Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted October 12th, 2010 in Collaboration

so I left, I came back, and all I see is:
1. discussion about parents
2. AGU is sad
besides aniharvs coming back, which I guess is the only thing new around here...
How are parts going everyone? Flashfire? fig?

Response to: Throw The Ball Collab (continued) Posted October 12th, 2010 in Collaboration

@steak: nah ;)
I was actually considering giving my spot away, I just had a trip with no internet access so I couldnt follow what was going on, but I agree on giving my spot to jacco
as for being here first, Im pretty sure I joined way back then, right when the thread popped up, in the old forums, but then left, and came back with a finished part, but, in the end, I feel that jacco deserves the spot as much as me, and hes a good guy, and steak does have a good point, so whatever, its all yours ;)

Response to: Pixel Perfect Collab Posted October 12th, 2010 in Collaboration

Oh, wow, a lot of good parts, great job everyone! this collab is looking awesome, I still need to make my fourth part, ideas shall come... although, exams coming up, so expect it only by the end of this month, anyways, what is the deadline?

Response to: Throw The Ball Collab (continued) Posted October 9th, 2010 in Collaboration

Ok, i guess...
but then your and fredsters votes for bard have to go to someone else, no?

Response to: Throw The Ball Collab (continued) Posted October 9th, 2010 in Collaboration

At 10/9/10 06:59 AM, JetLong wrote: im so confused. who are supposed to vote? from what i gathered, ppl who hav made a small part in the collab arnt allowed to vote and random ppl from outside the collab are ment to vote, is this correct?

Allright:
the following have a garanteed spot, according to micky:
1. Fredstermaster
2. CompleteDouche
3. Micky315
4. Skelo
5. Supernihh
6. sirreginald
7. Jetlong
HDXMike said he didnt want his spot, but in case he wants it the end, his spot is garanteed too:
8. HDXmike

So the voting is to decide the last too (or three) spots, so everyone else is up to that spot:
TheWanderingBard: 3 votes
JPB (me): 2 votes
Jacco: 1 vote
372, jow, and one man: 0 votes

If you're any of the people going after the spot, you cant vote for yourself, but you should still be able to vote, according to micky, by the end of today, the winners will get the spot, and only participants (and steak (?)) may vote, you may cast two votes too

oh my god, I'm so happy now, its finally getting done, even if its only fully complete in one month, its getting done!
@randomist: Could you pm me the swf once its done too? or at least email it to me ;)

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted October 7th, 2010 in Collaboration

@flashfire: sweet, could you post however what you had done with your old freeze kirby skit, Im curious to see it :P

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted October 6th, 2010 in Collaboration

@fig: yes, it works, hehehe, layers :)
anyways, Ill have some exams coming up and I should only make my final edits around the 24th, but ill send what I have so far since it is done this Saturday ;)

@micky: in case vote goes forward, mine are back in the last page (for the last 2-3 spots, i vote for bard and jacco)(cant vote for yourself can you?), in any way, authors can be edited later, so we really should just submit and shouldnt let this hold us back for too long ;)

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted October 4th, 2010 in Collaboration

@vintage: it is lookin mighty fine, read the last pages and you should see the previews, also flashfire and vintage, make a news post for the parts list and add previews there ;)
@fig: send me the fla ;)

Response to: Throw The Ball Collab (continued) Posted October 4th, 2010 in Collaboration

I find this first come first serve kind of unfair, right here the co-authors ended up how I think they should, but thats just my opnion, thats why I think we should've do the voting thing, but it seems fredster and some others agreed in the end, the co-author limit should really be extended, even if only by special requests, in all collabs ive been in, there has been a lot of this, and it isnt fair, because if someone is good enough to be in the collab, they should be co'ed...

Response to: Throw The Ball Collab (continued) Posted October 4th, 2010 in Collaboration

@jacco: agreed, and indeed, there were a few icons back a few pages:
http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/4aa4 0ad19dea47ae32581bd69059dede
http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/3ca8 4fc53f9214caedffc50dda9f4560
or maybe fredster could take a cap from the logo after the loader, it would be ugly until the redesign, so we would have to play a bit to get one that looks alright 40x40

Response to: Throw The Ball Collab (continued) Posted October 4th, 2010 in Collaboration

Hmm... today seems ok for submission, only one strong competitor so far, that could change however, a daily is garanteed, so far I'd say we would get a second, but we could end up with a fourth or something like that, anyways, so are you guys wanting just a daily, or a first? if just a daily, todays seems like the day, but if a first, waiting is recommended
for me it doesnt really matter which award we get (or not) as long as its submitted in 2010 :P

Response to: Throw The Ball Collab (continued) Posted October 4th, 2010 in Collaboration

Thats awesome, no bugs at all for me, its all ready to submit (except for micky's bg (?))
@ jacco, look for the egg in the screen after the credits (tab, tab, tab!)

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted October 4th, 2010 in Collaboration

In the epic final we could have everyone animate like 5 seconds or something, I'd be up for it, basically, we could all storyboard first, and then everyone would start working on their respective thingy, itd be hard, the deadline would be postponed to november/december, but it would be effing awesome

@fig: light effects, alphas, light effects!

that sounded too arrogant, what I meant is, effort/quality wise, I believe me and jacco should get the last two spots, anyways, if HDX still doesnt accept, which I think he should, but its up to him, the spot should totally go to thewanderingbard

and where's my edit button D:

I have no good ideas

lol'ed so hard, I hate that ad, anyways, I guess we have to credit spike for writing on the credits, anyways, CC:
1. The walking could be better, there's already sprites for those, so really
2. You should have a little animation of the marshmallow cooking a bit
3. Instead of tweening him talking, give him one of those sprite mouths, and lower the tweening
4. Give a little motion to the guy with the marshmallow, Im pretty sure theres a sprite cycle where waddle dee stands normally - stands on toes or something like that

Response to: Throw The Ball Collab (continued) Posted October 3rd, 2010 in Collaboration

ah, yes, when I say quality I mean effort, now, I have a feeling no one will step up any soon to be the first "bad guy", to be the first to point out any names, and wihout pointing any names, well never come to a decision, so please dont judge me and here is my ranking (best effort - worst effort):

1. fredstermaster
2. Skelo
3. JetLong
4. SirReginald
5. Supernihhh
6. Micky
?. Both of jacco's parts
7. The Wandering Bard
8. Jacco's first part (blue guy)
9. CompleteDouche
10. 372
11. Jacco's Second Part (scared guy)
12. The1manwiththeplan
13. Jow

I didnt rank myself and HDXmike for different, however obvious reasons

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted October 3rd, 2010 in Collaboration

@gustavos: nah thats okay, you'll always be welcome here buddy
I agree we should be harsher with sprites, but I think simple and MMM can cook something good, as for AGU:
1. Could you show us your latest example?
2. Before animating, shows us the script ;)

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted October 2nd, 2010 in Collaboration

@flashfire, its not just sloppy, its lazy :P, although I just became lazy after two failed attempts at making it less lazy, in one of them, the drill grew out of his hand, and then he'd stop glowing and fall on the floor, and it just looked effing weird, in the seconds one, he would break out of the glow thingy, again effing weird, ill try something else, or try again one of those above another day...

Response to: 1987 TMNT colab Posted October 2nd, 2010 in Collaboration

You are more than welcome to write a story, maybe get an animator, and create a series, however:
1. To create a collab, you must have the necessary BA:
http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/rules
http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/9105 59
2. Without a proper example, no one will be interested, imagine being commited to make an animation, once you receiver the script, you have to animate it, however the script sucks, and now you'll have to work on 10 episodes of that shit, nice isnt it? well, without having a script of at least the first "episode", no one will be interested
3. Making a whole series is a big commitment, so may I suggest you to learn how to animate instead of just writing the script? There are a lot of tutorials arround here and on the internet, and since you joined newgrounds, you must have some interest in it
4. You should be more than welcome to post your scripts in a thread in the writing forum, they'll be sure to give you some critsicism too: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/forum/18
5. You may want to take a look at the list of people looking to collaborate thread:
http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1155 474
and at the collab101 account:
http://collab101.newgrounds.com/news/pos t/513756

glad to help

first i'd like to thank HDXmike here, and second, I believe it should be by part quality, however on ties, activity would decide, maybe we should vote making like a list each, it should take a while, but co-authors dont have to be added immediately, I'm pretty sure you can always edit co-authors later
