This is moreso advice for the future, but try and stick to the projects that you find fun and relatively easy to animate rather than ones that are a huge workload requiring perfect linework and whatnot. Animation should be something you do for fun, not just a boring process that you feel inclined to do.

Exactly what he said. If you don't have fun doing it and it becomes a CHORE start something new take the project as a practice. Also its common not to give a shit about clock day animations. They are gay and pointless.
Lock day animations however are actually good :P

Sprite is pretty good so I'm guessing Spritiing must be alright. So sure go do it and then move on to REAL animation after.
just dissed spriters everywhere sorry.

Sprite is a soda if you didn't understand it.
Also i actually read this thread and saw people were taking this seriously so heres my input.

I think that you need to learn the basic mechanics of animation If I were you I'd use sprites so you can understand the tools at your disposal in flash animation. Once you've got a grasp on it you should move on to other animation styles Stick figure animation is a great way to jump into FBF. After you are good with flash and have basic understanding of animation. Read up on some books, study cartoons, practice drawing and experiment with FBF or Tweening, whatever you please. And make some animations for us when your ready.
I wish I had experimented With ALL of those animation styles before joining this website lol.
Now I've got my head up my ass unsure of how to make a simple animation.

Its okay calm down. This has happened to me before. Just squeeze your hand with the opposing one and if you feel a sharp pain then you have fractured it. Smashing your hand will not sprain it since sprains are from overworking one of the muscles.
