What is that kind of reason? He just said there have been many spoofs already, that's something everyone could notice. That has nothing to do with how many flash someone has.

Anyways, Good luck with your flash, the MGS4 Snake looks pretty neat, just animate him well.

First of all, do not use an event sound at the begin, you'll never have it sync good. You need to stream it.

Chopping it in different pieces would be possible using Audacity , then you could use different scenes. But I think a better way is just using movieclips, on the main timeline, for every different 'scene' you put your movieclip. For making the scene you would just import the sound into your movieclip, then animate the specific part, then delete the sound in it, and all the remaining frames. Then put it in the main timeline.

I was hoping Tom would keep it quiet but he didn't know he told his story to all of you. But I'm afraid it is full of lies! LIES I TELL YA!
Let me tell you all how it really went.

This morning I woke up, feeling a bit drowsy. I went to eat some breakfast, but then I noticed it wasn't your usual serials, it had the shape of cornflakes but the milk was blueish/seethrough and the cornflakes went all green. So I was pissed off already.

Then I decided I would go up the interwebs so I pushed the ON button but nothing happened. I pushed it again then I noticed my monitor was gone! It just vanished into thin air! Something was trying to make me sick, and I was gonna make him pay.

So I couldn't go on the interwebs, and I couldn't eat anymore. So I decided to play on my playstation. And waddaya know? It was gone! It was FREAKING gone. Now I was really pissed off. And even when I tried to piss on my toilet, somebody had FREAKING put some sort of stuff on it so the piss didn't went in the boul but kinda whirled around it and eventually fell on my feet, I hadn't put any shoes on yet. It was the WORST monday you could ever have.

So I went outside, what was there else to do? Anyways I was walking down the street and then I noticed a train station. I decided to get on the train. I was in luck (finally) the train was arriving very fast. So I went in it and I sat my big 6"5 body on one of those chairs. But then some guy dare to ask me for my ticket. I said ticket? What ticket, and then he got mad and threw me out of the window. The train at that moment was driving like 50 miles an hour and there were trees around the track so I hit myself on one of those trees.

After being unconcious for like a half an hour I woke up and I noticed I was somewhere behind a big brown/red building. I went up to the front and I noticed the door wasn't locked. Well that's kind of handy I thaught. Let me see if someone here can help me go to the nearest hospital or something.

I walked around a bit checked some doors and then I entered a room. It was like heaven. A BIG 62"TV with consoles strewn all over the room was there. I almost shut my eyes looking at all of that supernatural goods.

There I was, eated filthy cornflakes, got peed on my feet, and hit my head on a tree, but all of that had paid off. It was heaven. I forgot about hitting a tree. A minute later this guy came by that asked 'Hey, what's going on man.' I totally forgot about why I walked in there, I just casually responded 'hey, wassup dude.'

I looked all around the room and there on that moment at around 7:48, I saw it. A PS2, with a Street Fighter controller plugged in. This was ment to be, I always wanted that. I always needed that. I walked over to it. and pressed the little eject button. This couldn't be, the Street Fighter Anniversary disk was in it.

I couldn't help it. I had to take it with me. I couldn't do otherwise, my mind didn't control my body anymore, it was instinct that took over. I took the PS2 and walked outside. But how did I get home? The tracks! I just needed to follow the railroad back again.

While I was walking there, I noticed a police car going back to where I came from. Then it hit me. I stole this PS2, I just stole it. In Broad Daylight. I penetrated a private space and just took something. I let the PS2 fall there in the bushes. But because of the rain it's probably broken now.

I'm so sorry. Now I read this on my computer (I bought a new monitor on the way back) and this guy was accusing me of stealing. I'm so sorry about that. Can you please forgive me Tom Fulp?

I sometimes have tweens acting weird too, I just delete the tween, make sure both are from the same group and then retween.

Well, this is a really good site for actionscript stuff. I know there are a lot of noobs around here, but some guys really do know what AS is all about. And if you ask a complicated AS question here, there are quite a bit of guys that are willing to help you.

I know no other site that has a forum like this one, with, a lot of active members, if you ask something simple, most of the time it's going to be answered in minutes while most other forums takes at least a couple of hours untill you get a response.

I know one dutch site that has a pretty big community located at flashfiles.nl but like I said, it's dutch.

They have pretty much the same information as you have, so this thread is really more of a space filler.

Well it seems that the stick gets up and then immediatly(sp?) goes back to standing half up.

What I think is happening here is that you animated him going fully up, but then for some reason you have the last frames of the movie still have the half up standing stick. So what you need to do is copy the frame with the upstanding stick and paste into the last bunch of frames.

But then again, I might be completely wrong.

Would you mind uploading it at Imageshack for all of us to see.

Because a movie that stops but the rest keeps playing doesn't really make any sence to me.

I don't agree with that. For now the biggest voting power is like what, 11? 12 maybe, and it's pretty hard to get such a voting power. With this included that might go up to what, 15, 16 or something.
We're not talking about a lot of power here. And all we're doing is give good artists a bigger voting power. And I don't see why that would be bad, as a good artist knows exactly what a good flash movie is and what not.

Well I don't see what you're doing here, first you start ranting about all those people that have good ideas/scripts that they shouldn't do that.

And then you go about how your scripts are very good.

Well, anyways, I'd like some examples of the scripts, because without that nobody is going to want to work with you.

I like this idea too, somebody who knows how to make good movies, knows how much work went into a good one, and also how much crap a bad movie is.

So if I understand correctly Ebaums put the animation on their site, later noogai said he would sue them then Ebaums said we will give $250 because we stole it, and noogai took it and now Ebaums is saying they didn't steal?

Well it's not bad, some pointers though:

- Allthough I know basicly nothing about html, isn't there a way to have it so the buttons on the left stays there all the time. All that changes when you click a button is on the right (it doesn't reload the buttons every time you click one) that would be better.

- The buttons don't seem buttons at first sight. They look like just some puzzle pieces that stand there on the left. Making them different colors would help, but also you should just put the names on the pieces because you can't look at the where your mouse is and read the red letters.

- What are the black squares doing there when you hover over them, they're weird.

For your first movie I would suggest nothing too big. Start small, a little stick fight for FBF-practice, or a short funny movie.

The idea of your first movie is mainly practice so it doesn't matter what you make, just how you make it.

I like it A LOT, its random but it got nice graphics, continue the randomness!

But I think the best way is buying a book.

Make sure the sound is streamed, click the frame, go to properties in the bottom and make sure sync: is not Event but Stream.

Well, you still have a long way to go until your first not blammed movie but you're off a pretty good start because you seem to have learned about layers, and the blood doesn't look that bad.
Ofcourse it is way, way too short to be called a movie. And the charactars is nothing more than a smiley.
Try harder next time, make it longer, make a background, more moving stuff, better drawn stuff, improve, you'll get there, someday.

Thats the code on victim. If the Scorpion hits it then it stays idle instead of playing an animation of its second frame. How come?

try changing _root.victim. to just this.
