However this leads to interesting reflexions.... How much corrupt are the governments? How can this problem be solved? How should the politicians be taught so they don't steal so much ? etc

I'd like to listen your opinions

After college and things of the like, when I make a run for Indiana State House and later, State and U.S. Senate, I plan to bring something new. I want to be honest. We've seen what dishonest politicians and people like that bring. I'll run a fair, no-negative-ads campaign. You'll all be around to see it.

On a side note, a long forgotten thing called the "war on terrorism" seems to have escaped to back of everyones mind.

You know, I heard someone talking about that. They said that George W. Bush's ability to turn the world's eyes from Osama Bin Laden to Saddam Hussein in such short time is one of the most amazing feats of political flexibility ever. I have to agree, though it's really not a good thing. Now Bin Laden is alive and mad that we've forgotten about him.

Response to: Die Democratics Posted February 18th, 2003 in Politics

Democrats are decent human beings. While Bill Clinton wasn't the most moral man in the world, he did do a lot of good for the nation. He did erase the defecit and give us a surplus. It took George W. all of 2 years to get rid of that surplus and tunnel is right back into debt. Unemployment rates were rather low with Bill, and our economy was fairly strong. Now look at George W! The war! The war! Markets going down down! The war! The war! Yes, it's a bit exaggerated, but you can see how this is just like Reaganomics. It's Bushonomics.

The media tries to capture your attention, and it seems that the best way to do so is to shock you. that's part of the reason that the world seems so bleak.

That's most of the reason why I'm a journalist. Heh!

Yes. The French are just as bad as us Americans. It's just the opposite with them. Oh well. The less diplomatic side of me wishes they get at least one good reminder of who saved them in WWII.

And where are they? They being the weapons that Saddam has hidden so well that fleets of United Nations inspectors have found only remnants of weapons destroyed from the last Gulf War? Just a question. I don't see how a bunch of soldiers could locate what people trained in the subject can't. Don't say invasion, either. Either Saddam's going to light them off during the invasion, or they're not there, or he's hidden them in another nation.

I wouldn't go that far, sunshine. You have any idea how many people you'd have to kill to get someone who doesn't believe in War on Iraq strictly by party lines? Besides, security would be so high after Dick Cheney took office that no one would be able to take him out short of strapping a nuke to the Speaker of the House (exaggeration).

Again, we have no right to influence NK.

But you have to admit, they're a problem that's growing faster than Saddam and his phantom weapons. As I say, Pre-Emptive war is terrorism. But this is truly a sticky situation.

But to say that it "honors the memory", or any such thing, by giving money to their ancestors is pure crap. It's not accomplishing anything, and the people never suffered on account of it. All they're doing is milking the government for money.

I completely agree with this. I don't ask for money from the British government because my anscestors fought in the revolutionary war. I don't ask for money from Mississippi because their soldiers shot one of my ancestors on the battlefields in the Civil War. It would be for the best of the world if everyone could just move on, as difficult as it might be, as that would mean releasing blames and grievances.

Oh yes. We're in for some serious bloodshed and military/civilian loss. I wouldn't say Vietnam II, but it'll be plenty to make all of our 'allies' rethink their positions on why they even gave Prince George II the time of day.

There is a wording of the U.S. Constitution that I disagree with. I could be worded better:
---"...that all men were created equal..."---
This is just not true. Naturally, some kid down the street is probably able to jump a lot higher, or run faster than me, or whatever. It should read:
"...that all people were created with the right to equal opportunities..."

I don't think the fathers of the United States were thinking about sports when they were penning the parchement. Just a thought. I always thought they had morality and dignity more at heart while writing than basketball. I might be wrong.
