So lay it down instead of laying it up, its what i do.

Yehh i know i had to start doing that but were i have my xbox i have kinda made a cooling system with this air conditioner to keep it cool and it only fits if i stand it up.

Still you'd think that if bill fucking gates could own a company he could make the fucking disk drive a little better.

I have a question, why does everyone stress that you have to send your xbox WITHOUT the harddrive?

They wipe out the memory.

Sprites: Use google (most sprite movies suck)

Flash: Get a trial version and you'll beg your parents to buy it for you when the trials over.

Really though if you can program in whatever it is your using and you really like it well good for you. I would however suggest you get flash just because of all the benefits you have with flash.

Response to: How tricky do you think it would be Posted February 26th, 2008 in Game Development

from what people have told me AS:3 is easier to learn that AS:2.

Response to: drop shadow problem Posted February 26th, 2008 in Game Development

Well thanks for the help though, but everything is in it's own layer. I have each part in a folder to, to keep it organized.

Ahh I'll figure this out eventually.

Response to: Why so few AS3 users? Posted February 26th, 2008 in Game Development

1: only adding action script to frames
2: my computer doesn't have enough ram (or so it says)
3: I can't afford it now. XD

Response to: Mario Game Testing Posted February 26th, 2008 in Game Development

lol it's really kinda fun. Still needs some hittests or something (I dunno i'm not much of a programmer yet) and maybe for the running you could fix the left and right running loop problem.
Gotta love mario though.

Response to: Using flash to edit/ add effects to Posted February 26th, 2008 in Game Development

Yes you can but for video editing I would get final cut pro 6 and use flash to maybe make some buttons.

Response to: How Do You Learn Animation? Posted February 26th, 2008 in Game Development

The best way I would say is just practice drawing a lot with a tablet (if you have one) and while your at school use sticky notes to draw and animate. That's how I have learned.

Response to: I can't flash Posted February 26th, 2008 in Game Development

Whoa man flash isn't that bad. I can run it on my grandmas compaq from 1998 or.... however old it is. If you have to set your virtual memory higher, defrag your computer, compress the C drive, and delete some old shit from you computer in add/remove programs. If all else fails get an older version of flash like mx although you shouldn't have to. You probably won't be able to have CS3 though it requires a little more than even my computer can handle. Just give it a shot, get a free trial of flash 8 from like google or go to a books a million get a flash 8 book with a trial CD and go from their.

And if even that doesn't do well..... get liveswif

liveswif.com

Response to: drop shadow problem Posted February 26th, 2008 in Game Development

Ok i had the first part of the framed shadow at the bottom, then i moved over 10 frames and put a frame their and then just moved the shadows over to the right and tweend it but it goes around to the left and to the spot but it should go really slow to the right so it looks like a light is moving around it slow. instead i got that shit.

drop shadow problem Posted February 26th, 2008 in Game Development

I have a dropped shadow that spins the wrong way. It is supposed to go for the bottom to the top right going right instead it goes really fast to the left in a circle.
So in other words my shadow is going in the completely opposite direction.

If it helps here is what it looks like.

Response to: Free flash??? Posted February 21st, 2008 in Game Development

...... you could always download a free trial first....and when your time runs out delete all the files for it and do the 30 day trial again....but i'd just buy it. i worked for 4 weeks to get flash 8.

ahhh well I personally can't give you any real advice but a good friend of mine told me that if you look in the mirror when you say it, it should help you get a nice idea of what it would look like or should look like.... i would get like a recorder or something and video your own lips while you say it and import it into flash and kind of go by each frame....I would try it but I'm not much better at sync either.

Response to: Zombie Game/Action Script Posted December 4th, 2007 in Game Development

I don't know much about game coding i mostly just code for web site flashes but it i would think you would need something like an if x and y = whatever dir should = true or something like that....that just came out of the dark but that's kind of what i did when i had little eyes follow my cursor for the skull i'm doing for this web site. I would suggest flash kit or getting a nice action script bible. and if you have CS3 go to books a million they have this very nice action scripting for games in flash cs3.

well it has filters in it for a glow effect. It's a skull with red glowing eyes kinda the mascot for the site.
what i have is just the skull outline and it's not filled except for the eyes. and when i put in in dreamweaver it has a white background i just want the black outlines and the red eye to show up.

Response to: Disable background Posted December 4th, 2007 in Game Development

ahh well it's only about 10 frames long it's only a banner type for a web site I'm hoping my local skate shop will want to use instead of their sucky one.

How do you disable the background on an animated swf so just the drawing itself will show up?
