You honestly believe that the gamecube is a more powerful system? It is pretty common knowledge that in terms of raw system capabilities it goes Xbox(being the newest), PS2 (being actually good), Gamecube (being nintendos biggest mistake since Mario Golf).
First off, I don't not like the PS2. I think it's a fair sysytem and it's got a lot of good games. But you REALLY believe that it's graphically on the same level at the others? I won't even begin to pretend the GC can compete with X-box on graphics (although it is better in my opinion in every other respect aside from online gaming) but the PS2 is just old my friend. It can't do what the others can, sorry. I wish it could, so GTA would be prettier than it is. It's just not smooth unless it's an FMV...

I can't WAIT for the PS2 version. Why? Because it will be fun to laugh at them finally getting a crappy port of a great GC game. The load times alone will be unbearable, and it will NEVER be able to handle the same level of graphics.

It won't be called N5. At least, most likely not, because Nintendo has never numbered their systems. It MAY (rumored) be called the Nintendo 21 for Nintendo's 21 years in the game buisness, but nobody knows. Well find out a lot more at this years E3...

They also have Metroid, Zelda, and a bunch of other cool stuff, but that's okay, I can see you're not open to that idea.
However if you like games AT ALL, you may want to consider picking up a used Cube and RE4, then when you beat RE4 you could even return the Cube, because it's worth the trouble of getting the system. Seriously, it's that good. I'm playing it through the second time now, and I very rarely play a game twice (especially right after I beat it once).
And yes, I agree that Microsoft did a good job with their online plans.

I've heard of it... something about it being THE BEST FREAKIN GAME EVER!
Seriously. Go buy it if you don't have it yet. It's amazing.
KOTOR is a good game for the X-box.
Other than that you should probably just sell it and get a GameCube. =P
(Sorry, I just despise their controller design. Miserable...)
Hey, in case anyone hasn't seen it yet, Nintendo has a new patent. But I can't grasp what on earth it's about! Anyone have an advanced degree in electronics and can put this into terms everyone understands? The little diagram looks like nonsense to me... what kind of fixed viewpoint are they talking about? Just thought I'd throw it out there.
It's true, we could leave if we don't like the people on this board, but there are so many OTHER people that we may like, well, it just doesn't make sense to leave. Plus if the mature people left, who would start the new threads? =)
Create your own video games/character. It's even better than copying something already popular!
Otherwise I guess Viewtiful Joe could make a cool Flash...
Maturity is something that takes time to build. Some people get it early in life, and others die of old age without attaining it. That's just how it is, sadly. But when open up a place where people of any age can screech whatever they want, well, you're bound to get a lot of people who don't know how to write at a level of wisdom that some people can.
How I wish it wasn't so...
Yeah I have ZooKeeper- well... my girlfriend has it and I steal it to play a lot. But she's better than me. Just at puzzle games though I swear.
ANYWAY, it's pretty great. It's like a Flash puzzle game but with a touch screen. My only grip is that it's too short and the multiplayer pretty much sucks. I'd still buy it again though if I had the option.
Or rather, make her buy it again =)

Like grabbing something and shaking it around to get stuff off of it, or slicing pieces of flying fruit in half.
Yeah, I mean, no- wait...
Ok, yes I've seen the new Wario game. And yes I like it and am anticipating it. What I mean is that it looks/plays the same as the others in the sense of the whole mini-game crazy timer hurry hurry style. And I like that. Plus Nintendo took a chance on that style that hadn't been done before, which I wish more companies would do. Take a chance on a new style of game I mean. You know?
So in summation:
Wario Ware gooood... Me like... Grunt grunt.
The new Wario Ware game looks like more of the same...
WOO HOO!!
I just wish more companies tried new things like this. It's so cool, and very original, but everyone just wants to copy what's already out there...
Oh man, I can't wait for JUMP Superstars. I'm freakin addicted to One Piece... And YuYu. Woops, I got off topic again... better say something about the PSP...
Um... Any idea why they'd be releasing a keyboard attachment? That seems a bit much. By the time all these add ons come out and attach, well, the system will be as big as a laptop and do the same stuff... Only probably not as well and for less money.

Geez have you ever tried one of them? I really dislike RPGs in general and even I got addicted. It's just classic Nintendo- Take some random genre and make it Mario and good.
Seriously, pick up The Thousand Year Door. It's amazing from any gaming standpoint...
(Off topic)
The PS3 is due out in 2006 alongside Nintendo's next machine, and both will be shown in some form at the coming E3.
(On topic)
I don't get why Sony plugs the PSP as a movie player? You have to buy the movies in their PSP only format even if you have it on DVD or something...
Yeah that is a great game. I like the funny little man in the dojo who could kick the crap out of everyone almost instantly... I still have nightmares about him.
Ahh but from what I read all that Sony is releasing IS the value pack. I don't think you can currently buy it seperately. The reason for this is because they won't lose nearly as much money per unit as if they release it alone for $180. I don't know if it's a good idea, but what can you do?
I personally like my DS better, because obviously not for what's out now, but what is coming. I have to say, the PSP doesn't have anything I want to play as much as Mario Kart and Animal Crossing, but it's launch title amount is impressive. What, 23 games? I wonder how many of them are cheap ports/crap. Oh well, good luck to them. It'll be good for the industry as a whole anyway...
It needs a lot more work. As a professional graphic designer I can tell you that this logo will not stand in the real world. If you need something just for the time being it's fine, but it needs much more polish. Your illustration of the donkey is ok, but no one- NO ONE- hand writes text in a logo. You can modify an already existing font, but if you don't use some sort of real lettering the logo will always be doomed to look unfinished. Good luck, you've got a start now make it better.
You can optimize the artwork by selecting it and then going to modify shape optimize... That will help a bit. But FbF is always larger than traditional Flash animations, so just make it the best it can be and screw the file size, as long as it's worth it.
Anyone have other ideas?

Ha ha, no actually my friends all hate Enterprise too. They're old school trek fans like yourself. It's only I who watch Enterprise, because, I don't know, I just want it to be as good as TNG so I keep trying to telepathically help them during every show or something =)
Yeah that freaked me out in the begining too. When you test your movie, if you click on the button at the top of the window to size the window to fit the movie, you'll see exactly what will show up. I wish there were an option in Flash to have it open in that type of window everytime, but I haven't found one.
Oh and Dralnur, I didn't mean you! I meant, you know, in general. So many people enjoy just screeching for no reason.
I hate Q. I hate him so freakin much. Oh man, I swear... That stupid son of a biscuit... Why they didn't just kill him when he was human that one time...
Oh course, I'd be sad if he were gone. He's one of those rare villains you REALLY love to hate. I hate him SOOO MUCH!!
TNG really is the best out of them all. And I dunno, I kinda... sort...
(a little) like enterprise... Don't hit me.
But that's because I'm a very new fan to Star Trek thanks to my nerdtastic friends.
(Oh and you don't have to leave us all alone, I mean, that IS why this forum exists! You just have to put up with some immature kids who like to make fun of anyone and everyone to boost their own self esteem)
No no NO! Banana! BANANA!! How many times do I have to tell you!!!! =)
Seriously though, yes, the stage is that big box that's the same color as the background color you pick for your movie. The default is white. And yes, once you publish the movie, only things inside that box will show up. Nothing else.
That's cool and everything, but I think it needs more direction. Usually there's a theme or purpose right? I think collabs are better when there is an overal theme tying them together.
I don't think I'm ready for anything at the moment, but if you do another later, let me know. Or maybe if there's a cool theme on this one I can throw something together...
First- FOR ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY DON'T IMPORT THINGS FROM MS PAINT!!!!!!!!! Just learn to use the tools in Flash! They are better and will hold up better on the web.
To change your frame size (I assume you mean stage size) click on an empty part of the stage and then alter the numbers in the Property window.
Good luck!
Harvest Moon for the SNES... Or perhaps Animal Crossing. Or maybe Puzzle League...
Oh heck I don't know! There're too many. Right now I'm obsessed with Resident Evil 4. I don't know how Capcom did it, but they someone made it so the game is as addicting as a good ol' puzzle game or something. Must play mooooooore..... *drools like a villager*
I liked Mario Tennis, even though I thought the power shots would ruin the game. I guess I'm a tennis purist, but the power moves actually added some interesting strategy. What do you think?
Not to get off topic, but if you like Mario Tennis then Mario Baseball is supposed to be coming soon to the Cube. Sure, tennis is way better than baseball in general... but hey it'll probably be fun!
Anything to take the mind off of classes and work...
You should do a step by step complete breakdown of a tile-based game (like the kind where you collect items and then go to the exit). I think there are a lot of people looking to do things like that, but just don't know how. I myself am learning and have pretty much everything worked out finally except for the limiting where the can move/walls. Stupid walls... always getting my characters stuck...
Oh and how about a platformer?? I can never get those to work... One where you can't jump up through the platforms, because that seems to be everyone's problem...
Thanks! I know everyone appriciates people sharing what they know.
