Hey, cool, Shades of Red was up on the front page for Valentines Day when I came online tonight. I just thought I'd share that. I'm sure now that it was there people will be clammering for the next Shades Of installment.

We're not too busy until everyone finishes voting.

To make a song loop, just choose the option that isn't "stream" (sorry, it's late and I can't remember what it's called at the moment!) for the type of audio it is in the properties window. Then you can pick how many times you want it to loop and it will play regardless of what's going on on the timeline. Hope that helps.

So I think we have a small problem.

The only person who hasn't voted yet is DNR, and according to his post history, he hasn't been here for two months. So what do we do now? Anyone have any contact info for him? (His profile did not.)

Mynamewontfitin: Amazing art style, and you wrote that music? Wow. Impressive.

DNR: Oh you and your giant robots! Beautiful animation though. Your tweening was spot on!

MephistonX: After watching your movie literally evolve over time since the begining of the collab, and the super deep story you've got, this vote is for you. Really incredible.

Everyone in the voting DOES get to be in, right? We're just voting for who gets co-author spots. That makes me really happy, because then no one is left out and people watching get a really good variety of animations!

The collab was started in SEPTEMBER.

I know we're all for winning the "longest running collab ever" award, but it's time to wrap Shades of Purple up. I'm going to go start on Shades of Orange. =P

Seriously though, give us an update. Someone.

I don't want to leave jorncar out of the vote, but at the same time, I really don't want to vote sometime in Mid-March or something. This entry in the Shades Of series was started September 25th of last year. That's quite a long running time.

So I guess it's just, how soon can jorncar get his Flash done? I don't want to leave him out, but it's been almost two weeks since the last deadline. I think the problem is, a lot of people didn't participate in this one because it dragged on and on and on. If we drag voting on and on and on, people will start to lose interest again and then no one will vote. Things just need to get rolling, you know what I mean?

Like I said before, these are all important lessons to be learned by everybody. For the next 5 Shades, we should probably make the deadline much less than three months after announcement and actually stick to that first deadline. All this delaying is just making the project less fun and more of a chore. But they are lessons that are great to learn so we don't have the same problems again.

Forgive me if everyone else feels differently. I was just trying to give my opinion on what I thought was going on. I'm still all for the 5 Shades, and all for jorncar finishing up! =)

If Orb doesn't show up soon, we'll have to turn it over to TwinsenDoodle! ;)

Well I certainly agree that it is better the collab is the best it can be, rather than released on the anniversary. So good call. Perhaps you could at least mention the anniversary? Like "This month marks the 1 year anniversary of the 5 Shades collab!" or something.

Anyway, if jorncar can still get his movie done in time, we probably should vote. That was the plan from the begining. Even if everyone who submitted gets their movie in the final collab (which I think is the good way to go) we'd still have to vote to see who gets co-author. So I vote for a vote. Not to see who gets in (everyone should, there should be enough room), but who gets credit on that little bar next to the submission.

My animation is just about finished. I'm touching up a few backgrounds now, and will send it soon. I'll go back and check where I'm supposed to send it, unless you want to post the email address again.

jorncar, do you have a SWF of your file? I belive there are programs that take swfs and make them back into FLAs. I don't know if that would help.
