It was starting up the audio with AS that did the trick, music's coming in on frame 315 where it's supposed to, without fail. Thanks again.
Cheers dude, very helpful. Your suggestions work a treat.
Sure, also I made a mistake in the first post, soundtrack is actually coming in earlier than it's supposed to when it's lined up in the Fla. This clip is already published on NG with the shitty workaround I came up with, but could still do with a fix for future reference.

File format is an MP3, yes. Was an MP3 when I got it, used Audacity to trim the length a bit and saved again as an MP3. Any problems with this type of file in CS5?

Thanks for the help!

Preloader doesn't make a difference. Still have to offset the audio by a few seconds before exporting.
Hey guys.
Just a quick query about an issue I encountered recently. While working with a project in flash, I have a piece of background music running on a layer under everything that synchs up with the animation, set to stream so I can keep track of it while working. It all matches up fine within the program, sure, but the problem is when I export the finished piece in an .swf, the audio track is coming in at least 4 or 5 seconds later than it's supposed to, throwing off the intended effect, despite being spot on to the frame in the .fla.
The only way I've been able to resolve this so far is by sorta guessing just how far out the audio is, and starting it up later in the timeline in the .fla, resulting in an almost-but-not-quite synchronization in the final .swf render.
Is there a reason for this that I'm missing? I know my way around the program well enough, but this sort of technical glitch is beyond me.
Great theme for a contest. Looking forward to browsing through the entries.
