Maybe its just because im comparing it to download then, metalheads are fwendly <3

Armor Games t shirts are awesome, im GETTING one.

I saw Prodigy at Download this year, all I could hear was people chanting "turn it up"! Shame, they blew my mind in 2006!

I find the general atmosphere at Reading to be pretty shitty, although ive never been to Leeds. It just doesnt seem to be about the music, at all. It sells out in like an hour every year, before the acts are even announced. I went last year to see ratm and had a great time, but compared to Download 99% of people are posing cunts looking for trouble rather than good music.

No no, they want to sponsor my game and offered a copy of their King.com Ludo board game as part of the sponsorship deal. I just thought it was random as hell, never had anything other than money. Sorry, i suck at explanations :P

Has anyone else had weird things offered as part of a sponsorship deal?!

The more the monetization network of flash games develops the more disgusted I feel with the outcome, if I make another game in my life, I hope I can get newgrounds sponsorship, or kongregate, I think kong has a solid sponsorship program. As I say this though, no doubt I'd take a great offer from a site that wants to whore their name on my game. It's strange trying to combine a mix of creative gradification and financial gratification, but I suppose this is nothing new...so I digress...

Some board game, im guessing they have king.com branded version or something. Do not want. Id love to get a game sponsored by NG, Tom said he really liked Penguinz but they werent looking for any sponsorships at that time, shame :( The kong sponsorships are great if your game does well though, Julians been talking to CandyStand.com abut Guinea Pop, apparently they are doing performane based sponsorships too.

I'm a pre-IB student and my school requiers me to do a service learning project, in this service learning project I need to do something that will help my community and or the rest of the world.
For this project I decided to raise awareness of PKD, get people to donate to the cause, help find a cure, that kind of stuff. Yet I realized more money can be made from the paid ads, this money can be donated to helping research the cure thus helping victims of PKD even further. I'm planning on assembling a group of animators and submitting a flash every week to raise awareness and to raise some money with the ads, if your interested in joining please message me, tomorow I will probably make a larger topic for people who want to help and what not.
My question is how exactly do the ads raise money? I read the FAQ page but didn't really understand most of it, also would I be able to make a special account only made for the donations (somwhere where all of the money would go to so each animation could have it co-authored so the money would all go to one source)

Sorry for the wall of text

I guess its pretty obvious how the ads make money, a small amount is made every time someone sees (more if they click) an ad in your game/movie.

When you submit something to the portal you can choose which user accounts you want the ad money to go to, and at what percentages you wish. Just set up an account for the cause and point 100% of the revenue towards that account, simple!

Good luck, sounds like a great idea!

Any Mac users upgraded to Snow Leopard yet? Im debating whether its worth it. Loving the £25 upgrade price, fuck you Windows!

Taking images and filtering the shit out of them just looks crap, sorry. I know you are trying to do something a bit different, but from the screenshots it looks poor. Maybe trace over the images, make them a bit more stylized?

I dunno, you just seem to be putting a lot of work into this and it seems a waste when you take all those images and make them look like shit by putting them through filters.

Ive had this same problem with the colour chooser in Flash for as long as I can remember. Sometimes it just decides nope, I like this colour, and if you try and pick another it applys it, but reverts back to its fucking favourite colour of the day again, so you cant tweak it.

Seriously this happens in every version of Flash ive used, Windows and Mac. What are you fuckin' about at Adobe?

From what Longanimals said, they got $23k from the sponsorship+5k more if it did well on Kong(which is did) which makes $28k alone. Its gotten over 1 million views on Kong in a few days also, which with 50% revshare has to be at least $2000 more.

It took them 6 weeks to make that game, dear god !

Dont think thats right, they got offered $23k but went with the kong performance based sponsorship instead, i think :) I know he did $7k worth of licenses over the weekend though, bastard!

These kong sponsorships are goldmines if you get a hit btw, if anyone gets offered one on a game they think will do, fucking take it, even if you have high offers from other sites, so glad we turned down the $6k offer for Penguinz in the end.

Does anyone know any sites with good wall art? I have a new room and want to filll my walls with inspiration!

I found Ive completely lost any lack of motivation for making games now. I remember when I first started making games I had to force myself to sit down and finish things, probably one of the reasons penguinz took so long in the end.

You just have to keep yourself inspired, fill the time youre not working with art and conversation and youll never wanna stop.
