Right, so me and my friends- well I say friends, they're just people I pay off to laugh at my awful jokes. But yes, me and my paid accomplices play this game where we all write a line for a story onto each others story.
So, I figure we try it in a forum style, cause I'm really getting good at procrastinating.
Right, no longer than 2 lines! I'll start us off with an absolutely original opening.
Once upon a time, in a delightfully eerie village...

I live in a rough area where at the end of a pencil is a knife.

They'd think you're fucking nuts not buying an eraser, no one makes mistakes. NO ONE.

Nowadays there's no good horror games like the ones in the past. Shit i remember when i played resident evil when i was younger i was afraid of just opening the doors
Damn right, despite the 'epic' voice acting the resi games were a fucking masterpiece for horror. That cut-scene when the hunters were introduced and they run for the door... shit, a perfect time to wear adult nappies.

As such co-op ruins the idea of being alone, since you have someone else with you. When you are not alone you won't ever be as scared since you have that person beside you to help.
But something you should remember is that most "horror" games that have co-op aren't horror anyway. Resident Evil 5 and the like? Those aren't horror in any way shape or form. As such co-op doesn't ruin the horror as the horror never existed in the first place.
Very well said, thank goodness to Slender to bring some sanity/insanity back to the genre. Speaking of sanity, Eternal Darkness! AWWWWH what a brilliant game!

Aw yeah, it's good as an add-on but I don't find it brings the same level as fear as a solo experience. When you have the back-up you have a lot more room for error, and don't feel as frightened when stuff jumps on out at you, especially when they're shouting partner every two seconds..

I'll give you that, but I don't immerse myself in the horror of it all though.
I've been ranting about games a lot recently, so I'm sorry for that! But I'm raging at games recently!
So, does Co-Op enhance the horror experience or hinder it?
Personally, I feel co-op was the worst thing to happen to horror games, you can't create a sense of fear and helplessness when you've got a buddy next to you dry humping a dead monster.
Co Op should be an add-on, not building the whole game around it. GAH
Damn right, Call of Duty as far as online experience goes is good for the first few weeks, then everyone who 'plays to win' just sits a buggering corner for the whole match. Where is the fun in that!? I think app based games are actually a lot better than some retail games recently! Cause they're new ideas, not just sequels of old ideas. Although is normally about 10 knock offs for one successful game stuff like "Raging Hawks" or "Aggressive Gulls" which is probably real. More people need that mentality of making gamers enjoy the game, its simple.
Games should invigorate emotions, like music! The old resident evils scared the absolute crap out of me, to the point where I was scared to play it. But I still played it! The new one is just transformers effects with zombies and lackluster co-operative campaigns, with an atom size of horror.
Of course! I wouldn't expect any less!

Gah! That's a good way to start. Old games were absolutely amazing, every little thing about them, the characters, the music, the plot-lines yaddy yada. You could tell the passion/love for games the developers had just from the moment they picked up the controller; they made games for fun and all of them felt like complete masterpieces from start to finish, now it just seems all about the money.
When they first released Zelda, I remember how damn excited I was! And how close I came to dropping bricks in the shadow temple... I say close, but I couldn't stop the dropping of the bricks. All the music was so unique to the area and had such a charm about it, it was so damn creative! Now, everything seems so synthetic and everything is a f***ing sequel; don't get me wrong sequels are good but I can't think of the last original idea for a game in ages. Mario's done every job/sport under the sun, there's a first person shooter for every theoretical and historical war and every story has a Shymalan twist.
Gah! Maybe it's just me and I'm buying the wrong games, but I'm damn worried about the games industry goshdarn it!
https://soundcloud.com/chris-cockk/army-voice-ting There's my attempt at it! Added a little bit on the end of it, it felt somewhat natural, or something like that haha.
So, my wrists are being shit (RSI, GAYYY) and if anyone requires a voice actor for anything I'd be happy to do it. Need something to keep my busy while my wrists heal, that way I can go back to animating, making music, punching polar bears and splitting atoms. PM me if you require a silly voice! THANKS! xo
So, I need a voice (No shit, Sherlock) for a comedy cop drama. It's called Cheese and Onion and the two main characters are literally a cheese and onion. But everyone else is human, which is random and shit and blah. ANYWHO, this is where you come in. I need a voice to pull off the co-main protagonist Onion: he's a really cynical bloke and with a low british grimey voice (kinda like Ray Winston) with a cartoony element. I may require other voice actors for smaller roles, such as the lead minion to the evil bloke, and also a care worker. I won't fill in too much detail but if you're interested PM me please! Luv yewz xox
