I think it looks good. It is not exactly like the original, but it is a nice take on the NG Tank.

I think you might want to check out the Tank Redesign Collab Some people are trying to make a collab all about different versions of the NG Tank. They need more people, so they would be glad to have you.

That looks a lot better than any store-bought action figure I have ever seen. I have one question though: did you ever make a flash featuring Mindchamber? I checked your website, but I could not tell if you had or if you were working on one.

Topic: Why no new attack since 9/11?

Posted: 07/18/08 05:03 PM

Forum: Politics

There have been plenty of attacks. They just occur in the Middle East. Bin Laden and the other Islamic insurgents wnat to break the military strength of the United States like they did the USSR. If they succeed, the US will no longer be ABLE to occupy Muslim countries, support Israel or apostate regimes or carry out what Islamists see as a war on Islam.

People need to realize that Islamists are not insane terrorists bent on world domination or the destruction of the Western Wrold, and they do not hate America because we are free. They are insurgents fighting against an imperial power (the US is an imperial power, but I am not using that term to criticize the US) for a few very specific goals.

If you want to understand Islamists, you should read Imperial Hubris by Michael Scheuer. Scheuer is the former head of the CIA's Bin Laden unit and has spent over twenty years working in the intelligence community, focusing on Islamists. He is an expert on the subject. The book is very enlightening. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Forum: Politics

It seems to me that the soldier publicly announced that he is an atheist, then the other soldiers started making trouble, and the Army had to remove the soldier for his own safety. It is unfortunate that the other soldiers could not handle the soldier's atheism, but I think the Army acted appropriately. The Army could not ignore the situation, and it could not remove every offending soldier.

Posted: 07/18/08 03:38 PM

Is anyone thinking about doing the NG Bots? There has to be at least one reference. Also, someone should make a joke about Salad Fingers. Salad Fingers' preoccupation with touching metal is one of the best recurring jokes in the series.

I do not know how to use flash, but I wanted to make the suggestions. I hope this collab turns out well.

I wanted to ask two questions. First, is there any room for cross-overs? Can you include characters from outside the series in question (from NG or otherwise), or do the characters all have to come from the series you are parodying? Second, could someone make a short about the original features that Tom created, like Cat Dynamics?

Nice to see some press about Castle Crashers. When is it coming out?

That kid in the hot dog outfit was funny. I love going out in ridiculous clothing and acting like everything is normal. If you act obnoxious, people dismiss what you are doing. If you pretend that everything is normal, people have no idea how to react. They think it might be a joke, or you might be insane.

Posted: 07/16/08 09:12 AM

I understand why armed thugs control trade in illicit products, like illegal drugs. Why would gangs be unable to use legalized drugs to fund themselves?

The only answer that I can think of is that gangs are highly inefficient. If they are so inefficient as to require a monopoly based on force, then when drugs are legalized they cannot compete. I have no evidence for this conclusion.

Any comments would be most appreciated.

Japan attacked the United States. Then the United States declared war on Japan. Germany, Japan's ally, responded with its own declaration of war on the United States. Only then did the United States declare war on Germany.

The threat was that the most powerful military in the world had just declared war on the United States.

I saw this post of a blog the other day. It argues that the War on Drugs hinders the War on Terrorism. I thought that the post was interesting, but I am not sure if it is correct. I am not sure about the thesis that banning heroin in America helps al Qaeda. I wanted to ask you guys what you think about the post.

the point still stands that the US will invade iran when it CAN, but it will never invade Zimbabwe unless they discover a gi-normous (giganticly enourmous) diamond mine (s).

well, have a good day, chaps, and who wants a spot of cricket after tea?

There are many Americans trying to prevent an American invasion of Iran. Hopefully, the experience of the Iraq War will teach Americans the value of peace.

I think this would complicate elections enormously. It has the potential to cause many problems, which would reduce the credibility of elections. The last thing the United States need is a reduction in public faith in election.

The hell it didn't. All of our problems in Iran and Iraq are Carter's fault.
His continued interference in the MidEast is leading to the continued deaths in Israel.

His entire term was a joke.

He was awful.

Carter was a failure. His policies were characterized by incredibly idealistic, naive government intervention in every aspect of life. His attempts to use government intervention to "fix" the economy only worsened the problems. His boldly interventionist foreign policy succeeded only in wasting American money and winning American more enemies abroad. The only positive thing about Jimmy Carter is that he was so incompetant that he failed to enact many of his terrible policies.

With regard to the topic, the democratic congress can't be expected to do much as long as a republican, and a hard-right one at that, is president. Veto-proof majorities are hard to get.
Bush is a center left politician. He's hardly a right winger. And anyone who doesn't get this is simply too stupid to comment on politics.

You are completely right. Neo-conservatives are NOT conservative. It is ridiculous to argue that imperialism and militarism are conservative. True conservatives are anti-war and noninterventionist. In America, conservatism has a strong focus on the rule of law and the Constitution. Neo-conservatives do not respect the law. In fact, they openly support the rule of force. President Bush makes a mockery of fiscal conservatism. Finally as to the fact that Bush is socially conservative, so was Hitler, but that does not mean that Hitler was a conservative leader.

the US wont do it because, frankly, it has no economical gain in Zimbabwe, where as there is oil and fine Persian floor mats in Iran.

Both China and Russia have threatened military action against the United States if it invades Iran. That is why Bush has not invaded yet.

I do think that the Supreme Court has the authority to make this sort of decision. Punishments should be proscribed or banned by law, not by judicial action. Courts should just pick from pre-approved punishments.

There was strong culture in America. There was some sort of cultural disconnect after WWII. It might have been the 1960's. In any event, children stopped learning things that parents taught to their children in every generation from the first colonization and probably further back. History, folklore, skills, etc. were all lost.

I have thought a good deal about the lost culture. It is hard for me since I am on the wrong side of the disconnect. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions for me, they would be most appreciated. Thank you.
