My dog is almost blind and deaf. It'd be a difficult marriage.

In my personal opinion, a good many of the movies and games in both Top 5's are pretty overrated.

But since they were rated that high anyway, oh well, congratulations for winning $250 plus a certificate and stuff.

The last Jerry episode in my opinion wasn't the best episode, but it was still a good movie and had no real flaws. I'm not really sure how I think of it as an ending.

Topic: Character closely following another

Posted: 10/04/09 04:48 PM

Forum: Flash

What would be the best way to ActionScript a character following another character closely behind, without the typical movie-clip-follows-mouse ActionScript? In games like Paper Mario, the 'partners' don't typically get stuck behind walls, they just follow the path that Mario takes, and even when he turns around, they switch to be right behind him.

Any ideas?

Yeah, I agree. It seemed like it was going to be some really deep creative in-depth constantly-changing game but instead it turned out to be a mediocre move-blocks platformer with scratchy audio. :(

I played Cave of Wonders. It seemed to me like it was mostly a rehash of Castle Crashing the Beard but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Waiting for the Bus! was phenomenal. It's happy and thrilling and sad and hilarious all in less than five minutes.

This is Only One Level Multiplied by Thirty was pretty good. I don't know about 4.50-good (I thought Achievement Unlocked was a more creative and fun game overall) but still certainly good.

I played Toss the Turtle for a little bit.
It's just like all the other cannon games I've played, just with guns in it. The rest of it is filled with Newgrounds and video game references. Well, now I see why it has such a high score... It makes me kinda sad. I should make a parody of Hedgehog Launch with Pico in it and get a 4.95.

4.73? How in the world could a game about shooting turtles out of a cannon score that high of a score?

...I guess I should play it later.

There are barely any popular artist submissions and the Portal says only a little over 100 movies were submitted yesterday.

Last time I checked there were at least 400 movies in the Portal. I wonder why it's glitching out.

Topic: New Games Section: Point N Clicks?

Posted: 08/10/09 08:14 AM

Forum: Where is / How to?

I've tried looking for point 'n' click games before but they're always in the Adventure games. You can't tell them apart from RPG battle games.

I think if it didn't have its own section, it should have a "subsection" in the Adventure Games category. Point 'n' Click games should be in their own list.

Posted: 07/24/09 05:46 PM

Forum: Where is / How to?

I know Egoraptor uses 400x zoom with the second-smallest brush in Flash. He most likely also uses onion-skinning, which allows you to see frames before and after the one you're editing. The onion-skinning button isn't really labeled but it's right below the Timeline. I don't know what framerate he uses but I would guess it's higher than 22.

Hm. I'd say "first page" but it probably won't be by the time I post this.

Anyways.

1. Mastermind 4

Another funny movie by The-Swain. No objections here.

2. Junior

It lived up to the rest of the This is J__ movies and took it someplace new.

3. Facebook Twitter

I didn't really enjoy for the most part but absolutely loved the new ending.

4. Cooking Sama

I didn't laugh at this. Rather, I cringed. I don't see how this pointless random movie about girls getting hurt or killed trying to cook accompanied by Kirby music got a higher score than CrippleCane. Though I suppose it was entertaining enough, since I watched it all the way through.

5. Jinx Hentai Parody

I still haven't seen this and I have my doubts that I ever will...

6. Retarded Animal Babies 21

I'm not a big fan of Retarded Animal Babies but I can't exactly give my opinion on this one since I didn't watch it.

1. Super Mario 63

This game is so full of glitches, bad scripting, and awful level design that it shouldn't have ever gotten a score higher than 4. Sure, it's big, and Mario can go up slopes. The rest of the game reeks of dead skunks.

2. Upgrade Complete!

I liked this game. Though I wish it was possible to downgrade things, because I liked the music and the lack of lag that came with the Atari-looking graphics, as opposed to the last graphic upgrade in the game.

3. Little Wheel

Combining ambience with serenity, simplicity, and fine unique graphics, this little game is a treat.

4. Use Boxmen

This game doesn't play perfectly well, but the concept is creative and there are some great puzzles.

5. D-Day Defender

Didn't play this one.

And those are my opinions. :D

Apparently the game has lumberjacks, axes, bulldozers, Keyboard Cat, Rick Astley, Longcat, Einstein, God, shotguns, robotic t-rex dinosaurs, time machines, chtulhus, krakens, and just about anything else you can possibly think of.

Think of the replay value.

Why is the whole staff trying to center everyone's attention on Reemus 3? I mean, sure, it's a good game, but frontpage, a huge ad banner, and two news posts? I sure hope this isn't because it's programmed by NegativeONE, because every game he programs seems to get a lot of attention anyway.

Well anyway I already got the Reemus medals, so I can't really test if they work.

What are the best DS games out right now that have lots of replay value without using WiFi? I'm looking for something that even after three or four days of play I won't just say "I'm done." Would Animal Crossing DS be one of those kinds of games?
