Thanks Dave!
Very helpful, things are working smoothly for the most part now. Only thing left now is to fix the bug with cubase where the visual graphics of the second, third, fourth (and so on) instance of the EWQL sounds do not respond to mouse clicks, but the audio still works. I think this is a cubase 5 thing, because I have all the updates installed for EWQLSO pro XP, but the bug is still persisting. I think a tech support phone call is in order...
Ciao!
yeah, im having the same problems. Let me know if you find a solution!

Thanks, I forgot about the "ideas" forum. I'll be sure to post in the right spot next time. But quick point...you posted a link to the "top 50 currently rated"...my idea specified "top 50 most listened to". I'm well aware of the former, but no need to split hairs in the wrong forum. I'll take a visit to the other topic. Thanks for your help.
This sort of goes without saying, but I've noticed a trend lately in the audio leaderboards, particularly in the Classical music section. There is so much great music here at NG, and and most of this music gets burried down around 4.19 - 4.20 rating, rarely to be heard by anyone. With a constant stream of new music from NG users, it's very difficult for even some of the best works out there to get any recognition as "0-bombers" bounce virtually every credible piece of music down to the general mix of hundreds of thousands of techno beats (nothing against techno, but there's just so much of it!). I personally think this is very depressing. Is there any way to sidestep this issue? I have a few ideas, including separate leaderboards for "top 50 rating" and "top 50 most listened to" for each category of music, or perhaps another list for "recently submitted music" for each individual genre. I really wanted to hear some of your ideas...I'm not a NG moderator or anything, but hopefully your voice will be heard.

This is my most epic orchestral piece by far.
Q: What do you get when you drop a piano down a mine shaft?
A: A-flat minor
It seems like you're looking for some very specific music here. I'll show you some of my samples, but if you have very specific demands for the type of music you want, I would reccommend commissioning a composer to write something intended specifically for the game.
Here is what I have to offer (keep in mind, this music is not free to use. Please contact me if you're interested in using my music):

I'd like to submit an orchestral piece I wrote very recently:
The piece was inspired by an experience I had one night out in the rain by the ocean. You could see lightning striking over the ocean and thunder would soon follow and shake your feet. The waves that night were so powerful, and the moment was so...epic and climactic. I can't find any meaningful words for it, so I wrote music to express the night. I hope you enjoy!
Regardless of who wins this contest, I think the most important aspect is the feedback we gain, so with that in mind I'd love to get some advice!
I just finished up a local project and am now available to write for your game if you'd like.
You're welcome to check out my music here on this site, but I'll also post my website so you have more background information:

I tend to write in the "epic orchestral" genre using high quality sounds, but I can be versatile when it comes to writing for specific projects (for example; I just wrote a vocal piece which turned out great, and I never write for voice).
I check back on Newgrounds daily, so send a PM and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Best wishes!
Hello,
I'm new to these forums, so I thought I'd start off by introducing myself and posting one of my latest compositions. My name is Jeff Heim, and I'm studying composition at the University of New Hampshire and play trombone and piano on the side. I've been writing for about 6 years now, and absolutely love it. My music tends to fall in the "epic orchestral" category and I've recently acquired some realistic sounds to accompany the scores I write using Finale 2008. Here is a link to my most recent composition:

I hope you enjoy it, and I'd love to get some feedback. Thank you!
Oh, right! Thank you I just saw the other post you made. Sorry, I've been relatively busy with school and haven't gotten around to reading the rules, yet. Thank you for your help. I'll try to be more careful :)
Hi everyone,
I've been writing orchestral music for some time now and have gotten quite good and efficient at it. I'm looking for a videogame or movie project to write music for, so if any producers out there are interested, please contact me at basbalfan55@msn.com
Here's my website with some samples of my music:
