Topic: Evolution and Sexual Orientation

My question being, why is homosexuality accepted as normal when it is unnatural?

Natural selection says that only those most capable of producing healthy offspring are the 'fittest' and thus the most fit will keep their genes in the gene pool while those infertile or simply too unhealthy to produce offspring will die and their genes weeded out. Should sexual orientation be genetic, then shouldn't homosexuals be the arch-enemy of natural selection, and be completely eradicated by millions of years of evolution?

Actually, there is a growing amount of research stating that homosexuality is transferred via a recessive gene on the mother's side. So suppose someone has two children. In one child, the gene is expressed (he is homosexual), and in the other, it isn't (she is heterosexual). Both children still have the gene and can transmit it to offspring. Read the book Genome by Matt Ridley. He does a good job explaining how seemingly undesirable genes (at least from an evolutionary perspective) still exist even after millions of years of evolution.

Hamandchees3, thank you for making one of the most rational posts about politics and the Iraq war I've ever seen on these boards.

The first time I used the Internet was way back in 6th grade (about 10 years ago). We were being taught how to use Powerpoint because the faculty thought it would better prepare us to go online, making websites and such (I'm not kidding). We were only allowed to visit one website: http://www.com

No you do not. If you did, kids in Africa would not be starving.

Actually, we do. Here are a couple of articles proving it.

Actually, if women were allowed to go topless, people would probably get used to it eventually, and female breasts would lose the sexual allure/stigma they've been given by our culture. Much like male toplessness, it would be considered normal and acceptable.

I don't want to vote for Hilary, and I don't think she'll win. I think the only chance she would've had is if Condoleezza Rice had run for President as well.

While I won't vote for her, I think it would be hilarious if Hillary got elected. Because Bill, famous for his, shall we say, "disrespect" for women, would become the nation's very first "First Man."

Topic: Why are young people liberal?

Posted: 04/25/07 06:42 PM

Forum: Politics

Well, getting back to the original topic, I'd say that it might be a matter of perception.

Every new generation (aka "young people") comes up with new political and economic ideas. Since any new idea is typically seen as "liberal", we associate the youngsters with most of the aspects of that belief system. As the generation ages (becoming the "older people"), their ideas become the norm, and are thus viewed as "conservative."

This content doesn't appear to be stolen, IMHO. The games are unaltered, everyone gets credit, and the disclaimer says,

"funny-games.biz does not own nor does it claim to own the copyright to any media found on this website, if you are the owner / original producer or copyright holder of an item found here and would like recognition for it or would like it removed, please contact me. "

So unless the owner(s) start(s) slapping on watermarks and taking away credit from authors, I wouldn't get too upset.

I feel most sorry for the taxpayers of the state of Kansas. I wouldn't tolerate it if my tax money was going to this sort of thing!

It pains me that the crazy fringe religious groups like this get the most media attention. It gives reasonable Christians a bad name (and believe me, we do exist).

What if we instated this rule:
Nobody gets to hit anybody.

I kinda like that one.

But, back on topic, if a woman hits a man who doesn't deserve it, he has every right to defend himself. But if he provokes that hit, then he should not strike back.

Actually, I'd bet money that some of the CT's would start saying that the captures were fake, too (like the claims of the governmentfaking the infamous Berg beheading ). There comes a point where people just stop listening to reason.

In my opinion, anybody who thinks (and I use the term loosely) that there was an American conspiracy behind the September 11th attacks is seriously overestimating the US government.

Is it at all possible to make music continue playing from one scene to the next? For example, if I have two 30-second scenes and 45 seconds of music, can I start the music clip in one and have it continue in the next, uninterrupted? If not, is there a way to get around this problem?

I'm designing my own preloader/intro screen. The background features a beach. I've got everything just about the way I want it, except for the ocean foam. When I draw it, it just looks like there's an ugly white space between the sand and the water. Does anyone have any decent techniques for drawing ocean foam? Note: it's not animated, it's just a still image.
