3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsYou're a terrible person. lol. I don't understand why you'd bot it anyways... Maybe for bragging rights, but what good does it do to you to lvl up, if you can't even play the game...?
Wow, never heard of this, but seriously, if you could get this going, you'd have my support. It would be a great way to spark interest in more people making quality flash, as opposed to, as was previously stated, "Sonic Fan fiction"... *shudder*
I know for sure that I as an amateur, and I do mean amateur, flash designer, would love to see different techniques that different programmers/artists would use. Not only that, but maybe after all is said and done, there's another award posted by NG, like "Competition 1st Place, 2nd", etc. in supplement to top weekly, daily, monthly, etc.
I think it's a great Idea, and if Mod Renaenae is willing to help, more power to you, this could be freaking big!

I'm gonna have to say no to that idea, because then what he wants is the whole collision detection that comes along with a destroyed landscape, not just to hide it. Dude, What you might try though is some created child cut-out method, if you understand. Place the bullet, explosion, etc. at the point to be destroyed, the do some coding, (sorry can't help there) and cut out the section from the BG_MC. The boundaries and collision detection should follow with it. PM me if you don't quite get what I mean.

Just remembered! If you take the masking of one object as a white square for instance, and fade the mask out, instead of the layer, you can get the effect you want. I have the idea, it's just hard to explain, if you don't understand, pm me, it's a direct line to my insanity. lol. Trust me though, I have a method to my madness, or so they say.

I think what you're asking is probably not what you're doing. See, when you make something fade, it becomes see-through, I'm sure you know that. The unfortunate truth is that, as far as I see, you can only fade one at a time to get your effect. Fade the one in the back, then the one in the front. If you play with layers, you might get the effect you desire, and like previously stated, with masking maybe.

I hate the series of Sonic the Hedgehog, (Eggman pisses me right off, but Amy tops it for me)
I think the video game of Dragon Ball Z is pretty decent.
Final Fantasy X's main character Tidus is pronounced T-eye-dus, not Tee-dus, and I think he's a sissy.
Auron from FFX kicks you know what, and rocks the whole no-armpit hair thing.
Kirby should be able to have the ability to inhale Ghandi, and bring peace to the world.
Fps Kirby would rock my world, not gonna lie.
Super Mario Rpg is killer, it's not a sin, it's a statement!

You make the mistake of rendering a movie with no target only once. Hours rendering... wasted...
No problem rendering, more like trying to make sure that all the surfaces are correct, and functioning, etc. The kirby I posted above is 3ds, along with the other work in my NG profile. The only problem with kirb. is that his cheeks seem to disappear randomly every time I open that file...
And yes, I have done four hour renders, chess set (See my profile) is one example, and found out that I clicked off it w/o saving. I thought, "Oh, no prob, just saved to file!" but NO! So naturally, I did what any sensible person would do; render again... lol
Here my man, Check this stuff out, just simple plug 'n' play from your friendly neighbourhood newgrounds. NG loads Look for Flash 6+ if in as3, and less than that for as2. My fav. is Mr.Turret. lol, as3 for that.

Touché! It *is* free for thirty days, it's satisfying to know you've done your animation yourself, and you won't have to have someone else's name tagged to it, and your name as a "credit" for the idea.
Plus, then you'll understand flash a little better!
It's true how anime drawings can be really cheap looking, if you look at generally any anime, they'll use maybe a couple of times, (when they're freaking out) a very basic looking drawing, like for example; Whan someone is extremely happy, their arms will kind of be rounded off, and their eyes will be curved upwards. If you look at anime closely, it's kinda blocky and jumpy, mainly because it takes a crapload of time to animate every darn frame.
You could always, just like previously stated, peruse the whole NG preloads section. It's even stated in there that you can modify it, and a little about how to do it. Also, it would be nice to know which AS version you're doing your movie in...

You're something else. lol! Not the first thing that came to mind when I thought of flash animation.
Anyhow, I completely understand the whole "Lack of motivation" thing. I have like thirty flash files, all started, never finished. Either because the nostalgia of the idea has worn off, or some coding started to get confusing, and pissed me off. That's the main gist of it.
Sure, I've tried to go back to some of them, but the love is gone...
Guess it's time to start reading one of those "self-help" books...
Pretty sure that not having trouble with 3ds Max at first is like discovering a black hole in your living room. It's not gonna happen. lol
Hey guys, checkit, this one's about kirby, 3 DIMENSIONAL!!! I know, right, blew your minds! His eyes seem wrong though, this might be my older version, but the newer one got wiped. In the newer one, the bottom of his eyes are blue...
