If you rat on this kid I will fucking ban you from this forum forever, no one likes a cock blocker, no one. I have the power to do that, it's in the rules, you should have read them.

I also fully recognize the double standard that if this was a story about how you saw guy teacher kissing a sophomore girl I'd be threatening to ban you for not already going to the police.

You can't spell "Respectable journalistic source for video game related news and reviews" without IGN. Not in that order, but all the letters are there. Some multiple times even.

Maybe that's what they actually felt about the games, and besides, they were probably two different reviews by two different people. Differences in opinions, preferences, and their differing personalities come into play. You should never just quote the scores, they're more often than not arbitrary and can often be influenced by publishers, read the content of the reviews, and always try to look between the lines. In my experience IGN is no better or worse than any other VG-centric review outlet.

I agree about the redesign though, they should have left an option to revert back to the old layout. Every page is swarming with annoying images, useless, space-consuming polls, and link upon links that go everywhere but the page you want them to.

It's probably like most scientific quandaries where two schools of thought each strictly go off into opposite directions. The truth generally becomes accepted as involving a little bit of column A and a little bit of column B. That's generally the modern understanding of human nature, genetics and upbringing both have important role in shaping all our behaviors. There's still no way to ever create a formula for it though. Some people will be affected more by their genetics, sometimes a person's environment is key, and most of the time that line blurs between varying issues in an individual person.

Yeah they're annoying, but can you really blame them. I'm more frustrated at the other enemies who give into Kirby's unholy appetite so apathetically. It seems only natural to fly into a rage when one's faced with impending consumption.

The exploding part not so much.

Well, World Tour has Wings so it's obvious that Paul McCartney is cool with having his songs in Guitar Hero and somehow I doubt that Ringo is fighting it. Of course, I think that Micheal Jackson and Sony still have joint ownership of most of the Beatles catalog so the ball's in their court. I'm sure they want a fortune, but at this point both MTV and Activision would probably kill their first born sons to have that bullet point on their box and in their advertisements so I'm apt to believe the rumors that there's a GH: Beatles in the works for the distant future.

I don't what the fuck Green Day's problem is, they're up there in the top ten most popular bands of the nineties and they've done none too shabby in the last decade either so you know that both games have to have been pursuing them. There better be something big in store. I'd happily buy a Dookie full album DLC.

You've already posted this multiple times, at this point it's redundant to make a thread for it, which is beside the point that threads like this always turn into flame wars. It's good that you're adamant about this, but it's probably time to move on to another topic.

I locked it because "I want to buy the game, is it good?" shows that you're just making a thread for the sake of make in a thread. There are already threads about the game if you're not going to do anything to start a discussion and there are plenty of reviews if you just want a few quick impressions. If you'd like to start a another Homecoming thread with some substance sans the self-righteous whining I'd be fine with that.

I tried to keep in mind that more accessible songs are just as important for variety as the hard rock ones, but I couldn't help going heavier and a little obscure, part of the fun of these games for me is having the occasional song I've never heard of that totally blows me away. Plus, it's hard as fuck not to load up the final tiers with metal, even most of the classic rock was considered metal at one point.

Also needs moar Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing.

I agree, the master either has to be hidden in someone's grandmother's basement or it's in licensing hell because there's no reason for that song not to be in either Guitar Hero or Rock Band

Just picked out my favourites amongst that list. I think that you should swap Wonderboy for Tribute, as it's just freaking awesome.

Just a personal preference, Tribute rocks harder, but Wonderboy's a song for the vocals. The comedy aspect of Tenacious D sometimes undermines Jack Blacks immense talent as a singer and I wanted a song to focus on that.

Also, where's the Iron Maiden?! Give us something like a) Can I play with Madness or b) Fear of the Dark (preferably)

I was going to hold off on more Maiden because apparently their songs are unusable now because all instruments are used and the master have bass and drums on the same track. Still this is just a wishlist and stranger things have happened (the doors don't even have a bassist). It's hard to pick from all of the songs they have, and I do like going with songs that show off a slightly different side of a band than what we've seen in previous GH games, but personally I'd go with Aces High.

Don't stop Believin' by Journey

Great vocals and a great song, but I don't think it's a Guitar Hero song, A whole minute goes by before the guitar even show up

Epic, by Faith no more.

Awesome song, but I'm trying to avoid songs that have already been done for a full band game.

We Rock, by Dio

Wait, I thought you said easy songs, that's final tier material for drums, bass, and vocal and once the guitar picks up it's up their too. Fantastic choice though, I have Mob Rules, but the list could always use more vitamin Dio.

I think you should also throw this one in here - Word Up - Gun

I was considering throwing in Korn's version as a goofy singalong, but they beat Korn to it and they did a better job.

I was bored and started throwing together a wishlist of songs I'd kill to have in Guitar Hero. The list quickly became big so I decided to fabricate a full blown setlist. Too bad that this list is too good to ever be a reality. I would cum buckets if even half these songs were announced for the next iteration of Guitar Hero, and not in a metaphorical sense, buckets would actually come out of my penis.

Check out GameTZ. It's basically eBay for video games, consoles, and accessories. I've scoped it out in case I ever want to use, but I haven't looked too deep, it so I'm not entirely sure what people will shell out for most games. It's probably worth a look though.

I did a GH2 marathon today myself. A lot of people say that the playing GH3 exclusively for an extended period of time destroys their ability to do well in GH2, but I've gotten a lot better. I'm able to pick out patterns of notes that seemed like a meaningless avalanche of gems and play them rather than flail through them. I don't know if it's the playing of GH3 specifically that helped me improve in that regard or just the practice in general, but it definitely hasn't ruined my timing. It's not like I suddenly start playing off of the notes when I play GH3. I still aim for perfect timing, the increased window just allows me to fall a little behind when I meet a pattern that's too fast for me.

What's the big deal? Most people are just casual gamers. Maybe they're not casual in the amount of time they spend playing games, but they're definitely not spending their time reading up on games, looking into different genres, arguing about why Halo is overrated on message boards, and finding alternatives to the AAA titles. Some people are just happy playing the games that everyone else is playing. If they're genuinely satisfied doing that than what's the big deal? Better that than the being jaded gamer who constantly laments how he's one of the enlightened few who knows about the truly great games instead of just enjoying them.

What's the big deal? Did he ever do anything to hurt the video game industry. I recall him trying to ban every Rockstar game the second they were announced, but I don't think anyone ever took him seriously. If anything we're going to have less of his antics to laugh at. He was a hilarity machine sent down from heaven to amuse us and now he's gone.

I hope you ass-fucks are happy.

Doesn't really matter how good you are at the game as long as you enjoy it, everyone's good at different things. I may have jump into expert two weeks after I got Guitar Hero, but put me in front of Halo and I fumble with the controls like I've never held the controller. I'll try to aim at someone and in my nervous excitement I'll mash my fingers into the l-stick, acidentally go into zoom, and wind up turned completely around and with a clip full of bullets in my spine. I love every minute of it though despite the fact that I'm not going to be winning any tournaments anytime soon, being good is far from everything.

Go for Brave New World, I was always the kind of person who would always just go online to find a synopsis of whatever shitty book I was forced to read in high school, but that was one of the books I actually read front to back. Plus, dystopian views of the future always serve as great subjects for book reports.
