Reading a lot of the posts and replies on this forum in particular gives me a little extra hope that "Hey, maybe some people in this world aren't COMPLETE idiots and know a thing or two about comedy..." I'm happy that people mentioned Josh Blue, Bo Burnham, Louis C.K., etc. And that people actually know their comedic styles too, for example like George Carlin's true intentions near the end of his life (manipulation).
