Fireworks Collab Posted October 24th, 2008 in Game Development

I am the inspiration. I have an awe inspiring idea for two games. The first is a simple enough minigame but it will include a very cool way to spend your cash on upgrades- this system is what will hook people to the game. The best part is that the system of upgrades will be used in the second game, which will be absolutely epic in it's own right. Here's the catch. I'm the inspiration, but I have NO talent for programming or for art. So I need someone to take credit for making these games in their entirety. I plan on having a very small logo for myself, and leaving the rest to you, the real brawn behind this project. You have full range to do with my idea what you want, but if it is used for profit I would like a small share. I'm thinking 20% maybe? Anyway, PM me if you would like to help see this game come to light with your name on it. I guarantee this game is entirely different from anything else online today.

Response to: Newgrounds 2008 Mock Election Posted October 24th, 2008 in Politics

Obama.
I'm rather fearful of McCain kicking it and leaving Palin in charge of an entire country.
I'd vote Obama anyway, because I don't think McCain would be good anyway, but I certainly can't allow her to be in charge!

Response to: How do I get Collaborators for proj Posted October 24th, 2008 in Where is / How to?

Thank you very much for the advice, I didn't think anyone would want to, but it was worth a shot. I'll move this to the other forums and see what I get.
This can be locked at any time now.

I need an artist and a programmer for a game I would like to produce. I have a very original idea that should be fairly simple, but will include a small, complex program that will lay a large part of the foundation for a second game. This second game is the one that will blow everyone away, but I think the first one will be a very entertaining diversion. All I have to bring to the table is my massive ideas, and that Goukisan has agreed to do the music if I can pull it all together. I should point out one thing....

I DO NOT PLAN ON STEALING CREDIT FOR ANY OF THIS!!!!
I plan on having a very small screen with my logo on it, and stepping far, far out of the way to let you take all the glory for your hard work. I don't yet know if it needs to be in flash or some other program, but I'm sure once I explain the project someone will figure it out.
PM me if you're interested, and please tell me if there is a better place to put this topic.

Response to: Do you like Stick Figures? Posted October 22nd, 2008 in General

I would recommend watching a variety of the stick figure shows already on newgrounds, and deciding objectively if your work is as good as those already accepted. If you have an original concept, a particularly high graphic quality, or a new way of unfolding your film, then it has a shot at being kept. If your work is not up to par with what newgrounds has accepted in the past, or has nothing particularly unique about it, then it is not likely to stay for long. Submit it anyways, just because you never know what will happen, but don't expect great results. Remember, a good work of art is done because you want it to be done, not because you care what others think of it!

Response to: Inalienable Rights Posted October 22nd, 2008 in Politics

I agree completely. This is a very insightful vew of social consiousness. An individual only has what rights he can hold on his own until such rights are challenged by someone strong enough to take them from him. I have the right to live until I am too weak to overcome a challenge to my life. I have the right to happiness until circumstances dictate that I am not strong enough, smart enough, charismatic enough, to hold on to my happiness. I only have a right to be represented by a government if I am personally willing to and strong enough to force my oppinion to matter. I only have the right to post on this forum until I am too weak to defend a poorly worded statement that could get me banned. People believe it is their right to have rights. That is only true when they are strong enough or have enough people standing beside them to be strong enough to hold onto their rights. I wouldn't have expected to come across such wisdom from a forum. Thanks for posting this topic!

Response to: Are You Homophobic? Posted October 22nd, 2008 in Politics

I have known homosexuals before, and not gotten along with them personally. This has always been because of a difference in personality, and had nothing to do with their sexual preference. I don't feel comfortable being hit on by homosexuals, but then I don't particularly feel comfortable with overbearingly obvious women either. I do firmly believe that sexual preference is the right of the person involved and that the government should accept homosexual marriage as a right. I also believe that while a small segment of the population is gay by choice, most often the deciding factor is genetic or due to a deep rooted emotional problem stemming from too much or not enough love from family members. Just my oppinion.

Response to: Obama Is A Loose Cannon Posted October 22nd, 2008 in Politics

I'm going to assume you watch FOX with your parents. Try thinking for yourself, kid. Watch MSNBC's Countdown to November 4th with Kieth Olbermann. 3 current issues of that sense will have you realizing just how ignorant Fixed Noise really gets. I'm not saying that MSNBC isn't biased. I'm just postulating that if your going to listen to opinions from either side, you should at least check the side that includes FACTS. I won't even go into minimodding your language, but to say the least I find you, your vulgar terms, and your ingnorance of the facts that support or disprove your opinion to be apalling.

Response to: I-1000 Assisted Suicide Posted October 22nd, 2008 in Politics

I believe that assisted suicide is a dignified way to end suffering. I believe it should be available to anyone, not just the terminally ill, and I also believe that a brief but thourough psychological exam should be administered beforehand. I believe that the terminally ill should have a much shorter waiting period than those who are only choosing to die because of psychological problems, but nobody should be denied the choice to accept death. I think that humans born with mental defects that are rendered incapable of communicating their desires either for or against such a practice should be allowed representation by the family member who is closest to them, defined not by biology, but by the party with the closest bond. I also believe that a choice in the method of death should be available. Nothing extravigant like "death by pendulum" or the like, but a choice in the time of death, the sounds and images available, the chemicals used, and the how quickly the event occurs, should all be factors controlled by the individual. All assisted suicides, as should everyone else, should be given the option of donating their body to science, or their organs to medicine, or anything along those lines. If anyone wishes to dispute these statements or alter them in any way to make them more clear, I will be back later to read the rest of the posts.

Response to: Endorsing politics in school? Posted October 22nd, 2008 in Politics

I have no problem with politics in school. In fact, I encourage debate and reasoning! Often the only way kids get involved in politics is through teachers demanding that students watch important political debates for extra credit. I do, all that aside, believe that your school's staff is in the wrong. Not that I particularly mind them wearing a shirt every now and then, but you should recommend to the principle that posters of pro's and con's of each runner and running mate be put up near the doors. That way, kids could decide based on reasoning and deduction instead of simple brainwashing techniques.
