I originally posted this in the Video Game Forum by mistake. I am reposting it here, where it belongs. Here is a link to the original. http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/9166 80 (One of the moderators suggested that I do this.)
Let me start off by saying that I love Newgrounds Rumble. It is fair to say that it is my favorite game ever. That said, I want to discuss suggestions either for updates or a sequel. I have only the best intentions. That said, here I go.
New Characters.
1. Dad & Jr.
It is obvious that they belong in this game. Many people have suggested them separately. I think it would be cool for them to be a tag team character. One of the games is entitled "Dad & Me." There are probably better ways of doing it, but this is how I would make the tag team. You choose to be one of the two, and the other acts like a computer generated duplicate. Dad's weapon would be a chainsaw and his projectile could be flat-headed children, like those featured in "Chainsaw the Children" and "Dad & Me." Jr.'s weapon would be a knife, but I am not sure what his projectile would be. One battle could be an attempted ambush by flat-headed children, as seen in "Purple Sawdust." The last battle in the story mode could be Dad & Jr. fighting each other, the idea being that Dad is teaching Jr. to be a man.
2. Bitey
Bitey would be a great addition to NG Rumble. He is very fast and can jump very high, but he would not be very strong. He could have a ramming attack, like the way he fought in "The YuYu." His projectile would be that little yellow farty thing (name?) from "Bitey of Brackenwood." Bitey could hit it like a baseball, the way he did in the aforementioned "Bitey of Brackenwood."
3. Tom Fulp
Who is more Newgrounds than Tom Fulp? He has been featured in videos like "House of 1000 Cats" and video games like "Castle Crashing the Beard." There could be many ways of making Tom into a character. I think the floating, bearded head from "Castle Crashing the Beard" is best. That version already has all of the attacks worked out. My second choice would be the beefy avatar he uses. My opinion is that that would take more work and the result would not be as cool.
New Arenas.
If you add new characters, maybe you should add new arenas.
1. The Beach
In "Chainsaw the Children" Dad is attacking flat-headed children at the beach. That would be a good arena. You could include trees that Dad can destroy with his chainsaw.
2. The Schoolyard
In "Dad & Me" Jr. starts his rampage in a schoolyard. A schoolyard could be an arena. A jungle gym could provide the necessary platforms. It could even have balls or trash cans that a character could pick up and throw.
3. Brackenwood
If you add Bitey, you must have a Brackenwood arena. There are many good places in Brackenwood, but my favorite is the waterfall. Bitey does fight at the foot of the waterfall in "Prowlies at the River."
4. Castle Crashing the Beard arena
If you include Tom Fulp's head from Castle Crashing the Beard, why not the arena?
General.
1. There should be an "all henchmen" survival option.
2. In Hank's last battle, maybe the henchmen should be resurrected as zombies. Maybe half of the required kills come from henchmen, and then the Jesus-character resurrects them as zombies.
3. In survival mode, could you allow us to pick different arenas?
4. Maybe there should be special attacks that characters can only do when they are enraged. For example, Dad & Jr. could surround a character and knock him back and forth until either Dad or Jr. is injured, or until they are no longer enraged.
5. Maybe as a character is injured, it could show the damage physically. Scars, bruises, cuts etc. could appear on the character. If that is not feasible, maybe they could just appear on the head next to the life-bar.
Those are my suggestions. If I think of anything else, I will return and post it here. Please, critique my suggestions and add your own. Thank you.
