all new stuff...and Dmca if you check here rather than the other forum.
I will also say another reason why i have stumbled back onto this board.....I need voices.
WHAT?!!!
Yup, I am currently working on a big series thats inches away from being put into the greenlight.
Who is working on it:
Well, for all of you that know me, Im the main character and I do writing along with my friends.
Those of you that know Nutsy and Klutsy's Josh Halford, he is doing the character designs and backgrounds. Annnnd, those of you who are fans of Wonchop, he is doing the animating.
The series has potential to be a huge hit and I have extremly high expectations for it.
Now....what is it...
Ok, Picture a dick tracey type that can't even spell his own name. there, thats a decent outline hahah. Its about a detective that gets himself into trouble every episode because of his extremly low IQ. Like I said Picture a private Eye type that pretty much has no idea what hes doing.
Chase Fairbanks: Undercover Idiot
we have the first 4 episodes written and they are, i must say, very funny.
VOICES!!!
alrighty this is the part where some of YOU come in. We need voices. I can only go so far with additional characters, and we want the series to be as good as we can make it. We need female voices and a couple more males. Let me list the characters we are going to need voiced that arnt garenteed by me or any others....
Hillary Clinton - Hillary clinton
Chase's Mother - Old old women in her 90's
Security guards - The usual deep voiced stale faced security guard
Police Cheif Captain - a strong voice, needs to be intelligent
Andy - one of the 3 bad guys, hes a little wuss (not a dork) but a little wuss who trys to impress people.
Russ - One of the 3 bad guys. he is a mean spirited jerk.
AJ - The main bad guy, typical "i am the main bad guy voice", mean...throaty
there are many many more roles to come in the series....I guess I only need a couple of you. because I know there are some here that have multiple talents. So if you are interested in hoping onto this crazed wagon from hell. Reply to this.
CHHEEEEERRSSSS
by the way i dont care if there are typos...im not proofreading this haha
D-Mac: heeeeey, whats up dude. Thanks a bunch. and ....ya I technically havn't left the game. I just only work with the authors I have found to be stable and in good working order.
Like I did salty swamp cops in dec. and Nutsy and klutsy 3 is comin out soon and I have a big role in that.
I guess Its just like....I only have been working with the guys that I know make great stuff, that I have become buddies with.
But ya, its good to see this place is still kicking. has anyone like hobbes or ellair shown their mugs in the last few months?
I think I dropped my glasses in here like 4 months ago....lemme see......shit......
oh and by the way hi
where the hell have I been haha......oh ya...........
nice to see this place is still kicking
anyway.......ill be around
I will agree with frogs though..HE DOES get stuff done and its great stuff...but its hard to work with someone whos on a hour schedule.
just gonna throw my hat into the thing you guys were talking about that DungeonMastah guy....
dont work with him plain and simple....
One thing, he IMS you and wants you to do lines for him right on the spot.....like hell say "hey can you do lines for me"......ya sure........"ok here they are" and then like 15 min later he wants the lines. Doesnt give you any time to prepare or anything.
secondly he waits for you to make a mistake to tell you how to do something. I read like 8 lines for him and he then tells me to go do it all over again because I said a word wrong......he doesnt give any direction until you do something he doesnt like......
and thirdly.....ill do lines for him that he tells ME to do...and hell go use someone else......its like...buddy don't tell me to do lines if your not gonna use them.
I got into a big argument about it with him and hes blocked me on like 3 different SN's
again...I say don't work for Dungeon Studius...they are way to sparadic and rediculous.
someone wanna tell this con kid to shut up and not post 21 one liners on the last page and a half...I was just browsing through and saw him posting 1 line stuff every other post....he quadruple posted 1 lines in one instance.....it aint AIM jackass.
Oh i guess ill announce Me and Ell are doing the challenge together. We got something good going and lots of you that frequented the chats will like.

oh ya frogs....I listend to some tracks by your band, pretty kick ass.
heres my VA challenge.....theres a tribute to bart simpson in the end
"the latest and greatest in parental control technology"
ya people have opinions on things but lets see which business man with 2 kids says that the person their kid is watching on TV teaching them how to count is childish......no they dont stop to say that. and how is makign voices for characters childish?? not like were dancing outside during recess with our fingers in our ass...honestly
if you read what I said, I said dubbed...not originals Kagome
american dubbs......
ok well first of all your naming people....captain kurk, rennasiance and so on....anime is animation. Those arnt real people...clothing style has nothign to do with cosplaying...people dress like that at faires because thats the clothing people actually wore...anime characters never existed ever.
And no voice acting wouldnt be called childish by a business man because its a form of acting. Any profession wehere you can jump into the big figures isnt called "childish" by anyone.
star trek and star wars and stuff like that is true to an extent, but thats because of how popular they are......anime isnt popular. in fact id say half the people you meet HATE anime. Now yes, those people have Issues as well but we were talkign about animation.
well...AT tried to make his point in a very messed up vulger way so I will try to translate it.
Some people take what they like way too far. Cos-playing (in my opinion) is very creepy and very weird.
A girl that goes to my school runs one of (if not the biggest) Inuyasha fan websites in the world. She tells me most of the people who cos-play all the time are fuckin creeps. I may have to agree with that because grown men and women dressing up for a convention to pretend to be and look like anime characters is strange....There is Halloween, which is the one day we are all allowed to be creepy and weird...but other than that its way to far.
Now back to the point. ALL animation characters are not humanistic. Family guy....If you saw a real life peter griffon walking around, youd prolly freak. Same you would if you saw a bug eyed 13 year old anime girl.
It isnt JUST with anime, but most people who are obsessed with anime do tend to take things too far rather than people who are obsessed with american toons....when was the last family guy convention where people dressed up as stewie??? or a loony tunes convention??? (NOT AS FURRIES) see my point?
Anime "followers" just seem to be a little more crazy than others. now I understand online, especially online, there are lots of people who LOVE anime...but its a minority...Not many people watch anime. They are trying to make us like it by coming up with "americanized" Anime like teen titans and Puffy Ami Yumi.
And on a voice actign stand point....lots of anime is over exaggerated and annoyingly dubbed. Many anime acting thats dubbed is terrible, lets face it. So when people say they can do "anime voices"....does that mean they can voice act bad?
and that ladies and gentlemen...is what really grinds my gears
GrantM: you don't get praise because you don't post quality samples, and the stuff you have posted suck, plain and simple. Your voice just plain sucks. A sample or short isnt of you acting like a jackass talking into the mic sayign things like "I want to voice in FUNimation and oops sorry about that ding there" that makes you just look like an idiot.
People can wrap it up in as many gift packages as they want but your voice is just awful.
It would be one thing if you took advice and stopped posting all this bullshit, but no....
how bout be an accountant?
ANYYWAYY..
I attended my first chat in like 3 weeks and it was fun. Isca has a pretty big surprise coming her way hahaa....hobbes and I are going to get an earfull definitly
TESM: Yes but if you want to really DROP an accent, you have to take speech classes for proper speaking, not acting or storytelling classes. I know one thing down here in Boston, casting agencies shun the "boston accent" and tell people to take speech classes so it doesnt slip out during big auditions unless thats what the role calls for.
by the way Angal is a piece of absolute dog shit.
No he is not, just saying that not everyone makes it to the big leagues like the people listed... I also went on to film and video.
pull your head out of your ass.
Yes, I have quit the VAC, but out of late night boredom I stumbled on the board.....and I really need to say some things to "GrantM"
Ok...first of all, the reason people at the VAA started to not like you is because of how many times you mentioned that you WERE going to be a pro VA for AVA and Funimation......dude you cant just throw that around.
Most people that want to get into this business....dont even make it past the starting gate. There are millions of actors in the world and guess what, out of those millions....one becomes a Brad Pitt, or a Tom kenny, or a Rob Paulson. You cannot sit there and say you CANT WAIT TO BE A PRO VA......its not a game, it takes hard hard work. And by hard work I dont mean you stay up all night and make a demo...Im saying you go YEARS without ONE job. You can't just overnight become a pro VA.
Ill tell you soemthing, I have auditioned for around 10 feature films....iv'e been in one...as a bit part (lots of you know of what I speak of) thats over the course of 5 years. Aside from the independant films I have been in... that was my FIRST paying acting job, and it was 1000 american dollars. guess what, that doesnt pay the bills.
and i listend to your demos and you really need to start using your god given accent and stop forcing an american one. You sound very very very forced. Everything you say sounds like you are trying extremly hard to hide your accent. STOP HIDING IT. If you want to CHANGE your accent....you need to take speech classes (not acting classes), or just go with your normal voice.
It just gets me personally angry when people just SAY they are gonna be famous or they CANT WAIT to be a pro something when they havn't even left their living room. Now GrantM, don't take this personally, but that is all i have seen of you so far reading back a few pages.
GooGum, what exactly are you looking for...just someone to sing the song?
actually sing it like Kelly Clarkson style?
Or would you accept an audition that sounded like John Lithgow....if I audition you'll see...
By the way, Is this Thread about fighting haha, it seems every 4 pages or so there is some type of mud slinging. it actually makes me laugh...only a lil though

Just to let you know, this is a newgrounds member BBS club...This isn't a professional place to begin with.

(Fan of mine recently sent me the 7minExcelRant)
hahahah, that was actually kind of witty
well The whole point of this conversation is whats best for a VA...I said comedy and stated the reason why........which when you actually think about it and look at it....its true......there are no high paying VA jobs for dramas....only spongebob, powerpuff girls, tommy pickles, and dexters laboratory type work.
and frogs, i was saying there have been almost NO successful dramas that are cartoons (the VA's HUGEST line of work)
and you are better off doing character voices for spongebob type stuff because it brings in the money.....which is also true
....i was being sarcastic in that last post about the 4 million thing
drama would be more important in TV and Film acting...but for Voice overs....nope
What dramatic voice overs have you ever seen? I can think of 3 in my whole life.
95% of Voice over work is Commercial Narration, kids cartoons, and comedy's
seldomly you will see a cartoon that has a dramatic theme, they arnt built that way. I know there are some anime's that revolve around a dramatic engine....but thats about it. Most cartoons (belive it or not) are for kids. Nick, Disney, ABC, NBC, most of their cartoons are for kids. That is also where all the money is for Voice Acting. Sure you could do a dramtic anime series for like 8000 dollars....but you could also do a new nicktoons voice for 4 million.
If you want to go into dramatic acting...take to the stage or screen, because you will not get as many dramatic voice over roles in your professional career that you would probobly want.
TV_slayer I happen to think comedy is more important for a VA. Comedy requires not only acting, but timing as well. if you can't time something....the joke is going to fall flat.
A good script is nothing without the proper acting and timing. Most hollywood actors you talk to will say comedy is one of the hardest things they have to do.
Does anybody know why this is still called a club?
clubs usually are tight groups of people who like each other....this is more like an office job you don't want to be at---- "ohhhh great...I have to see HIM today"
thats why, from now on, this should be the NGVAE (Newgrounds Voice Acting Establishment)
or the NGVAETHBTOBTYO ---- Newgrounds Voice Acting Establishment That Has Been taken Over By Twelve year Olds
I mean that both literally and metaphorically
MC_Huggies: Thanks alot.
It got daily feature, front page, and has a nice high score.
I personally am very glad about all that because I wrote for that cartoon and voice acted almost everybody. If it diddnt do well, I would be partly to blame... so I am very humbled that it was well received.
I don't know when we are going to start with the next one, maybe soon, im not sure.
Jerma in a flash?? what? is that possible?
Yes its true...
Head to this link if you wanna watch, it's on the front page! D-Mac is also in it
Just letting everyone know, I am going to be at the chat tomroow.
Hobbes: What happend? he just completly canned it haha? ...he hasn't emailed me or anything about it, but ah well.
oh yeah...what the hell is -san.....like Oh jeremy-san.....gordon-san
is that like mr, or something in japanese?
