It was. Since you had to be the last vote on the submission for it to be a "blam" instead of just voting 0 or 1 and it gets blammed and you get a "blam point"

In a mere 50 days you could get a bunch since there was no limit on daily submissions back then either. Just submit 200 in a day and viola, 50 days later you get 200 blam points.

I got solid snake:

You remind people of Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid. You are a legend to most people because you make the impossible possible. You live your life like it is some kind of war movie, and this is okay because you love the movie Rambo! Also: You might have a nasty smoking habit. Kill this before it kills you

All true accept that I don't smoke.

You've got to give him the voice baconburgerclock used for him.

I'd probably vote 2, but most would just vote 0.

It'll probably get blammed. It has to be more than just him asking for anal sex and going "hahaha".

I've seen a guy outside a wal-mart actually fish in his own fishing tank, which was a semi trailer with glass full of water. I geuss it was some publicity stunt or something.

well, once they hit lvl.9 I sure know I was surprised when I hit that level.

I'm sure they find out well before they get to level 9. I alone don't think I'll ever get higher than 18 unless I put 10 or so years. It gets worse for newer users as time goes on. Given another 3 months before signing this account up and I could probably say the same of level 17.

Response to: HumanTarget52, Man or myth? Posted June 28th, 2004 in General

Plus it discourages the newer users.

Response to: HumanTarget52, Man or myth? Posted June 28th, 2004 in General

That's every other day, level 11 goes up by 1 everyday. Sometimes a day is skipped because that's not exact(otherwise level 29 would go up by 10 every day instead of 10, then 9, then 10)

OrangeClock is his alt. It was obvious back when all his reviews were up before they were deleted. Probably due to it being self-praising.

He mostly just uses his alt-account to chat with.

Response to: Flash Portal Bans! Posted June 27th, 2004 in NG News

You do have a point in that I've had a harder time protecting movies since this was implemented. I geuss the temptation to blam is a lot greater now that you can sort of ban people by doing it.

The movie is using Madness characters. That seems to be the main reason that it's been flagged, looking through the user comments.

However, it lasts about 30 seconds (after loading) and is over 4Mb - the author hasn't compressed the audio in the file at all.

Well as far as I know it's not stealing, it just uses madness's style. It is a big file size for a short flash though, but damn I like madness.

Here's an example of a good entry getting blammed:

I voted 5b and it raised the score to like 1.44, what the fuck/

Response to: Flash Portal Bans! Posted June 25th, 2004 in NG News

I still see some batting average based voting going on though, that's most of my concern. Something called, "funny flash" was passed earlier where it would have been blammed, but the author had a B+ average. They either check profiles or just got a better program that negates the improved security.

But what if they weren't blammed fairly, you know biased voting and other stuff?

At 6/25/04 07:32 PM, TimScheff wrote: I think the longer submission ban is a great idea... Even if the score is near passing when blammed it still means that the flash really wasn't a final product good enogu to sneak in. Flashers will actually have to worry about submitting decent flash for fear of the ban or will have two weeks to get it right. So many of the balmmed movies come from the same authors, it just makes sense to give them time to reflect of making real changes. This would also stop 30 day trial users from submitting every little piece of practice garbage that they create. The "look ma, I got flash" submissions are almost always bad and I think alot of what people percieve as free blams are actually this type of crap.

I just know I was sick of this obsession by people to whistle crappy movies rather than just blam them... I hated seeing movies I took the time to watch and blam, or even leave a critiquing review for just disappear into whistledom when it was more clear that an author was looking for feed back or testing the waters.

You make good points, however this doesn't address the issue of flash that is blammed unfairly and what I proposed would pretty much solves the issues that you listed. Movies that are blammed with near passing scores don't simply come from trial users submitting aura shaded stick movies. They come from potentially good authors who are maybe just starting out or haven't quite gotten it right yet. The problem with this is, if you got a portal ban for submitting 2 movies you really tried on that may have been blammed unfairly(biased voting, cronic 0 voting) you don't really deserve to be banned. Flooding the portal with aura shaded stick DBZ wannabe movies however is another story.
