This, I believe is very similar to Australia's "small breast" law. It truly makes no sense, it's too vague and it won't give the results that others intend.

i was checkin' around for ppl like me, and i discovered your lil' site. You give me the impression that you're a quite fascinating hombre, but I'm somewhat inexperienced at how things work here, & don't really know what to do on here. Shouldn't they have a chatting program here?? i hate writing 2 ppl, and potentially never getting anything back. Well, if you are interested in chattin' with me, you could check me over -snip- , my name over there is sugarseahorse.

So, ya, hope to see you there. always looking to meet more ppl.

Searching newgrounds Posted March 29th, 2010 in Where is / How to?

Just a wonder, is there a way to search titles of flash by their rating?

Like say I only want to play games that are E for everyone, or I can't find my favorite game in the Teen section. Is there a way other than the limited search button to find it?

Manga is found on almost every street corner in Tokyo, is as ubiquitous as ramen shops and represents 22 percent of all the printed material generated in Japan. The readership comes from all walks of life, and while the books sell for $2 to $4 a pop, they represent a $6 billion industry.
6 billion dollars is not a lot of money in a country with a GDP of 4,348 billion dollars. Hawaii is a small enough state, but I find it hard to believe that the manga industry will change that state's economic fortunes all that much.
It depends. If Hawaii becomes a desirable location for comic book artists to work (I don't think it would be hard to convince a person that moving to the tropics to work is a good idea), then it would be a pretty big influx to the economy. Artists need to keep themselves alive, not just work.

That's missing the problem of a place like Hawaii. There's NOTHING on the island other than tourism. The locals have to band together to get a 4 story house that has 10 people in it. Manga wouldn't be a drop in the bucket there. Seriously, any artist would be starving in less than 3 months without the proper structure. Take into consideration that a lot of people trained in HI usually move because they don't make enough for the necessary goods (roughly $60,000 is minimum wage there) and a comfortable living.

So I don't think manga would help. At least not for the current generation.

I have a new question.

With some of the new submissions there seems to be a lot of users that want to tell the artist to submit to Youtube for whatever reason.

Are these alright to flag as abusive? My reasoning for flagging a review such as this is:

1) It doesn't help the author at all
2) Regardless of if something SHOULD be on Youtube or not, I don't think it's the reviewer's job but how we vote.
3) How does a review that basically says "You need to put this here" supposedly effective?

Hello there! I'm the Barracks Recruitment Officer, Supreme Commander Slash Firestorm. While I'm glad to see your interest in the Elite Guard Barracks, I must regretfully inform you that you do not meet the admissions requirements.

To be considered for the Elite Guard Barracks, you must be of Private rank or higher (2500+ B/P), and have an advanced whistle (Bronze or higher).

Anyone over the rank of Security Guard (400+ B/P) can apply to the Newgrounds Police Headquarters, where they can work on their B/P'ing, whistling, and other skills until they reach Private.

Just a quick FAQ question that others may be able to help with, sirs. I was wondering if anyone has noticed that whistling abusive reviews seems to have stopped since the Art Portal was in place. Anyone happen to have a guess as to why?
People are still whistling them, and as far as I know, review mods are still cleaning up the abuse they find. I'm not quite sure what you're referring to?

Thank you sir. Mainly I was noticing that it seems no one is getting blam points for whistling abusive reviews. I thought I might talk to the higher ups before finding a place of my own. It seems people are really only getting points (right now at least) only for abusive flashes such as the dreaded DD. Just thought I might bring it to everyone attention.

Thank you for the direction, I'll check out the other places. *salutes, marches off*

Best thing is going to be a plot about revenge. Short and sweet. Having the final boss be just an evil arse that decides to kidnap the guys gf has been around for generations. I'll still play Double Dragon to this day because you don't have to think about it.

Otherwise, a love triangle will take too long for a short RPG. You won't need combos (hard to program and mostly don't get used) but go with at least one puzzle to break up monotony.

Otherwise, I'm not strong on action RPGs and actionscripts unfortunately.

Response to: Adventure RPG Posted June 20th, 2009 in Game Development

How are we supposed to interpret what you're looking for? I mean seriously there's about 1 million things you can do. This won't be a game high on story, the gameplay has to ring through. With that in mind you gotta see how big or how small you want this ONE dungeon to be. And if it's going to be part of a series, why not use the first as a test of the engine and everything else? Other than that, I really can't give advice except to say make sure it's consistent. No fire bats in an ice dungeon and you'll be okay.

China has a shortage of women. You kidnap women to be sold as slaves on farms and they make up a good portion of housewives.

On the American side, they now have a bit of leverage at negotiating with the US since they still have those journalists locked up for 10 years for nothing more than being there.

Hate to say it but he has a point. Any story worth a damn is going to have to be worked at. Whether you want a psychopathic horror story or a campy zombie horror, they all have a different feel to them. It doesn't really need to be unique at first. But just writing a few lines a day, as well as getting into the habit of notes on characters and their interactions will really make you a better writer.

Asking others here who may be worse than you are in the genre won't make you better.

Response to: GM files for Chap 11 Bankrupcy Posted June 7th, 2009 in Politics

I'm fairly more business oriented than others. But there's quite a few reasons that most American brands, though they have good sales, are losing money.

They have to pay for factories to shut down in the US, they pay because of unions, they pay out the ass on everything. Inevitably, when the UAW wouldn't make the deep concessions that appeased Repubs and with Wagoner not believing in bankruptcy, (but Dems are in control, remember?) it was a fair amount of time before something like this would happen.

I don't know how they'll compete with Toyota who has less problems and better structure.

GM is going to be GUTTED soon. The board is going to be going as well as the CEO. It's going to be a weak kitten with no direction. The next two years will be fairly interesting.

Well that and use the old Russian technique of giving a gun to the front leader and bullets to everyone in the back. Front guy dies, pick up his weapon. Save at least 10% on insurance.

The country's gonna be more screwed than before. I can see the hole getting deeper, I just can't see it getting better for them without interference.

What I think is happening though, is people forget the government forced Wagner to step down AND for GM to file for bankruptcy. They can renegotiate the contracts but it's going to be at least two years before they are profitable.

Firstly, an economy is a sum of all of its parts. It's ever growing and ever changing. We can't stop everything negative and we don't make decisions on everything.

Second, no matter who's in charge, there's always going to be a problem that neither Democrats nor Republicans can solve. That's getting people to spend or save wisely. All that said, no, our economy is doing rather well. They printed all that money and circulated it to stop inflation which is what Bernanke doesn't want to happen.

Third, will all of this money in circulation affect prices? Highly speculative and highly doubtful. We mainly will have to wait and see how it pans out.

Amen... Seriously, it must be the jealousy ratio or something. Never had a problem when I was overseas with people knowing I was American. Only when you have the younger kids online saying America is the worst place when it gives far better incentives than the rest of the world. Though Cuba does have a few parts of communism, that more or less has to do with the fact that Castro was a shrewd businessman.

Actually, Cuba was capitalistic before. They wanted communism because of the simple fact that the capitalists turned greedy gutting the island for all it was worth. Castro indeed did much more to improve Cuba through socialism than through anything else. Hell, their doctors are renown for all of knowledge that they gain through their hospitals. They have dirt roads but they can sure cure a tooth ache. :)

My question comes more in general with my whistle. I noticed that it's recently changed to a garbage status.

I mainly try to flag reviews that:

A) Go into "This should be blammed" territory
B) Generally abusive to the author (even if I don't agree)

Not that it's a major issue, but how exactly can I avoid negative points if I flag a review that's supposedly abusive by the rules but I in the end continue to receive negative points for such a thing?

Also, Kim has to fall, by nature or the hand of the masses. Bodyguards would most likely do it since many tyrants have been murdered by their bodyguards.

That doesn't stop the mindset of the Koreans. If I recall, Germany's people didn't really have as long under a totalitarian regime as NK has. Gradual would not be fast enough. Meanwhile, these people would take all of the money of S. Korea as TheMason has stated. More than likely, Kim will fall from old age in a similar fashion to Russia collapsing under its own weight rather than someone taking out Kim.

Yes. We should. You can't really alienate a nation and its people without setting up
A) propaganda and rhetoric that gets fed to them, making more enemies,
B) trade relations going sour or
C) alienating people we may have to pay for in the long run through various means.

Absorbed into S. Korea, its citizens allowed to prosper, the people in government and military fired or reprogrammed and then they have a Merry Christmas. :)

Didn't Kim inherit N. Korea from his father? More or less, you have to get this belief system out of their minds which we can't really do. As well, we give them aid to appease Kim who acts like a spoiled child. But just because he whines doesn't make him any less dangerous.
