God bless the race card.

As for the definition of racism i have to agree that it's used way to much by alot of people when it should not even apply.

I literally dislike anyone that i do not know well(i.e strangers or aquantances), now that's just me but i could easily go out and find your average over sensitive, over proud(of their ethnicity) person of a different ethnicity and tell them i dislike them and big shock....They would throw the racism word at me despite all logic attempts to explain that i'm probably partially paranoid or whatever.

A fine example also is the subject of race and intelligence, Seen a few cases where people present all the numbers/facts for outlining the differences in intelligence and suddenly all those "Everyone is equal! were all human! blah blah blah!" throw the out the racism word.

It's like people are blind to the fact there are actual differences between races...Anyone here ever seen a 100-800 M race before?

Posted: 10/24/09 04:07 PM

Forum: Politics

Not to generally get into the ethics of meat eating but more of the "favouritism" that we show when doing it(E.g it's taboo to eat mainstream pets compared to those that aint)

People have been eating dogs/cats for years now and still do in some places/cultures, one arguement i suppose for people viewing it as a nono is the history of the animals. Dogs for example have been used for so many years in so many ways their "usefullness" outweighed using them as food. A bond of sorts has been formed between our two species(or atleast we like to see it that way) dog is "mans best friend" for a reason.

Their main purpose has been used in hunting for hundreds of years now, also the use of their wolf cousins has been used for sleding to.

As food became easier to get, the use of hunting itself has died out and so has the mass use of dogs. So i suppose they became more of a pet over the years in a sense that "they earned it" and still do to this day(Sheep dogs and so on)

That said it's probably economically cheaper to mass produce chicken/beef or what have you which probably plays a part.

Topic: UK police state - are we their yet?

Posted: 10/19/09 05:27 PM

Forum: Politics

What's sad is that as far as i am aware, given the amount of alarming CCTV in london city alone the amount of crimes helped solved because of them is pathetic at best.

As for the police state notion, i would say we are from it. While we do have a strong police force/presence we also enjoy an extreme amount of luxaries and freedoms in comparison. The recent protect as that power plant cost half a million to fund the police opperation there, It's one thing to protest peacefully and another to use violence/be pricks(though the same can be said to the police in equal measure)

Granted the police have had alot more powers over the years ever since good ol 9/11 and the threat of terrorism became ever more popular. People are searched more often, questioned more often and so on....Hell the police even have a special task force to monitor potential "threats" as in people who organise the protests/rallies and such. While i can understand the usefullness of such monitoring there have been examples of OAP's and other various people having actually had tabs kept on them which is amussing.

Still though i have never been searched/questioned or asked to move along, then again i have never been to a protest...never really seen the point myself but that's probably from never feeling as passionate about certain issues. Still i do think we are far off from a police state scenario(Unless we do actually get the conservative government again...)

Posted: 10/19/09 05:15 PM

Forum: Politics

I saw a documentary a few months ago around 2am(was part of a series of channel 4) which explored stemcells, imortallity and the ability for human modification. To be honest i love the idea of immortality itself like most people who dislike(or even hate) death as it is a very possible goal we can achieve, i would think the advancement of the average human life span over the last 100 years gives us a good chance anyway.

Basically though it went on about the possibilities of current tests we do on animals, long story short scientists can currently produce mice and other various animals/insects that are faster/more intteligent/stronger and so on. The potential to produce human children who are 50% more inteligent, 30% stronger, 40% faster and so on are simply to be blunt awesome.

From a personal view funding into those areas in which humaniity itself could become gods(in the sense of todays humans vs possible future humans) i'd love to see, the notion of enhancing our race and becoming masters of our own evolution does excite me to be frank. Although it does obviously bring up those ethical/moral questions.

"The sanctity of human life", "playing god" and other similar arguements for one thing, though looking forward questions of humanity also come up if we went the path of improving the replacement of human limbs/organs with robotic ones...do we lose our humanity if that kind of modification becomes the future? What about the technology itself to improve humanity, will it only be available to certain people?(economic wise it could cost alot to do to children) and if so would that create a split in humanity of these "super altered humans" and then us "norms"?

Granted those are hypothetical questions based on what the future of technology/human improvements happens to be.

Must be hard for poor people to take a walk once in a whie i see...Hell you have to be be pretty damn poor these days not to be able to afford all those "healthy" options tesco has.

I dislike the notion of a hate crime anyway, as if doing a crime against another person is more serious because they fall under the hate crime category. Beating the shit out of someone should be punished the same no matter who the victim is. That is another arguement though.

As for fat people, being fat generally sends a message that your lazy/greedy/weak willed and various other things because most of the time it's something you can control. Now i like women with "meat" on them or are plump here and there....same can be said for women who like a "big man" in the non-penis sense. Now the difference between that and fat people is when you can't fit your arms around that person for a hug anymore...that's just gluttony and lazy at its peak.

Why should people like that get special treatment? my/your/our taxes in the NHS get eaten up day in and out by people exactly like that(same goes for people who refuse to give up drinking/smoking and end up in hospital every month) because they are in my view just pathetic, i'll repeat i can understand some cases where medical issues come into play(and emotional even) but people who just allow themselves to end up like that deserve their fate.

Now i have no standards when it comes to comedy and jokes(replace Jew with fatman/gay/homo/necrophiliac/black guy/retard/cripple) which means i'd laugh at a fatty joke with equal measure to any other. If i saw a fat person falling over and struggling to get up, i'd probably giggle in my head or chuckle out loud if it was hilarious...if i was insulting someone i'd use what would hurt them the most so "shut it ya fat c-nt" or "shut it x insult" but i only ever insult people when i have a reason to.

But you would think common sense would apply but i bet this kind of thing would get some form of support over here.

Topic: Welfare reasonable in democracy?

Posted: 10/14/09 08:54 AM

Forum: Politics

To be honest they really need to reform alot of welfare systems, it's just a stupid situation where person X on welfare gets say £500 a month with their rent/council tax paid and person. While if they went out to work for the minimum wage they would get less and be worse off....That's the kind of situations that needs to be sorted. Working 40-50 hours a week just to be either worse or no better off than on welfare is just silly.

Also when it comes to the issue of people who abuse the system/to lazy to work they should be given the ultimatum:

1. Go and participate in X course of Y list each week and get yourself some training
2. Community service
3. fail do to any of above(or whatever other options) and you get no benefits

There is currently a thing going on in the UK where people on longterm benefits have to go on an 11 week course. Basically it's ment to help out with CV making, job interviews and various other skills and by the end of the course they should have a job(For every person who gets a job the private companies get an extra £100 for showing results). If people refuse they can get their benefits cut off.

That excludes those who really need the benefits though(seriously ill, unable to work and such)

Topic: Regulating porn vs regulating food

Posted: 10/04/09 06:56 AM

Forum: Politics

It could come down to a needs vs wants arguements, food is one of the basic human needs along with water, shelter and so on. Porn is just a general passtime, hobby or form of entertainment for people (sex for reproductive purposes is different from general pornography itself.....though i'm sure there is a fetish out there of people getting off on birthing videos)

While granted unhealthy food over a long period is very bad for you physically(also mentally possibly in the sense that your starving your brain of good/vital nutritian i suppose) compared to pornography it is a basic human need for survival.

Now, if we talk first world for a moment then i could imagine it actually being regulated/banned or whatever. Food is more than plentifull, we already so many health issues as nations which this type of food has caused(Though i suppose there are fatties who got fat eating healthy food....now that would be just lazy though)

Though given populations keep increasing and it's predicted in X or so years when we reach a certain point in population, then first world nations will actually be struggling to fill their food needs to.(which could bring up another argement if banning unhealthy food now would even have a point)

Porn itself is generally seen to be harmfull to alot of thing, first being "the children" in which i can agree to a certain age(like 12/13) kids really have no needs to be exposed to the issue.....though from there on personally i fail to see the damage it does when kids already get taught sex ed.(Seriously i could show people thousands of males in my generation who knew of porn from like 10 or so and are fine adults)

Porn is also argued to corrupt and/or devalue societies morals/values(say hello to the banning of "hardcore" porn in alot a few places for example....though in the UK that has more to do with a certain murder case) These arguements generally come from very prude like governments, old fashioned farts or your good old religous folks.

<Insert religous zealot reasons>

Probably some hypocrosy on the the part of "What i shove in my mouth is up to me" and "what kind of porn i watch is up to me" fronyt anyway i can atleast.

Unless the person smoking goes up to you and starts harrasing you by blowing smoke in your face, then bar that person deserving a smack in the face there really aint an issue with second hand smoke being "assault".

Even attempting to follow that route of logic just opens up a pandoras box full of idiocy that everyone would try.

"That bitch winked at me, she was asking to be raped!"
"The supermarkets 6ft wide doors are to small for my fat ass, that's discrimination!"

Despite the fact some could have more logic to them than others, no one really forces you to stand next to a person who smokes. I'm sure you could come up with a bunch of scenarios but with smoking already having places that ban it, anti-smoking adverts and clear message saying it either kills you or harms others around you, smoking as it is is fine.

I find it depends on how you watch the animes really, i like the subbed ones as i find japanese voice actors put alot of emotion into it.(and sound better) When it comes to english dubs i want to hurt people as i've fallen in love with the subbed sides. A few animes i can watch subbed though as the voices actually work for the characters.

As for annoyance in some of them i cannot stand the dubbed versions when they ever mention "moves" or "techniques"......really the "swirling ball of the thunder gods crotch" would probably sound good subbed compared to hearing it in english.

On a sidenote of the "benefits culture" the UK seems to have, quite a few people who want to get back to work are in those situations of either kids/loans etc. Assuming they could land a job it generally has to be both stable and often above the minumum wage...why? because benefits quite often than not gives them more than alot of jobs available could. It pays their rent + the added sum they get is usually alot more than a fulltime job could get them which shows how the system can be flawed at times.

That's generally a moral issue to be honest.

As for the case in question i think if the burgler had died by say blunt truama from a heavy object, a knife or whatever else in terms of "self defence" then the guy would have got off. He used a gun though which was probably the wildfire for the court case since they are illegal.

As for the right to defend yourself and all that it comes down to your moral standing, personally if i felt my life was in danger(guy had a knife to stab me or whatnot) then i would feel happy to end his as fast as i could.(And dispose of the body) Same would apply in those "i only ment to beat the shit out of him but not murder him!" cases, in situations like that i'd feel more than ready to use a weapon and/or weapon to defend myself and dispose of the threat(fuck his/her right to life).

That's because of the whole "feminism" bollocks that happened. When women were told that they had rights and all that, they started to get offended by the slightest little thing... for example the word "cunt".

Did you know there is a street in Oxford called "Cuntgrope Lane"?

Don't see a problem with casual sex to be honest(the emotionless kind), it's up there in popularity with binge drinking and the like i think.

When you bring emotion into sex it gets complicated, i think hookers would have some knowledge about this with atleast a few of their clients. Now personally i love most women, they can be total skanks,(yumyum sloppy seconds) big with a bit of pooch on them and so on. While the "love" is not for them emotionally, it's for them physically atleast.
