Or, It could be all the stuff you've digitized (such as documents and photos) as keepsakes. A stuff you are writing but haven't published on the web, or your personal website itself - evolving and growing as an identity worthy of selling at some stage (DNS and passwords)

Anything that you've invested a great amount of time developing while on your PC.

How would you possibly value all that?
Well, take a worst case scenario. Your whole kit - cds, hdds, everything just up and disappear. Gone for good, and for nothing but the price of your hardware from the insurance company.

So you head off looking for a new computer, and to your amazement find ALL your stuff in some nearby auction. Hardware being sold as 1 lot, and all your collection of digital storage being sold seperately. It's a busy auction frequented by lotsa wealthy nerds (yes this is a hyperthetical question ;O) ..who just happen to all like your taste in data as much as you do!

Now how much would you pay to get all that data back?

(p.s. none of us will blackmail you - promise! =)
