I doesn't matter because it's still Yoshi. The way you do it is grab the bat, go up to the sandbag, and do a LITTLE jump, and at the same time use flutterkick. You'll get the hang of it, and 1000 ft for Yoshi is pretty low, my record is 2'245 ft.

Your blurring it in MX 2004? What are you separating ever colour and using soften fill edges on each one or what? Go get flash 8.

Also an alternative to slowing down flash (mostly just for backgrounds and single images) is to export the picture, import to photoshop, add blur, and send back to flash as a bitmap, which will run much smoother for you. That is if you have photoshop of course.

Response to: Optimization and File Size Tutorial Posted October 7th, 2006 in Game Development

Sweet tutorial. I think you should have encluded a section about vector optimization though (Modify ---> Shape ---> Optimize). I picked that up from Adam Phillips and it's proved very handy for me indeed.

Response to: how do u make camera angles? Posted October 1st, 2006 in Game Development

Well, to make it zoom in, make an abject a symbol by selecting it and pressing f8. Have it on a layer in a keyframe, go about 3o or whatever frames down the timeline and press f6 to make a new keyframe, and use the scale thing to make it bigger, then go to the basic frames between the two points on the timeline, right click and say "create motion tween" and there you have it. But whats with the have the camera look at it in different angles thing? This is 2d, you just have to draw the object again at a different angle.

If you are using a 3d program.. my bad.

We should just extend the capacity of the portal to 75 or 100.

Response to: Flash runs like crap Posted October 1st, 2006 in Game Development

I'm not all that knowledgable on computers, but it may be that your directory is messed. You could try defragmenting it, and it lines up similar programs together, so your computer doesnt have to search through the entire computer every time you do something.

Well at least I think it's that. Also consider how much of your harddrive is being used up.

Sorry for DP.

Something just came up, so I can't make a part :(

Response to: The Bunny Suicide Collab (soad) Posted September 30th, 2006 in Game Development

I'll have a short part. I need something to do till I get my new computer.

Just like... send me a part or something, but it can't be winzipped or anything, must be just an mp3 file.

:)

Response to: This is so frustrating! Posted September 28th, 2006 in Game Development

If your talking about animation and not crazy actionscropt, I can help.

Ok, draw a bunch of scribbles on a layer, now make a new layer, which will be above it, and draw a circle that covers SOME (NOT ALL) of the scribbles. Then right click the top layer's name tab, and select mask.

Did that work? If not............. cya, sleep time:)

Response to: by the way collab Posted September 21st, 2006 in Game Development

Hey I'm just wondering if this collab is really close do done? If it is, it's fine, but if not I'd like to join. I just have to busy myself until I get my new comp.

If you're wondering I'm good.

Response to: 3d ball in flash Posted September 20th, 2006 in Game Development

I may have found a solution.

Okay, instead of it being just a ball, make it a ball, but with a little radial gradiant of shite for shine. Put the shine near the edge of the ball, and have it's point of rotation in the center of the ball, and somehow make a code that makes the shine always point at a certain source of light.

It may be hard to code, and it may screw up every code related to the ball, but thats all I've got.

Exactly! Great sample.

Thanks^^

Although just keep in mind that my sample was just a motion tween of a rotation, with no shape tweening involved. Just in case you thought it was shape tweened:P

Response to: 3d ball in flash Posted September 19th, 2006 in Game Development

Well, a circle is always going to be a circle, so:

Take your circle (with the centre of the gradiant somewhat near the edge)

Determine the main source of light

While tweening it, rotate your circle accordingly to the source of light, like so:

Like that, but good, I made this is about 2 minutes:)

click the symbol, press that square shape change button, and move the white sircle that should be in the middle of the symbol to where you want the pivot point to be.

Well I assume you could just use them. It's not like it's the first time someone has done something with something of Tom's. Think that Pico's school remake that came out on Pico Day, hell think Pico day, and Pico animations. Pico is Tom's creation.

You may have to ask him if you want to make money off it, but I'm not sure. If you don't get the answer here, you can PM Tom, it may take a while, but he responds to all PM's. Even mine XD
