any artist will just see this as an opportunity to expand their skills for others enjoyment.

if your so good as to win some cash along the way good on you i say

dude just fuck the shadows under the eyes and the tendons in the neck right off

its all nice to add detail which may appear on people but none of this compliments your character, right now she looks sick.

you should have patience and try again

eventually it will be a very nice piece of work

hum.

im pretty sure the next contest should be the conversion of characters to NEXT GEN models, so you give us a larger license to fuck around with these sprites.

i mean i like seeing things traced and coloured nicely as much as the next guy.

but i think next gen representations of our favourite characters would be cash money

anyone have an idea which game this fellah is from?

i saw him on the banner for the spriters resource and the hat sorta appealed to me

cheers

colour and thickness to lips?

Response to: [talk] High-def Sprite Contest! Posted July 12th, 2007 in Art

well you need a few more defining features which really clarifies her as a woman,

as her face as it is now is an almalgamation of male and female facial structure

(in other words add some eyebrows or something, she would look alot better with a definitively slender neck as it looks lackign right now)

and maybe as we are making it next gen sorta thing maybe some nice weapon accentuations and addition.

everyone likes big guns.

i hope i have done guybrush relative justice with this picture, though it is still in its draft stages.

it is going to depict herman and guybrushes first meeting on monkey island :)

i am in love with monkey island.

I am going to have to agree with my good friend Jeb; It is generic "fantasy" and pretty uninteresting.

Needs more hands, eyes, and mushrooms coming out of nowhere, and less Harry Potter/Puff the Magic Dragon-esque bullshit. The technical side of things show traces of laziness and/or incapability, though that might be a result of time limitations, I don't know/care.

Seems like the art forum just isn't getting better at all.

Puff The Magic Dragon is a drug reference.

and the artwork is a very nice incorporation of several ideas and tells somewhat of a story,

i enjoy pictures that have a certain depth and induces thought and discussion

though we may have seen something like it before, noone really cares.

It's an individual reproduction of a general fantasy idea and its very well done

good job.
