I thought of buying Windows 7 when it was out for 50 bucks, but my dad doesn't believe in discounts.

My computer is alive. Posted September 29th, 2009 in General

I swear my computer hates me and it doesn't want to be my friend. I bought an Acer Home computer about a year ago, but it always came with a bug in the screen driver. Problems started to build up, but I didn't care because I could make music. Recently my computer started seeing what made me happy and what pissed me off... it chose to do the things that pissed me off. I realized this so I wiped my hard drive (bad move) after backing up my computer, for I can install XP Professional instead of stupid Vista. Soon after wiping it I tried installing XP... nothing happened. I tried again... the blue error screen came up... I screamed at my computer and threatened it, but it laughed at me with electronic sounds. I then had no choice, but to install Linux Mint. I now have no FL Studio 8 and even worse... no FL Studio 9 *sob* which I installed yesterday. I now am typing this from the alternative side of operating systems. I hate my computer *Linux crashes*... motha-

Anti-Autotune Rap Collab Posted August 15th, 2009 in Audio

Hey everyone, G-Ray here and I was just listening to KRS-One and Buckshot's "Robot" and Jay-Z's D.O.A. (Death of Autotune), and I noticed how true these things are and wanted to make a collab with some people on this site. If this collab is to take to take place, we will need a very talented producer, talented sampling artist, and a few talented rappers. Also if this collab is to take place, there will have to be a clean version and an explicit version (One for radio play, I know people that's why, and the other is to show off how many times you can cuss... yea I have no other ideas for explicit). So hit me up on aim (if I'm on) or pm me for more details, and don't forget to pass this around.

Tomorrow I'm going to have the first meeting to present what we are going to do with the event. I have one song to present so far. Please contribute, I was thinking of giving out cds of the songs that were showcased at the event, so this is a good opportunity to get your music known by the general public. As I said earlier, if your religious views make you feel uncomfortable about this opportunity, feel free not to join.

Does the VA competition only have to be three voices or can it be more, because I read somewhere it has to be at least three.

Go away. Take your sanitary graffiti, your new old school, and your imperial ideals, and leave.
OK, I'm an atheist and all, but you're reacting as if he was trying to push religion down your throat, which he wasn't. He was just asking for music. So chill, man...

Thank you Jeepis that was all I was asking, and Moose, what I meant by Underground was Newgrounds' Audio Artists because nobody knows about them. I wanted this to be a chance for you artists to get a chance to put your music in public in an endorsed event. I also said if your religious views bother you when doing this, feel free not to join, I understand. I am just here asking for music, I never said repent because thou are not holy, I just want music for the event, and I know people here have an amazing talent for it.

Um...

I'm not trying to hint towards Christian hip hop, we are bringing in people from all walks of life, just like our graffiti battles.

Response to: Poetry Type Music Posted June 29th, 2009 in Audio

I forgot to mention, this is being endorsed by The Church on the Way"s Living Art Team, which consists of Grafitti artists, and artists in general. If this opportunity to get your music out to the public offends your religious views, feel free to not join. If you want to just see people actually have a good time, and enjoy awesome music from the true definition of underground artists, then feel free to join. If you feel still feel iffy of our motives, please feel free to ask me. We plan to have this event as successful as our graffiti battles (which normally reach about 100 people). Please consider joining this, this is a good opportunity for all.

Poetry Type Music Posted June 28th, 2009 in Audio

Ok, I need some talented artists who will be down to make some music for a poetry jam that I am helping to run. The point of the the poetry jam is the following:
1. Allow people to express thier poetic mind to the Van Nuys community.
2. Bring Poetry into the community of Van Nuys.
What we need is some music to play in the background of the event, and some music to run while people are reciting the poetry. If possible it would be nice to have a main theme for the Poetry Jam made by the Newgrounds users, but its not necessary. Some preferred music styles are Old School, Jazz, and whatever fits in with the cafe scene. There is a deadline, it is on July 10, 2009. We will give credit to you guys during the poetry jam in some way. This would be a very good way to get your music out to all those in the Van Nuys community. If any questions are still on your minds, please post your question in this thread or pm me.

I am willing to make hip hop music w/ lyrics for this challenge. Remember, hip hop is good for any chill moments in your game, and hardcore hip hop is good for hyped up sections of your game. PM me if interested.

Response to: Hiphop Underrated On Ng!?!? Posted April 22nd, 2009 in Audio

I think its safe to say that ALL music is underrated in the AP. Sure since I love hip hop I would say that hip hop is underrated, but if I ask a lover of techno if his/her genre is underrated, he/she will most likely say yes. The point is that Newgrounds is a place for "Everything, by Everyone.". Shouldn't that slogan apply to the audio portal artists too?

Response to: Hiphop Underrated On Ng!?!? Posted April 21st, 2009 in Audio

In my eyes the audio portal only developed to serve flash artists. I don't believe it should stay that way. I see potential for something as big as the flash portal with audio, it's just not happening yet.

I think there will soon be a music revolution on the audio portal, just like hip hop started as a revolution. Maybe to hold a few contests that don't involve the prize to be bragging rights, but actual things like the contests that are available for the flash artists.

we guys have to be positive on every genre! that's only a problem many guys has too small brains or something, because they just can't think that.
we guys just have to be positive as possible, to make NG even better! there's better submissions, because there many reviewers gave a great bunch.
and NG has to make a new update: if someone votes 0 or 1, you have to review fairly and choose the reason.

I like every single type of music excluding country and metal. I think these game developers should have a wider ear for music in their flashes. Sure rock may have the epic scenes in movies, but they should have hip hop in chill scenes. The day when every genre is put into a flash, and the flash is awesome, heaven on earth has happened.

Response to: Hiphop Underrated On Ng!?!? Posted April 20th, 2009 in Audio

Wow, should I post while this goes against my gut instinct. Yeah I should. I for one think that MAINSTREAM hip hop sucks. Although I don't listen to much underground, only because I'm kinda busy with school, church, and my Hip Hop music, I do understand there is much better music than that mainstream crap. I also know that unfortunately that hip hop has an extremely bad name with these rappers with one hit wonders. Maybe someone should host some sort of rap/hip hop battle on NG to allow some sort of public hand to decide which is the best rapper/producer. The way this might help the image of hip hop is by showing the public that we can actually do good music if we put our mind to it.

It's rappable, but I'm just warning you that it's a little fast-paced. It also varies greatly from verse to verse, so it's more like a story than simply a beat. You would have to wrap your lyrics around the beat instead of just rapping on it. Also my most recent one.
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1 88091
Main problem with this one is slight clipping that I didn't catch when I had originally made this with really bad headphones.

A jazzy RnB beat. Might be a little too slow for your tastes though.

I have a fourth one called Talk some sweet Talk, and it's on my profile, but I'm not recommending it because it sucks. If you wanna use any of my beats though, just send me a PM letting me know.

I like these beats, I am gonna think it over and decide which one is best, then I will pm you to tell
you my final decision. Thank you so much. In the future I hope to be working with you.

Talented beat makers, help please. Posted March 9th, 2009 in Audio

I need a hip hop beat that has a major influence with classical music for a musical project that I am making, and the beat needs to be rappable. The project is due in about a week and a half and I need to have it presented in a meeting to see in which way this song can be used. If you want more information, you can PM me and I will explain more.
P.S.: It needs to be rappable for I can rap on it, if I didn't make it clear in this post.
