Insomnium (My current favorite)
Kataklysm
In Flames
Arch Enemy (heard somewhere they are melo death)
Meshuggah

That's about all I know (at least, the ones I listen to most) so someone please recommend me others.

The Absence, Scar Symmetry, are my two favorite melodic death metal bands. Definitely check them out.

You do realize though, that Amon Amarth isn't gonna be like most of the other bands on that list, right? Most of the bands on that list are folk metal.

I've been saying that for awhile. Which album did you get by them?
None, i listen to their stuff online. Mostly to the album Mabool. I really like the elements from arabic music.

Yeah, that's the album I bought from them. It's pretty much the album that got me into folk metal, even though there are really no other folk metal bands like them. I haven't really heard any stuff from their other albums though. Are they any good?

I don't remember if I've mentioned Orphaned Land, or if I have I don''t remember peoples' reactions. They are really the only Oriental folk metal band I know of. And they kickass.

Probably not, but the beer thrower's goal was the proke Dickinson and he suceeded.

So because the thrower was trying to provoke Dickinson, because Dickinson actually did get mad that means he's a little bitch?

What's wrong with an acoustic break when it's motherfucking awesome?

Apparently motherfucking is a legit word, as this doesn't say it's spelled wrong.

I honestly feel opeth's new drummer is much more innovative and original than Lopez.

I disagree. I mean, I'm not a drummer, and I haven't heard Martin Axenrot drum on six separate albums, but Martin Lopez seems like a much better drummer. To me, on Watershed, it sounded like Axenrot used the same technique/fill (I don't know what it's called) in a lot of the songs. Not to say he's not a good drummer, but not as good as Lopez in my opnion.

Speaking of which, do you guys think there album Damnation was tremendously hated by people who listened to it expecting death metal?

I don't really know that many people who are into Opeth, and everyone I know who is liked Damnation.

I can sort of drum, I'm not amazing or anything but I can kind of keep a beat. I'm a lame drummer but I have a ear for good musicians, and drummers like Neil Peart, Buddy Rich, Dave Weckyl, and Dave Lombardo are way better than him

I don't know about other places, but here in Finland, the shit they sell at concerts is overpriced as hell. Hoodies are usually 60-80 euros, shirts are 30-40. I would understand if they were shirts exclusive to the concert, but often they are the same stuff the band sells online on their website.

Same here. When I saw Opeth, their shirts were like $40. I don't know how that compares to euros, but I think it's pretty close. Anyway, it's been that way for every concert I've been to.
