I think if and when grounds platinum comes out we should have more powerful looking icons, basically the same but more powerful look(i.e. level 1 for platinum users can be an oozing poison lollypop)

I don't believe weekly awards factor in at all. They just get your submission some extra exposure for that week.

They may not, however it only makes too much sense for them to. If someone submits something the gets daily 1st, weekly users choice, and review crew pick then they should get more points towards it than someone who gets 2 daily 1st places.

Plenty of stuff really, though some pube muppit stuff is good. The reason it happens this way is batting average based voting.

Response to: Legendary Frog Posted August 10th, 2004 in General

They just like legendary frog because he makes stuff about final fantasy. I like final fantasy, but that ddoesn't mean I have to like anyone who animates flash about it no matter how much it sucks.

Response to: Unfair voting here on Newgrounds! Posted August 10th, 2004 in General

I don't think he's mad about stuff like pube muppet getting passed as he is confused as to why stuff better than it doesn't neccessarily.

Now I don't know why crap entries should pass here on NG, for it kills two birds with one stone (in this case it's a bad thing). It makes the website's reputation go WAY down and , more importantly, eats up a lot of NG's space, which could be used for better movies. Yes I don't like speed blammers either, for they are also the reason a few of my movies didn't make it. This problem can be fixed, but it will take many to band together and take a stand. This brings me to my last point on that if this happens, chances are that people can have an equal chance, not favoritism as BigBlueBalls stated above.

The problem with that arguement is:

1. Ask wade, blammed entries are not actually deleted, so you're not saving 1 bit of bandwidth by blamming anything. You're just discouraging people from spamming the portal with 1 frame animations.

2. Newgrounds is supposed to be a place where we can upload our works as long as there's SOME effort in them without needing our own website to do it. Or alternatively promotng websites by submmiting some of our works from it.

He who is without sin, if you talk shit about others*cough*piconjo*cough* yourself then you shouldn't say that.

Response to: king of the portal?!? Posted August 10th, 2004 in Where is / How to?

I greatly respect newgroundling, but the faq is flawed. Those point values may ore may not be true, but it doesn't cover weekly awards which are almost certainly a factor in it.

Response to: king of the portal?!? Posted August 10th, 2004 in Where is / How to?

I think it's the one who won the most portal awards in the previous month. They get no special privelages.

Actually sicksexfiend is the person as sickdeathfiend. Piconjo isn't a ripoff off pikanjo either, it comes from "pico" hence why he is animated with orange hair.

I just hope all the batting average based voters end up with a voting power of 1.00 so that they can't really hold down new authors anymore.

Response to: Unfair voting here on Newgrounds! Posted August 9th, 2004 in General

I don't so much mind crap getting protected as I mind good stuff getting blammed. I vote 2 very often on subpar flash only to see it getting blammed. Every see often I see something worthwhile getting blammed, check the author's profile, then see the only reason for it is because he is new and thus has a batting average of 0.00. That's seriously fucked up, carmelhadinosaur, jesuscyborg, and many other are responsible for this.

No I have a reason, I have plenty in fact. Bend just has serious mental defects and takes it out on many of us.

Or they may have voted 0 because you're a NEW author and thus your default batting average, though not shown in your profile is 0.00.

Response to: Unfair voting here on Newgrounds! Posted August 9th, 2004 in General

It has to do with fuckwits like carmelhadinosaur and jesuscyborg who vote based on batting average.

Your pal lightning got ahead of you in experience too, way ahead. I remember when you were both level 13.

Bend is an idiot who will steal anyone's account given the chance just for the thrill of it. If your retrograde password is the same as your NG one then by all means change your NG password immediatly.

Couldn't someone use an alt account to mark their reviews as not abusive then by getting a garbage whistle with it? Or is that covered?

Erm... excep tthat normal is more like 0.00 than 1.00. There are people at 1.10 with silver, for instance. I'm a silver with 1.58, soon to be over 1.60 once a ton of shit gets cleared out. We think that 2.00 is where silver becomes gold, and yes, 3.00 is deity.

Then what's garbage? I think normal has to be at least 0.10 or something right?

Unless you use AOL, or you are me, you get that validation e-mail in a matter of seconds. I didn't get it at the new account, the one I had just changed from, or the yahoo account that (miraculously) this account received a validation e-mail on in under a second. There's no question that my failure to get an e-mail was targetted and not some random glitch. Apparently, this petty bullshit is the payback for actually expecting them to bother to answer questions, and taking issue when they choose to deal with "more important matters" like telling someone off.

If anything they probably appreciated your honesty with them. They could probably personally send you a validation e-mail if you explain the situation and ask them nicely.
