Hmm, you're in the correct year but not what I'm looking for, sorry.
This was back around 2006 so my memory is pretty vague but this will forever annoy me.
There was a website that had a bunch of guys making funny videos (or it had a collection of funny videos posted)
The one I can always remember was a parody of old dubbed kung fu movies but can never find it went something like this..
2 guys playing Burnout. one guy "wins" and goes on to say "I smoked you!". The other guy challenges him and they do the traditional old school zoom in reaction and they switch to badly dubbed voice mode.
They go out back and start having a hilarious battle. (At one point I am sure one of them did the reverse footage technique where he jumped off something high up but they reversed it making it look like he jumped really high up)
Then eventually one of the guys gets beaten so badly and has to use a wheelchair.
I thought this would be easy to find since there is quite a few key things happening but no luck.
There was another short video I remember where its all tense and a guys in a parking lot getting chase from a bunch of others, scary thriller style but the punchline was they were just returning his lighter or something.
There has to be someone out there who visited this website all those years ago or seen one of these videos.
Please help if you can,
Cheers.
So I turned the music on, grabbed my pad and pencil and started doodling away. Eventually I ended up drawing this ...ninja type guy and I was pretty surprised at how well he turned out (based on my own skill haha)
So I wanted to draw a bigger more detailed version of him. But sadly it went downhill from there :(
I think I prefer the doodle lol.
Anyway can someone point out the main faults on the big version. Let me know WHY it doesnt look right. I think its mostly the legs...and that ugly arm.....not sure...
(I boosted the contrast/brightness on photoshop to help it stand out better. Please take no notice on my red doodling...the empty space was annoying me lol)
Im not all great myself at art but I put your image into paint and had a look at where your guide lines would be and tried my best to see where they should be.
Left = My first take on how it could be?
Right = Me looking at where your "guidelines" are
Bottom = I noticed my attempt at the top left corner was a different angle so I made these to be a little more closer to the originals angle. (its not tilted as low)
Just throwing in my 2 cents, :)
Hope its helped in any way
(PS. I like how you drew the hairstyle. No way I could get that looking right if I tried haha)
Ages ago I had a project in mind I wanted to do for so long. But after a while it got put aside.
So I thought id upload this fella :) He was the main character.
I am guilty of the usual anime/manga style :( and my art is VERY inconsistent which drove me nuts.
This first picture is my best/fave of him. Though I could never get the legs right in this pose :(
More to come (wish I could upload them all in 1 post)
Thoughts?
15 minutes, busted out ye olde pad and pencil. Then remembered why they were collecting dust LOL
(Been playing a lot of Mortal Kombat 9 lately) :p

Thats not what I ment smarty pants
Hey no problem. Yeah tracing is an option. But if there is easier ways of doing things then I like to find out about them before I end up in a habit of doing something a slower/difficult way.
Im no talented artist with time to spare so my skills are pretty limited :p
I know for a fact I wont get anywhere near the right results with tracing (but thats because of my own ability). So if this ends up being the end of the thread, thank you all for trying to help :)

Ops. sorry bout that.
I tried a little adjusting your image, concentrating on the far left stock image.
Something a little more like that. Like ive turned him more closer to a real looking video game character. That's sort of what i'm getting at.

Ok we'll stick with that the now. So say I got a photo of someone. Attempted my immensely detailed, computer-drawn clothes but it always looked fake/stuck as I dont have the skill to make something look as real as can be.
So I make the photo look more "fake" to make the clothing seem more apart of it.
? :)

To be honest, less cartoony.
The source image would hardly be changed.
You might understand when you read my reply to the other guy I just posted :)
I know I know it sounds like something that one would want to do so he/she can pretend they spent hours making a "realistic looking picture". But thats not my reason.
My reason may seem a little more sad haha but I wanted to see if it can be done.
Basically I wanted to have a real person image. But draw clothing (and other elements) on them. But I will never be able to get realistic results. So i thought why not make the picture less realistic so the clothing will match up.
Get what im meaning now?
I have been trying to find pictures but without any luck. Im starting to doubt if people are even trying this but it must be possible.
There is a lot of great artworks out there that are close to real looking. But im going the other direction.
Taking a real picture and making it look like it was drawn. But dont confuse this with the cartoonish effect.
Take this character from the final fantasy movie as an example...
PICTURE
Forget that she was created using CGI and pretend that its a real woman having a photo took.
Then you load it into photoshop and make it look like that. A bit more simplified and less real looking.
lol having a hard time explaining this.
I don't know if there is a term for this kind of technique. So here goes...
How do I make a real life person look more....Computer generated?
There is loads of ways to "Cartoonify" people in photoshop. Some just lazily using poster edge bla bla.
But can anyone link me to a tutorial or something that shows how to make a real life person (or any kind of object like a car for example) look like a 3d render (if that is a better term)
Hope ive explained this well enough.
Cheers
u beat me to it,
thanks for the replies everyone
cheers liljim for the examples and links
ok so disabling the tv's receiving capabilities is to prove I cant watch live broadcasts.
So what about proving I have no intention of watching live streams?
Is the fact I cant disprove it enough for them to still charge me?
Im not trying to think of a workaround to watch tv without paying a licence. I am very close to watching zero tv at all.
This is me making sure I dont have to pay a licence even though I would have a tv in the house but having its receiving capabilities disabled, because I have no intention of watching tv as its being broadcasted.
It started with one day me thinking "There must be a line between TV and PC Monitor...and since I use my TV as my monitor....what can i do to make the tv not a tv anymore and more of a monitor.
But it is starting to look like tv licencing affects anyone with an internet connection as well (with or without a tv) thanks to live streams. Which i disagree with since you will probabaly be accused of this and cant disprove it
Apologies if I wasnt clear on my question. I will try to help.
I hardly watch ANY television whatsoever.
It looks like the TV licence must be paid if you watch or record a programme being broadcasted live. Wether its by tv signal or internet stream.
I was thinking, "what if i disabled my tv from being able to receive any broadcasts and only use it as my PC monitor and for xbox/ps3"
But it seems this leaves the live bbc internet stream to be sorted. Id have to prove I dont watch any live streams.
Whoa easy guys, I am happy with all the replies as long as they relate to the question and is backed up.
I didn't know the BBC news had a "live" stream (dont bother much with the tv news thanks to the net)
So it looks like even if i ditch the tv all together id still have to pay a TV licence for owning a PC with an internet connection since I "could" watch a "LIVE" stream of a BBC programme.
Even though how stupid does it sound to pay a tv licence if you didnt have a tv at all.

First paragraph.
But it says if you watch or record TV as it's being broadcast
I wouldnt be able to do any if I disabled my tv from receiving the broadcast.
It would basically be a pc monitor with the ability to be used with games consoles too
Say I disabled my TV from receiving any broadcasts. No aerial and no scart socket, and whatever else may have to be took out the game.
The pc uses its own socket.
Xbox uses the component cables
PS3 uses hdmi
Would I have to pay for a TV licence?
Ive asked a few people and got different answers but no one was sure.

It's only right!

The media and the fans will never change. The next world cup will have the same hype, and will the others.
I just wish they would keep it in their own country
