@smuge: the script itself doesnt have too much too offer, as in no proper jokes, but I can see a great part with proper epicness and expressions (good ones make you smile/laugh as much as a joke (yours wouldnt be like it, but I guess you would achieve kinda what we have in cutter)) so yeah, I like it, just execute it well or something ;)

Response to: 24hrc3 : Through The Portal Posted December 8th, 2010 in Collaboration

can I use an as2 vcam, with the same movieclip as yours, but as2 code, and then you can just replace the code later (flash 8 here)?
also, the 29th works for me too

Response to: 24hrc3 : Through The Portal Posted December 6th, 2010 in Collaboration

Hmm... I'd love to be a part of this, so id like to get on the interested talent pool thingy, probably won't get in, but it doesnt hurt to apply, does it? ;)

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted December 5th, 2010 in Collaboration

haha, sure ;)

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted December 4th, 2010 in Collaboration

now that I think about it, I'm out of ideas, my only idea was to have these films in the main menu
like this: http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/6818 366fd84c33c1d8a295d1d650b078
Anyways... The films would roll or not (depending on number of parts)
I got that logo up there, but I absolutely hate it, if anyone has any suggestion, or even wants to give it a try themselves, feel free to!
I'm also definitely up for a "With sprite parts" " Without sprite parts" and i'd be up for coding it ;)
As a matter of fact, I already did!
http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/d7ce 0d23068254a2cbacbc60763d47f8
I dont think any explanation is needed... just experiment with the two buttons

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted December 4th, 2010 in Collaboration

@smudge: sorry to hear that, but nice song!
@ffex: ill do a little "idea" showcase with the main menu, and then if you like it, I'll "hire" some collabers to help arround :)
Also: We'll have bios, scene select, play and credits, right?

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted December 4th, 2010 in Collaboration

1. I still have no ideas for a second part
2. Oh, Come on, Are ya'll telling me we won't do this menu TKC style? (As in one main organizer of the menu, but with everyone helping around with just about everything) I already pitched my idea to FFEX and I'd be happy to work on the menu

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted November 30th, 2010 in Collaboration

Allright, seeing this collab unactive, I decided to "hunt" for ideas for a quick second part

if I find one ill like, ill try to do it, but this doesnt mean I AM gonna make a second part, just maybe...

everyone, please get cracking, and flashfire, a mass pm "blast" would be nice (unless you already sent one of those recently (?))

so, how's everyone's parts coming along?
also, FFEX, send a mass PM blast or something like that ;)
Work on the menu should also start IMO, I dont have any ideas for a part, but I'd love do something for the collab, so I'd like to help with it, we should really do it like last time, with everyone helping around...

I vote for one step back by coolio-niato, the whole idea is great, and its perfectly executed!

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted November 18th, 2010 in Collaboration

ads it is, also, flashfire, next time you make a parts list, make a news post ;), along with a preview of the whole thing, and a link to the chat

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted November 16th, 2010 in Collaboration

Hmm... I suggest putting flash ads later/after submitting if thats any possible, like, submit it, let the whole crowd "beta test" it, then, the next day, with possible fixes and a possible fresh frontpage, add ads, since you cant edit it once ads are up there, in any way, I wouldn't need/want any revenue

I must say im impressed by this suckah, I thought it would be bad, but looking at some games made with it, this is great day for animators!
In any way, anyone else knows any other game from the portal that used that?

Response to: "Clashing" Hit Frames? Posted November 15th, 2010 in Game Development

Oh ok, thanks, I can use both ways, I was just confused because PSvils told me to put the button inside the scoreboard, but its all working now... big fail from flash tough, should work when you think about it...

Response to: "Clashing" Hit Frames? Posted November 15th, 2010 in Game Development

At 11/15/10 11:34 AM, PSvils wrote: They don't clash, just you obviously have the main menu and music on/off buttons above the scoreboard clip.

wait, what? above in what way?

You'll either have to make it so the buttons are actually part of the scoreboard clip,

they are...

or even simpler just check the mouse x/y, and see if it's within a certain rectangle, for example the scoreboard rectangle plus some added height to cover the main menu/music buttons.

I'm sorry, but thats not the solution for the problem I'm having here

"Clashing" Hit Frames? Posted November 15th, 2010 in Game Development

So im, working on this game, and it has a scoreboard, now, I figured it'd be nice to have it so when you rolled over the scoreboard, additional controls like a main menu btn and a music on/off btn, so far I only made a button the music one, and here's the problem I encounter: when you roll over the scoreboard, everything works fine, but when I roll over the "music on", the hit frames appear to "clash", and none of them work...
anyone would know a way to get around this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted November 15th, 2010 in Collaboration

oh noes, double post...
lets see, I loved masa's part, and the new menu thingy is great, now, may I also suggest the sliders to be re-arranged so the bar doesnt get so tall...

also, oh, look, its a chat, join people!

I'll comment on the collab tomorrow, on ipod, cant see flash stuff...
Anyways:
"I say this part gets boring after a little while... BA-DUM-CHING!"
The ba-dum-ching is optional ;) I actually prefer it without it...

Yes.

@flashfire: Im loving your part so far :3 everything is great!

Response to: The Many Kirbies Collab Posted November 9th, 2010 in Collaboration

AYE!
I never said its too late.
Now heres my opnion on all this, as resumed as possible
1. Flashfire can handle it, With our help, and fig isn't any more capable than flashfire
2. Fig, If you dont like flashfires thingy, then tell him what you like, tell him what you dont, or even offer yourself to work on it, but dont just do it thinking "flashfire cant do it"... flashfire changed it and it looks better than yours and his old one...
3. teamwork, flashfire's job is to handle most of the interface menu stuff, but that doesnt mean he has to do it all by himself, neither that means fig should do it all by himself
4. Gustavos is right, this is 7th grade all again...
5. Proposed schedule (I'd like to see if everyone agrees or if anyone has some suggestions for it):
5.1. November 30th - Start Work on Menu
5.2. December 20th OR January 5th - Final Deadline
5.3. In both cases, start final preparations for submission by the 5th (co-authoring, credits)
5.4. From then onwards, we search for the best day for submission

Now of course the schedule is bound to change, these dates dont have to be those, but arround those, and here's why I think so:
5.5.1. We'll submit after the Christmas craze
5.5.2. Christmas is one of the holidays with most submissions here on ng, so people will probably want to finish their parts soon, so they can get working on their Christmas watevers
5.5.3. No one will want to work like crazy on the middle of the holidays, so this should also encourage people to finish their parts faster as well
5.5.4. It gives everyone time to make some kick-ass parts

Anyone who agrees with me, say "Agreed!" or some shit like that

I think most parts here have got their own sense of humor:
Bomb: I seriously cannot describe this kind of lolz, neither do I enjoy it that much, But I know people who enjoy it, and I know some will enjoy it
UFO: The surprise here is great, its just that quick "surprise-lolz" (I wouldnt say I laughed out loud, but it made me smile, I guess the mission is achieved then no?)
Parasol: Its really that kind of "violence-lolz" its definitely not my style, but I can see people enjoying such part
Drill: Im not the one to say, since im fairly biased, But I love "pun-lolz", mainly because in its simpleness, as long as you understand it you should at least smile, even if they are cheesy ("screw you" :P), in their own little cheesiness they crack me up
Cutter: Here you got a great "graphical-lolz", the expressions at the end are great
Spaghetti: same as bomb
Magic: "Memory-lolz", someone who doesnt have a rabbids game (or at least played it quite a lot) will "meh" over it, but anyone who knows them will laugh, because they remember playing with the rabbids, and the rabbids are just hilarious in their mind
Cook: Lots of lolz here, you got "Memory-lolz" on the ginger part and on the whole part and "Graphical-lolz" on the nuts part
Yup, I just invented all these "lolz" terms, but you get my point, I wouldnt say theres one part here that is completely un-enjoyable, neither will I say theres one part that is funny to everyone...

Alright, to make a pose with a good rhythym, you got 4 techniques (according to figure drawing for dummies :P):
1. Contrapposto: Here, youre basically removing the tension of the pose, making it more natural, you put wight on one foot, several other parts of the body change position to counterbalance the weight distribution... You build it by doing a snake thingy on the joints (shoulders, hips, knees) (oh god, how in the shit do I explain this)
2. Foreshortening: you angle parts of the body towards the viewer, make stuff shorter and 3d, google books doesnt let me read the rest :(
3. Elimination: give detail to whats important to a pose, remove from whats not important (have someone give you a punch? why detail the arm thats resting? you're just calling attention to what doesnt need attention)
4. Diminution: Put stuff behind or forward in space, again google books doesnt let me read anything about this...
So yeah, all google books lets me read about is contrapposto, so im only exemplifying that:
I still dont understand this shit, some explaining would be nice pbass
