Programmer For Ios/android Game Posted November 5th, 2012 in Collaboration

Hi All!

I am currently in the looking for a Programmer who is familiar with creating games for the app store. So they would presumably need to know Java. I have a good idea of the end product and I will be writing and doing all the art myself. I just need someone to put the pieces together :] While I don't want to give out too much information yet, I can tell you I want it to be a tap platformer of sorts and that it will be released alongside a flash animation based on the same story. If anyone would be interested, just PM me! :] Many Thanks,

Jped

Hi all!

I'm currently looking for two voice actor's or one if your THAT good :] It's for a new series of Flash animations based with a sort of sherlock holmes vibe. It's mostly drama roles, however there are comical moments in the script. Here are a few character descriptions as well as the lines of dialogue I would like to recieve from you as an audition.

Hugh Carter:
Our main character and protagonist of the Victorian era arc of the story. Hugh is a detective inspector with the police force. He is about 5'10, brown haired, moustached and wears the typical fashion of the era. He comes from a fairly wealthy background, educated, street-smart, tough despite the look of his average build. He's fairly reserved, keeping most of his emotions in check. He is respected by the majority of his peers, pretty much hated by the criminals he has put away in the past. Both friend and foe know that it would be foolish to cross him, although he doesn't put across a particularly aggressive nature. Before the story begins Hugh has in private proposed to a woman who captured his heart. Like him, she wanted to help people, utterly selfless she wanted to help the poor women on the street resorting to prostitution to earn a living. Throughout the story Hugh's character gradually becomes more aggressive and deteriorates due to his heartbreak and the seemingly unending crime and violence he faces.

Arnold:
In effect Hugh's sidekick. Arnold is a short man, not educated like Hugh but street smart coming from a poorer background. He is very loyal and looks up to Hugh as his mentor. Has a very cockney esque accent.

So those are descriptions of the two characters i'm looking to start with and if you could send a recording of the lines below as well as possibly a link to your VA demo reel (if you have one) to Tiny2d@hotmail.co.uk, that would be awesome.

Audition Extract:

Shot of Hugh looking sternly down at the body, the rain running down his face.

Arnold: Another day, another body eh boss? (Pause) Do you think they're linked? I mean this is the third one we've found like this.

Hugh kneels down on one knee and reaches to pull off the blanket, transition of shot we see his hands tense as he sees the body.

Arnold: (Pause) Boss?

Hugh: This one's different.

Arnold: Eh?

Hugh puts the blanket back down, getting up he makes a sign to the bobbies to attend to the body. He moves past the bodies blocking the alley from the public, Arnold keeping up behind him.

Hugh: She was a charity worker trying to get women off the street

Arnold: How'd you know that? There ain't nothing on her.

Shot of Hugh's face slightly darkened at the top, Arnold visible over his shoulder looking confused.

Arnold: Sir?

Memory Sequence:

Hugh embracing a curly haired woman in a doorway, Hugh placing the same ring on her finger as on the body.

Out of memory sequence

Hugh: I saw her in the paper.

Response to: Lf Flash Animator For 2drpg Posted January 30th, 2012 in Collaboration

Hi Adam! I'm very interested in working with you. I have a good knowledge of flash in general. I don't have any work on here but if you want to give me a test just pm me :]

At 9/4/11 05:35 PM, protoAuthor wrote: It's quite simple. Draw more frames. Instead of just using the same frame 3 times, put 3 times as many frames of animation in. It will be intensive work, and time consuming, but it looks much better than tweening, as that's how it's actually done in film.

I would say this is the best way to do it. Too much is tweened in flash and the result is often amteurish compared to frame by frame animation. Trust me, it will look a lot better if you draw more frames together rather than tween a symbol and adjust the in and out movement.

Response to: i want to animate!! Posted September 7th, 2011 in Animation

As said, starting with Pencil and Paper is a great way to start. It eliminates any technical barriers and lets you focus on creating good animation and then progress into Flash if you enjoy it. Anyone that would claim pencil and paper animation is "noobish" is a moron, all animators on tv and film production were trained traditionally first

Response to: What do you do... Posted June 29th, 2011 in Animation

I would unless their crucial to the movie?

Response to: Re: Furry Animation, And What I Use Posted June 18th, 2011 in Animation

Post your artwork in the relevant forum, i.e. The Art page. This has nothing to do with Animation and I don't know who your telling off for having scribbles in their work. Also, how are you a fox? just curious

Response to: frames per second Posted June 18th, 2011 in Animation

As Neo-Egyptian said, here in the UK we're on PAL format which is 25 FPS although I tend to stick to 24 so working out frames doesn't get too confusing when working on 2's. (24 frames on 2's = 12 drawings) I don't ever use tweens unless it's VERY subtle. I find it a little amateurish when there done for an entire animation unless the animator is going for a certain feel or movement.

Response to: Animation Questions- Tips For Noobs Posted June 18th, 2011 in Animation

This is actually a very good thread choice, should deffinitely be bookmarked by any beginners. You can guarantee people will still find more questions to ask but it really is all here. The process is what almost everyone does and I think animation block happens all the time. So well done for making such a good thread! :]

Response to: Animation, need critique Posted October 8th, 2010 in Animation

I'm a little late to the party but i just wanted to say that both animations i think are very nice. The first one, i almost feel as though mario should have a trial of smoke behind him as he runs downwards as well as be a little faster to show his speed. As for the second one, i think the movement is lovely but as previously said, i would alter the BG to compliment the animation. Hope this helps and the rest is just as awesome! :]
