It is tough, ain't it? Everyone to an extent has some ability to do something moral (help someone out, etc.), and therefore, they have the responsibility to do so. It's ludicrous to think about sacrificing all your time and energy to making others happy just because you have the potential though. In your mind, you make the decision to not do something moral because somehow it's a burden to do, and I wouldn't expect everyone to put themselves before someone else; after all, the effort might be well not worth it for someone who doesn't deserve the help. So, coming from an atheist and disregarding the "sin" aspect of it, it's not really immoral to not give your 100% because ... well, then you'd be miserable as all hell for the sake of other, probably less miserable, people. Morally, we shouldn't always expect to be helped by others either, and we should respect the fact that people may have to go out of their way to help you. It's all about balancing, I suppose.

Yeah, I've read the book, and at the end he does kill himself and not just Tyler. And sarcasticly, Chuck writes about the narrator's life in Heaven afterwards. Frankly, I liked the movie much better, but that's probably because I already saw the movie first and knew everything. The twist ending was something that came completely unexpected to me, so I thought it was great, but in the book it's not revealed in that same manner ... not as sudden -- less of an impact. So, like Mr. Muffin, I liked the movie ending much better ... the Pixies song with them holding hands ... so beautiful. :'(

One of the greatest movies ever, and though I didn't like the book much, I'm working on reading Choke, which is also a movie now! And then I'll go on to some more Palahniuk.

I've accidentally downloaded that before, and looked for a thousand and one ways to try to rid myself of it, but the only thing that worked was a good old system restore; it might seem rather drastic, but it got rid of it at least!

I was really baffled by that MSN virus when I had it, as I've gotten rid of much worse things manually, and that one I just couldn't get.

In my analysis of the "jock" stereotype, they are anything but smart and kind, and athleticism, in my opinion, can be seen as a very negative trait as well. I actually I agree with you on that! I rarely post in any topic that has exceeded anything over ten posts or so. Once the thread has already been discussed, even if for a small time, the posts only become superflous and worthless, and less taken notice to as well. I'd like to know the point of it as much as you!

First off, I will say that I do not believe in ghosts or any other irrational beliefs in anything that we have no strong evidence for. Secondly, if you were to research the possibilites of supernatural beings, such as "ghosts", the TV is the very last place I would go; they're more concerned about ratings than they are presenting you with any type of actual truth. I think you'd have to be really damn gullible to fall for those shows and other spiritual hoaxes.

I've thought about that question myself for a while now... I can only think of two distinct situations where I was overcome by happiness to the point that I'd call it the best of my life, both are rather odd, and seemed to be something created in my mind as a reaction to something that would normally be seen as a casual situation. First, was watching an episode of the anime FLCL, throughout the whole thing, I felt this extremely surreal presence, it was fantastic, and I have no clue why... it was simply euphoria. Another time was watching the movie "But I'm A Cheerleader" which caused a similar bout of just pure happiness, for no reason that I could point out. It may seem rather pathetic that my happiest moments were caused by watching television, but not even I can explain to you why I had that feeling towards them, but it certainly was great. Can anyone relate?!

Well, judging by how things were before the old chat room left us, I doubt much will change in terms of forum activity. Personally, though, I can't wait for the new chat room! I don't come to the forums all too often, and I would love to be able chat with users instantly, rather than the occasional post. I agree with you on this one, as personally, I vote simply based off of how much I enjoyed watching or playing the submission, regardless of the quality of the visuals and animation. You could argue that someone putting more effort into their work "deserves" a higher score, but like vannila-geurilla said, it'll just lead to more shit! Let me put it this way: the video "Brawl Taunts" is a pretty damn funny flash movie, though it doesn't exactly boast the highest quality drawing and animation (I wouldn't call it bad though), if we compare that to the work of a Flash like "Valhalla Knights", undoubtedly "Valhalla Knights" is of higher quality in terms of the animation and visuals; however, despite the excellent work put into "Valhalla Knights", I honestly enjoyed "Brawl Taunts" more, so it would recieve a higher vote from me. It's all personal choice on how you want to vote on movies though.

There's only one cliche that really always irks me whenever I see it; when it'll show some guy walking towards the camera (usually in slow-mo) looking all cool, and some huge explosion goes on behind him, and because he's just so badass, he doesn't turn around, he just keeps walking forward. Not only is it overdone and lame to begin with, but in reality, I think I'd be fucking running as fast as I damn could away from an explosion and probably look behind me to watch it if I was at a safe distance, because explosions amuse me... but then again I'm a complete pussy, unlike the guys in the movies. I still hate those scenes...
