Response to: How do YOU make your music? Posted May 3rd, 2014 in Audio

Lately I've been using a simple app on my IPhone called Yellofier. It allows two samples that you can add up to 8 start points to mangle till your hearts content. The last song I just uploaded a few minutes ago is a good example of the possibilities.

I just did a sample saying "OLD MCDONALD HAD A FARM" and then a 2nd clip saying EE II EE II OOOooOOOoO

hahahaha great fun.

How do YOU make your music?

Football is boring lame silly and whatever. Where can I find photos that denote this hatred?

I think it complements Logic very well, especially now that Rewire is 64 bit. It may not be worth the money though.

Propellerheads is allowing customers to name their price for Reason 6. I just bought it for $1.
Still not worth it?

Response to: Multiple Authors / Collabs Posted January 16th, 2011 in Audio

Here's a giant bright eyed dream of how it should look....Take a cue from ancestry.com as a figure. Use branches in conjunction with collaborating. Anytime certain artists collaborate they have, now, the new creation of an ALIAS, a.k.a. A BAND NAME. And a figuritive entitty web page garners all these specific collaborations.

Another example can be ripped "like the pages you manage on facebook".

Erm...maybe it's a lot of work for nothing, lol.

YEAH? Yeah.....no....but I ain't the one doing it, lol.

Response to: Blue Snowball Usb Mic? Posted January 12th, 2011 in Audio

Yes I have that mic sitting right behind me.

The problem with using this USB microphone is you need to adjust the "mic-pre" lol. THERE ISN'T REALLY ONE...Oh wait....yeah there is.

Go into Volume Control in windows.t
Then OPTIONS
then PROPERTIES
adjust volume for [X] Recording.
Show the following volume controls for BLUE Snowball.

Adjust the volume so when you can see the recorded signal in Audacity it is not getting distorted.

REALLY ANNOYING MICROPHONE

LMFAO. Rucklo....funny pic. AYE the first time I seen that block wave compression was on a song by Metric. And that's what's so amazing about the producer of metric, James Shaw. He can equalize all the sounds so good that once he CRANKS ALL TEH SONGS UP FULL BLAST AND MAXES THE SOUND OUT AT -.60dB IT SOUNDS LIKE FUCKING ANGELS. lol

I was wondering others opinions on how to avoid clipping, make sounds stand out and blend in when they need to and whether limiting is a god idea.

Okay, this is achieved through MIXING. Got a vocal track? Mix the frequencies for bass completely down to clear the KICK DRUMS and BASS INSTRUMENTS.

For KICK DRUMS and BASS INSTRUMENTS alter the frequencies for them so they stand out IN THEIR OWN WAY on particular frequencies.

TIP:
Find a free SPECTRAL ANALYZER (define) and LOOK to see what FREQUENCIES of the song are PEAKING the signal. Instead of turning the WHOLE SONG DOWN, find the instrument that's doing it and equalize it properly!

This is an amazing Spectral Analyzer. FREE.
Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst
Download as: Mac AU / Mac RTAS / Mac VST / Win DX / Win RTAS / Win VST / Win x64 DX / Win x64 VST

This will help you solve your problem PRIOR to using a limiter. Always use a limiter, I say. But EQ first!

Leave the frequency altering to you (or the mixing engineer). It's the easiest way for your tracks to sound similar to everyone.

The ATH M50's are a litle more expensive..... should I pay the extra money? Or are the sennheisers the way to go?

The Sennheiser HD 280 pro features reversible ear-cups and 32 dB of ambient noise attenuation. Great for DJs though I'm not sure you need all that for producing tracks at home. Also, these microphones have a great frequency response of 8 Hz to 25 kHz
(-10 dB/1 kHz), but the response curve is much too WAVY to do much for using them for audio production. All the frequencies are boosted nearly +10dB and a boost of +5dB to the 5k frequency range. Again, all this is great for DJs, hence why they're marketed that way. I would suggest staying away from these $150 headphones and going with anything else that won't alter the frequencies as much.

It's the best. Neither my mother, grandmother, or g/f like them. Is it a mans drink? I never considered a pink drink with balls in it to be very manly but...HOLY FACK THEY'RE GOOD.

My grandma doesn't like 'em cause I surprised her with the boba and she almost choked on it lol "WTF ARE THOSE SLIMEY THINGS?" she said.

IDK...I like something to chew on with my slushee of goodness.
